Seller near me wants $350 for the stack and says it all works well. I'm not really familiar with Carver and wonder if this is worth it. I'd be using a pair of Paradigm Titan V2s and a Panasonic SL-pd346 CD player. I have a Sherwood RV4050R already and it's fine, but I saw this and got tempted.
I am currently using a Sherwood 2030r as a receiver in my home office, but I also have these other two tuners and the less than optimal RCA amplifier. Assuming I can find a decent amp to use with one of these other tuners, would any of you have a strong opinion on replacing the Sherwood with either this Technics ST-Z35 or Sansui T-7? Both have a much cooler form factor than the Sherwood, which is just a big black 1990s box. I have no complaints about the Sherwood, though. Just looking to have a more vintage setup, maybe . . . Got my U1 date just from Jason last week. Woke up in the middle of the night and noticed on my bedstand that my watch line was still bright and legible enough to tell the time, 4 hours or so after turning off the light.

Now, I live in the desert, so maybe the sunlight is supercharging it. But this is more impressive than my name brand lumed watches.

I see a lot of posts asking if a watch is too small, and frankly if you are going to be buying vintage watches, you'll learn pretty quickly that for most of wristwatch history, a 40mm plus watch was considered fairly large and most men wore smaller watches until really the 1990s or so. Tool watches may have introduced the trend towards bigger watches, and now everything looks smaller, I guess, but I have found old dive watches that would be considered quite small these days. I even watched an "influencer" video where a man asserted that rich people are judging you because your watch isn't sized correctly. Horsepoop. Perhaps it's not the watches that have gotten bigger, but the egos? Who knows, but let me just reassure you that while a watch can definitely be way too big, a smaller dial isn't somehow wrong, especially on a vintage piece. I do not think that the men pictured here: JFK, some pipe-smoking yachtsman model with a crew cut, James Dean, Andy Warhol, Clint Eastwood, and William Holden, ever asked anyone whether their watch was too small.
Took just over two weeks from ordering to delivery. I don't know any better so I'll say I like it! :-)

I'm a real fan of the blue and orange color combo and I'm debating between the Citizen and the Mathey-Tissot. Both are GMT with mineral crystal, screw down crown, 200 meter water resistance, quartz movements (although the Citizen is an Eco-Drive). I have several Citizen watches and like them. I've never had a Mathey-Tissot. And yes, "buy them both" is tempting, but let me hear your opinions on M-T.
I have an open floorplan with a large L shaped living room, dining room, and kitchen. Currently have my speakers located in the base of the L - shape, not quite at the bottom of the long end, if that makes sense. I was thinking of adding another set of speakers on the B channel at the opposite side of the room, sort of at the far reach of the short end. The speakers would face each other from about 18 feet away. Is this daft? I will watch the total impedances, if I do this.
Clock works, but I can't seem to get the "neon" to light up. It takes a separate 9v plug for that and my variable voltage plug set at 9 doesn't seem to fire it up.
Not sure if I can pick up much SW here in AZ, but it pulls in FM beautifully.
Guy wants $100 each. I'm not great at assessing how good or bad a rep is, so I'd love some hivemind feedback. These are the best pics I have of them.
Ordering Datejust from Jason and just want to see if it looks ok. This is a U1 and I understand the limitations. I tried to order a VSF from another TD but there were so many problems. I'm new to this so I decided I'd try a U1 first. I know they are not 1:1 and I know lots of people will say just save for a VSF, but I'm not ready for that. I know Jason is trusted and I don't want to come off as stupid. I'd just like to know if this U1 in the package photo is what other people get from Jason before delivery. I'm getting the Miyota movement. The first pic is what's being sent' and the second is the "ad". Thanks!
