Summerlicious recommendations?

There are so many options that I'm having a hard time deciding. Which Summerlicious restaurant has been your favorite so far? I'm looking for somewhere with great food and a good overall experience. Open to any cuisine! Thank you!

My biggest parenting hack was buying things my kid could actually put away

I finally cleaned out my kid's art drawer this week and… yikes lol. Realized half of it was basically junk.

There were random crayons, loose paper everywhere, old stickers, dried-out glue sticks, broken chalk, one lonely marker cap, and a bunch of little craft things I honestly don't even remember buying. Probably things my daughter begged for while we were out, and I gave in because I just wanted to finish the trip. 😅

It made me realize I don't actually need more art supplies. I just need ones that are easy to put away.

So now I'm trying to keep things simple. Clicky markers with no caps to lose, a drawing board with a little mesh pocket for the pen that folds up and doesn't take much space, a few thinner watercolor books that can stack neatly, plus a small basket for stickers, crayons, scissors, glue, and random craft bits.

At this point, if my kid can use it and put it back without me turning it into a full cleanup mission, it stays. Everything else is on thin ice lol. Turns out being easy to put away matters way more than I thought.

How do you keep your kids' art supplies under control?

What's your go-to before dinner activity?

So today my husband is working, and it's just me with the kids.

By 3pm it already felt too late to go anywhere since we were planning to have dinner at home anyway. That stretch before dinner is honestly the hardest part of the day.

My son is getting tired, my daughter keeps asking what we're doing next, and I'm just trying to get dinner started without being interrupted every few seconds

I love all those cute craft ideas, but today I just didn't have the energy for the setup and cleanup. She ended up grabbing a paint with water book, so I filled the little water brush and handed it to her. Later she and her little brother took turns drawing on the little drawing board and making each other guess what it was. It was also nice not having to stop every few minutes to grab more paper for them, easier for me lol

That gave me enough time to get dinner ready, and when the food was done, I didn't have another mess to clean off the table before we could eat. That's all I'm asking for!

What do you usually do to get through that time before dinner?

Is this dress too close to white for a wedding guest?

I’m going to my friend’s wedding soon and I’m looking for a satin dress, preferably midi or maxi length.

I found this one and I really like the shape, but I’m not sure about the color. It’s kind of a champagne, taupe satin, and I’m worried it might look too light or too bridal in photos.

For reference, I’m 168cm and around 52kg. I’m also open to similar styles in other colors, especially pink, dusty rose, mauve, or blush pink.

Do you think this dress is appropriate as a wedding guest dress? And does anyone have recommendations for similar satin dresses or colors that would feel safer for a wedding?

My everyday mom bag

I used to carry a giant backpack every time we went out as a mom of two. Literally felt like I was packing for a weekend trip just to grab lunch. Diapers, wipes, snacks, extra clothes, random toys, books... you name it, it was probably in there.

These days I've completely given up on trying to prepare for every possible situation.

Now it's just snacks, wipes, water, an extra shirt, and a couple of things that'll actually buy me a few peaceful minutes if we're stuck waiting somewhere. Lately that's been a paint with water book and a little drawing board. They're small enough that I barely notice them in my bag until I actually need them.

My shoulders are a lot happier now lol

When did you let your kids try raw fish?

My 6yo daughter has recently become interested in salmon sashimi after seeing us order it. So far we've mostly stuck to California rolls, but she's had Arctic sweet shrimp before and really liked it. When did you let your kids try sashimi for the first time? Did you wait until they were older, or did you just let them try a small piece once they showed interest? Just curious what other parents have done.
