Seller sold me damaged item and is lying saying that I damaged it

I don’t purchase off eBay very often. In the past, I haven’t really had any issues. This time, a seller sold me an item that arrived damaged and GLUED and they are refusing a return and claiming I damaged it. It wasn’t a cheap item. I’m going to go through the process with eBay to see what my options are, but I feel pretty soured on eBay already. How to deal with a clear scam, and is eBay really a reliable place to buy things?

My Figgy and her goofball of a brother

I think every torbie should have a big black cat sibling to snuggle with 🖤

Fourth of July is a sensory nightmare

I live in a quiet town on purpose and now it’s fireworks every single night. It’s so loud. My cats are stressed, I’m stressed. I live one mile from a park where they keep doing it, and I can FEEL the fireworks rumbling MY HOUSE. I’m so angry at the town for thinking this is ok every night. What would you do?

How are you feeling about AI?

As an autistic woman, I am struggling greatly with my employer’s push for us to use AI.

All the statements about AI seem contradictory. Things like, experiment more and it’s ok to fail contradict the idea that we’re all responsible for our work and you can’t delegate accountability to AI. We know AI doesn’t work correctly and reliably, so how can we use it? Saying to always check the output makes no sense to me when you’re using AI to do something that you don’t already know the answer to. What are you supposed to “check it” for if you don’t know?

It seems so logically inconsistent and my autistic brain can’t compute so I just don’t want to use it. Anyone else having this issue?

My Figgy

My Figgy is a tortie tabby mix and she’s such a little mush. Under the covers is her favorite place.

My home library is my whole home

Someone else’s beautiful home library photos inspires me to post mine today. While I’ve always wanted a true “home library” I don’t have a central space in my house necessarily big enough for one. So my house has become my library, my favorite things spread out over my whole house. Books in my office/spare bedroom, in my bedroom, in the dining room, living room, where I can fit them!

It works for me! (And thank goodness for used bookstores!)

Obsessed with this house I saw but worried about insulation

I loved this adorable old MCM house in the Hudson Valley, but the walls seemed paper thin. Even the exterior ones. And it gets very cold here in the winter. Has anyone ever experienced this with houses and how do people deal with upgrading insulation in such thin walls?

Travel tips for bedbug precautions

I travel a lot for work, mostly around the US to fairly random cities. And I’m paranoid about bedbugs, so I take a lot of precautions. I’m curious if others have precautions you take that I might not have thought of. I want to be extra careful! I’ve heard getting bedbugs out of your house is an expensive nightmare.

Are there any actual women on Reddit?

This app is so full of misogyny and nastiness, I have a hard time believing any women are actually on here. Am I the only one? Every time I download the app, I last about 2 days before I’m so disgusted by this place that I delete it again. A sub banned me after a man called ME a c*nt. On my way out of here again, it seems.

Thank Google for ruining FitBit

I’ve been using FitBit for over 10 years and I canceled my premium membership today. The Google Health is awful. No one asked for this. Google owes us all a refund on these watches. I did not agree to give Google my health data when I bought this watch from Fitbit and I’m pissed.
