My Dad is frequently angry and I think its probably affecting his blood sugar

My Dad 51M has Type 2 Diabetes. Not only has he always been an angry guy, but he also intentionally seeks out things that make him angry like sports, the news, and arguing with people online he doesn’t agree with. Today he got banned on an app because he’s ruthless on there and he was desperate for my phone number to make a new account. I know that anger releases cortisol, and frequent anger leading to heightened cortisol most of the time can affect blood sugar for people with diabetes, and also being angry that much can put strain on the heart, and he has a history of heart problems. Does anyone have advice about this?

Oral Pill Alternatives?

What are the alternative ways to get iron if the pill fails me? I have a history of digestive problems and I’m definitely worried about the side effects from the oral route. What other options worked for yall?

Harm Reduction

Hey! Does anyone have any tips for sterilizing/making tools cleaner? Please don’t ask me to stop, I’m not at that point yet, but I want to try and be safer about it. I’m quite scared of infections so it becomes a cycle of feeling the urge to sh, temporary relief, and then 24 hours of anxiety and constant checking to make sure its not infected.

Demisexual or no?

I’ve identified as demisexual for awhile but im still slightly on the fence so I’m gonna share some things about my experience for yall to ponder. (I am 20F, Lesbian)

Foreword: what i assume sexual attraction to be is actually wanting to/fantasizing about having sex with someone

  1. I have only ever had sexual attraction (wanted to have sex with) to three real people my whole adolescent life.

  2. The three people i have had a desire to have sex with were people I was friends with first, and then suddenly started feeling more sexual things after months (or years in one case) of being friends.

  3. Despite only being sexually attracted to three people before, I find it super easy to become emotionally attached to fictional characters and then have the hots for them, but the sexual attraction is never instant, i get to know the character and then boom now I want to fuck them. (And most of the time this attraction does not translate to the actress, unless they are INCREDIBLY similar in personality with their character)

  4. Back to real people, sometimes i will have a very quick onset desire to be close to someone (kiss, touch, skin to skin, etc, but no sex). This is what is making me question if I am demisexual because I’ll get like these quick crushes on real people, and its a little sensual, but never sexual.

Im so confused pls help.

My intentions feel so odd

I want to hear from people who feel the same way about sh as I do. I don’t really do it when I’m sad, or mentally in pain, I’m just kind of obsessed with the act of it? I think about it constantly, and for the past 8 years I have been intentionally consuming media (scenes, characters, storylines, etc) about sh, and ignoring the urge to actually do it until more recently. I do still sometimes do it as an emotional release or to visually express my pain, but I’m also just straight up infatuated with the blood and marks it leaves. I get frustrated if I cant stop thinking about doing it but don’t have the right tool on hand.

Habit Coughing Help!

Hi guys! So I’m pretty sure I have a habit cough. I have been know to cough when Im really anxious for many years, but ever since a bad cold I had in May where my genuine cough stuck around, I’ve developed what I think is a psychological anxiety driven cough. I do have Asthma, but the cough stays even after taking my rescue inhaler and feeling breathing relief. I cough because I feel a twinge in my throat, its not tight, or incredibly itchy, but twinge-like. The reason I think this is a habit cough is because a.) It disappears when I rest/sleep b.) it dissappears when I’m really distracted and not thinking about it and c.) a cough drop did absolutely nothing.

Does anyone have any tips? Right now Im trying stuff like hot water and gum but since I think its in my head those don’t work well. I think the continuous coughing is causing me Asthma symptoms, and I have relatively controlled asthma so I hate that my anxiety is messing with that.

When I was sick and coughed too much I tried really hard to just sit with the uncomfortable twinge feeling, the same way that sometimes if you sit with a itch long enough it might go away.

Any advice is appreciated!!!

Is this weird?

On a scale of 1-wtf, how weird is it for a father to watch explicit 18+ movies when his 11 year old daughter is in the same room but playing on a computer facing away from the TV (For clarity its an open concept basement and I was mostly facing away from the TV playing on the computer, but I had turned around and one of the fifty shades movies was on and let’s just say it was not a PG scene.) I think I’m just looking for validation because I’m trying to make sense of a really confusing time in my life.

(Edit: I am 20 years old now, this is something that went one when I was younger)

I don’t know how to feel about this.

Just now I went through my Dad’s social media pages and just found hundreds of intentionally sexual/revealing accounts, and some that have OF links and stuff like that where the creators intention is clearly sexual. On twitter it was really bad just over a hundred porn-type accounts. It’s not the possible cheating that I’m really concerned about, its the fact that his accounts and following lists are public, and the people who can see this are community members, friends, and family, including myself and my two younger sisters. I really don’t give a crap what he does online although I have my judgements (he is following almost 10,000 accounts on TikTok but that list is private…) but I am really uncomfy with the fact that my sisters might come across his following list. I want to know what others think of this.

OCD Diagnosis

Hey ya’ll, I’m wondering if anyone has some tips for going to my GP about my suspected OCD. I’m mainly going in to talk about my long list of physical symptoms and thats my main priority right now, but I feel like I need to mention that I think I have OCD because it’s a HUGE part of my life and could affect the treatment of my physical illness, if nobody knows I have a mental illness too. (I am diagnosed with GAD but over the years the obsessive and compulsive symptoms have gotten EXTREMELY prominent. Does anyone have any tips? Ways to decrease the chance of my GP not believing me? Right now I have a small section in my entire document for the doctor that doesn’t go into detail about any OCD symptoms, just states that they are intense, extremely frequent, and causing distress.

Any advice at all helps!

I had another post but i couldnt figure out how to add picture, but i took new pictures during the day and this is what they look like. when i look at my eyes closely in a mirror i dont see any blending, the colour distinction is very obvious, and they look much brighter but it does look a little blended in the picture. I feel like the phone camera doesn’t do my eyes justice. I guess its just confusing how I ended up with grey-blue and a golden brown colour.
