I just wanted a simple analog look...

Got this in the watch face creator instead. I also tried with a bit more elaborated promot "A simple analog face, with bold hands and clearly visible numbers" but I only get variations of this layout.

Is there an actual way to get a more "traditional" face using the Create option?

Suggestions welcome.

Selfhosting game that was posted a while back

There was a "data center managerment" game that was posted a while back, can't find it anymore. Pretty sure it was in this sub.

EDIT: it had a web 2D based interface.

Anyone?

Phishing (not) from Anker

Been getting a few of these recently, a powerbank which would usually go for about €100, for just €10? Sounds like too good to be true and, as usual, if it looks too good to be true that's more than likely not! Few hints 😉

And no space next to the comma after the (real) name.

Vodafone Hub 7 and firewall

Is there anybody else having an issue with the firewall just getting re-enabled on its own?

I disable it and it just gets randomly re-enabled, that's causing a weird behaviour with all the DNS with all the requests being forwarded to the server configured on the router, rather than the intended server.

ER707 M2 "hijacking" DNS (how to fix)?

UPDATE: issue was caused by an upstream router.

I've just spent a few hours trying to sort out what It thought was a DNS just to find out there's no DNS issue but that's instead the ER707 "hijacking" the DNS queries and forwarding it to the server configured in the internet section.

Tried googling and searching about this, but can't find anything that actually works.

Versus the same done to port 853

The hijacking is also clear from here (2nd command shows the correct output with the server id while routing via VPN)

Which made me following a false lead before realising what was happening.

DNS Proxy and DNS cache are both disabled

Is there an actual way to disable this feature and just send the connection to the original server. The only solution I've found is by forcing the remote DNS server thru a VPN solution. That's, clearly, a less than optimal solution and there has to be a proper way of managing this. Any suggestion/help? How are others managing this?

Thanks!

I built a smart bike tracker that hides inside your handlebar for ~$40

Hey everyone!!

I wanted to share some stuff about my project VVVEBA COMPACT! It's a super small bike tracker, with a whole bunch of smart features. It can find its own location, detect theft via accelerometer, and notify the bike owner near-instantly.

Current features TLDR:

  • 18mm x 100mm, hidden inside handlebars
  • Instant movement detection
  • Auto-arming and disarming
  • Anti-tamper light sensor
  • Charging via USB-C
  • Easy installation

Coming soon TLDR:

  • 2G -> 4G
  • GPS
  • Prepaid SIM, 10 years, no subscription
  • Improved power saving

It's an 18mm x 100mm footprint, with no case, because it's hidden entirely inside your bike handlebars! This way, thieves aren't aware of the system, and won't take it out! And in case they try to, there's a sensor that will trigger the alarm if light is detected.

The system features auto-arming and disarming (currently via BLE, but in the next version that will be eradicated), just walk up to your bike to disarm the system, and walk away to arm.

Installation is easy and non-destructive, just slide the PCB in, keep the antennas outside the metal, then slide the rubber grip on.

In the future, I'll make it even smaller, and make it use 4G instead of 2G, add GPS, improve power saving, and add a prepaid built-in SIM that lasts for 10 years with no subscription. All while actually using less parts, and keeping the price low ($40 for all features or $25 without the built-in SIM).

It's part of the Polish Explory competition right now - if you want to support it a vote at vvveba.com would mean a lot. No account needed, just a name and email.

Thanks everyone <333

I'm currently trying to only route certain source IPs via a Wireguard tunnel.

I was hoping to be able to achieve that by specifying the source IPs as "custom IP" in the Local Networks. As soon as I add one of the IPs a.b.c.d/32 the other IPs in the subnet won't be able to reach the destination. My assumption was they would've been using the default routing instead.

I know this could be achieved by using different VLANs but, for now, I can't move those local hosts to different VLAN.

Also, policy based routing doesn't look to be a viable choice.

Any suggestion? Am I missing anything? Doing anything wrong? Or that's just something that can't be done?

Thanks to whoever can help!

I've just moved from CC to EE for my home lab. Everything working fine except for the Authentication, Admin Action and Network logs. All are empty. Gave it a couple of days as I thought it needed to collect data, but it made no difference. Am I missing anything?

Wanted to confirm before raising a bug.

Currently on 1.18.1.
