Niche movie about seals

I’m starting to think I maybe just dreamed this, and it’s not an actual movie, but maybe someone can help. My step-grandma had this movie I would watch as a kid and I can’t remember the name, but I remember a few key details if it’s real. Whatever it is, it’s nothing I’ve been able to google, so it’s really niche.

- the movie is older, probably between the 50s and 70s, but it was definitely real people with a trained seal, and not animated. It is in color.

- the movie followed this seal pup who got stranded and found by a man who lived and worked on the ocean, though I can’t remember his actual job. I think he was a fisherman.

- the man raises the seal in his home with his granddaughter, she is probably between 7-12 years of age. If I remember correctly, they either raised the seal pup through the winter, or through the rest of the pup raising season.

- the man had a set of stairs or a platform built on the beach that, during high tide, was inaccessible, so he would warn his granddaughter to not be stuck on the platform during high tide.

-the end of the movie I think is where the granddaughter realizes the seal pup has grown and needs to go home, so she takes the seal to the aforementioned platform as high tide is coming, and “sets the seal free”.

-I feel like this movie took place somewhere in Northern European area, Greenland, Iceland, New England area of the world if it helps.

From what I can google, it’s not Andre, this movie wasn’t a comedy. It’s not Sandy the Seal, or The Golden Seal. I’m ready to accept the fact this movie probably doesn’t exist and my childhood made it all up, but any help is appreciated!

School and Field Book of Botany 1874

Found this book from 1874 at an antique shop and it still has some pressed flowers and plants in it. Thought that was pretty neat.

Painting brick?

So, I’ve always heard to not paint brick. A lot of people get upset when others paint brick. But genuine question, why is painting brick so bad? Does it damage the integrity of the brick?

I inherited a brick house from my grandmother, and I’m wanting to redo the house to live in. My biggest issue is the house is actually two smaller brick houses a family friend moved to one lot and the guy built the two houses together to make one giant house. Because of this, the brick is three different colors. One side is fairly light red brick, the other side is very dark red brick, and the center where they built them up together is a whole other tone of red brick. My house is basically ombré and I kinda hate it.

So what should I do? I kind of want to lime-wash the brick but if painting brick is bad for the overall status of my house, then I don’t want to risk damaging anything by painting it.

Hello all! First time user. A client of mine went to Armenia to visit family and brought me back this coffee. She speaks Armenian, but says she doesn’t speak this language, so I’m not certain it’s Armenian. They did visit other countries while away, so it’s very possible it’s a country physically close to Armenia. I would appreciate any help translating this!

Would it be safe to start this vehicle?

2002 Nissan X-Terra

Our vehicle has been sitting for three years and we haven’t had to start it that whole time. We replaced the battery and turned to the key to see if the lights would come on, and they do. The problem is the car has 3/4 of a tank of gas.

Should we drain the gas off and replace it, or is it still usable gas?

I don’t mind draining it, I just don’t know how to dispose of it after. I have no stumps I need burning out, none of my local auto parts stores will take it, and none of the recycling plants in my area take liquids to recycle. So it would be kinda convenient if I could just use the gas still in the vehicle.

Llamas and rot boxes??

I missed the first 10-15ish minutes of the AA. Are llamas and rot boxes not a thing anymore? I saw lucky rots aren’t a thing anymore.

Probably worst AA ever

I got so many dilly’s, cat clocks, and chop chops, it was extremely ridiculous. And the icing on the cake is I had a football alligarto walk (would have been index for me), but at that exact moment, my game decided to break and couldn’t buy it. I could buy every other rot around it, except that one. I had to let it walk because even respawning wouldn’t let me buy it.

Plus, he couldn’t even deliver on the promise he made last week for the luck update this week. This game is ass.

Edit: spelling

Trade?

Ngl, I kinda hate the football mutation, it’s just not my thing, but I got these two big guys. I still have to let a friend of mine index them, but I’m looking to trade them off. Not really looking for anything in particular except a rebirth spider, open to all offers.

The picture sucks because it’s on my switch but both make over $900m/s.

Leucistic Colombian rainbow boa

One of my comments became very popular, and a lot of people were asking to see my leucistic rainbow boa. I had to go dig her out of her substrate (she’s young, so she likes to borrow under her log right now, so please excuse how dirty she looks) but here she is. I don’t really have a name for her as she’s still fairly new to me. She is five months old.

native cherry? Georgia, USA CSRA area

This tree is in my backyard, and the neighbor swears up and down this is a persimmon (it definitely is not) but I think it may be a native cherry? I tried to get as many pictures as I could but the base is surrounded by rotting wood from a porch, and I don’t have the tools to remove that. Located about ten minutes from the Savannah river near Augusta.

Snail Shell ID

Hello all! I was hoping someone could help me ID these snail shells I found. I’m fairly certain the first one is a rosy wolf snail, but I have no clue for the large white one. Located in the south eastern US near the Savannah River. TIA!

Best pest defense?

I live in the Deep South, around the Savannah river area. My wife and I are reclaiming some old family property to build our home, and are hiking around the property to mark off the old well, the septic, and other things. Despite using my normal tick deterrent spray, I have found five total ticks on me for a total of three tick bites. I even had my clothes tucked, and duct tape around my ankles and wrists. What else can we use to keep the ticks at bay?
