Some rumors that Oh Hyeon-gyu will join him there.

🥳 free after 13 years. Hope that new committee headed by Park Ji-sung can start cleaning house
For those who found this sub for the World Cup, you're more than welcome to stay as football fans and watch games this weekend. I promise there's so much more to Korean football than World Cup/Son. Really excited for the Gyeongin derby in particular!
Such a wonderful place and city
Korea's World Cup may be finished, but the K League is back next weekend.
If you want to play a part as a fan in building a better future for Korean football, there's no better place to start than supporting the next generation of players we'll hopefully see in Europe and, eventually, at future World Cups. It's easy to only follow our established stars abroad (and that's what many Korean fans have done over the past decade), but building a balanced national team capable of making deep World Cup runs or winning the Asian Cup also depends on developing the workhorse midfielders, ball-carrying defenders, and inverted fullbacks currently plying their trade in the K League.
I've really enjoyed watching players like Son Jeong-beom at Seoul and Kang Sang-yoon at Jeonbuk this season.
We saw what happened after Korea's disappointing 2023 WBC: KBO attendance exploded, and Korean baseball is in a much healthier place because fans rallied behind the domestic game. We also saw Suwon Bluewings supporters come out to support their club in droves after relegation, creating one of the best atmospheres in Korean football. Young players benefit from feeling that support.
I know it's tempting for some to turn your back on football altogether after a disappointing tournament, especially the local game. But one tournament doesn't have to define the next several years. Hopefully we'll see real leadership changes at the top as the current chairman resigns, but in the meantime the best thing we as supporters can do is show the next generation that we're still here. Here's to hoping our K League prospects today blossom into tomorrow's Sons and Parks to make us proud on the biggest stages 🇰🇷
Korea is not 100% through to the knockouts yet but your win over Czechia gives us a very good chance. You may have saved our asses as a favor for 2018.
Long may our football friendship continue!
🇰🇷🤝🇲🇽
Most dogshit football I've seen us play since that infamous Jordan game. Even if we do make it to the knockouts, I don't see us going further. All the players were just awful today.
EDIT: OH SHIT at least my Hynix and Samsung stocks went on a tear today 🤣 I guess I'll have a fancy dinner to drown my sorrow
Do you think there will be a heavy rotation to protect the starters or will Mexico playing in front of a home crowd/getting a long rest/wanting to keep form motivate them to go close to full strength?
Really hope Mexico wins! I think Korea will get the job done against South Africa, but in case we don't, it'd be nice of y'all saved us by beating Czechia like how we beat Germany in 2018 😂
I know Mexico were big favorites for this and on paper this was the expected outcome but man that result was disappointing.
We dominated possession but didn't look like scoring until the last ten minutes. Really awful game management by Hong to not make more offensive subs earier. And WHERE THE FUCK IS JENS???? We haven't seen him for two games now. He couldn't sub him on at least in preparation for the South Africa game? Goes to show a single win doesn't make Hong great and he needs to leave after the tournament.
I can't fault Kim for that goal, he's been a superb goalkeeper otherwise.
Congrats to Mexico on the win
Onto the South derby we go
Special thanks to GOAT In-beom and the Mexican fans who cheered us
Up to four teams will be promoted, so exciting race we got here.
