Induction BBQ

I'm looking at getting a small flat-plate BBQ setup for cooking outdoors. I want to avoid LPG, and was thinking a dual hob portable induction cooktop with a cast iron plate would achieve the outcome when paired with a small wooden outdoors table. Has anybody here done something like this and am I wasting my time?

443 So full it is rejecting passengers - view from a Ken Behran visiting folks

Basic whine about the 443 (Express from Moggill). It's taken me an hour to get from the start of the line to the freeway. The bus is full, no new passengers are allowed on, the roads are choked.

For many passengers, it would be easier and faster to send them to Riverview to interchange with the train instead, but that would require crossing a very congested ferry. Is it time to build the bridge? I think so.

ISO USB takes me to Grub

Hi, I stuffed my install mucking around with Docker. I've tried downloading Zorin and getting the ISO USB created without luck - it goes straight to grub. Meanwhile, I have been able to deploy OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and Kubuntu on ISOs without issue. Is there a problem with the ISO file on the Zorin site?

Aldi crimes against their Fatherland in your country

Aldi Australia has "German Style Kransky". Kransky is a Slovenian sausage, and Germans get confused whenever Australians talk about the famous German sausage, Kransky. Aldi Australia, being a German business, has gone too far!

Does Aldi brand something as German when it is not?

A blood blister on my fingertip popped, now I have a lump of flesh protruding through the hole.

It’s only mildly painful, but is like RAW and bleeds occasionally. I can’t push it back in. Has anyone seen this before? I assume the only thing to do is wait for it to go down?

Edit: These comments are cracking me up. But several people have identified that it's probably a pyogenic granuloma, which seems very likely based on now being able to google that term. Looks like it's not going away on it's own, and a derm appointment is in my near future :')

Does your government ask you to send them your poo in the mail?

Australia has a national free bowel cancer program, where we send our poo (sadly only a sample on a stick) to them in the mail.

Interesting sight at Bondi

In front of the memorial for December 14th, around 3pm looked like they had a photographer with them as well. Saw a cop drive up to them before we left and then saw them driving away so assume they were told to move on. anyone know the story behind this?

Inland Rail - was double stack really necessary, and did this requirement kill it?

Inland Rail is dead, at least for now. Outcome it was trying to achieve I believe was great, but the mandatory requirements killed it.

To me, the double stack requirement ultimately killed it. Rather than allowing for Roll-on roll-off for non-bulk goods for distribution in Brisbane and Melbourne, the entire use case was double stack. This meant really expensive tunnels and tracks that couldn't be used by electric locos. If single stack, trains could have gone directly via Acacia Ridge for separation, and the freight for the port continue from there, with smaller tunnels that are less costly and greater speed, even if trains don't carry as much.

In other words, a perfect double stack railway became the enemy of good. A single stack railway with more passing loops that could be electfried is better than no railway.
