Search "n8n" on Play Store: a competitor gets the big featured spot, my app is buried. How do you rank higher?

I built a companion app for n8n automation. When I search "n8n" on Google Play, a competing app is shown as a large featured result at the top, while mine only appears much lower under "You might also like". It looks like their app is "the best", even though that's not necessarily true.

I'd love advice on:

How does Play Store decide who gets the featured top result?

Does having the exact keyword in the app title matter that much?

How important are ratings, reviews and install count versus keywords?

Any ASO tips (short description, full description, screenshots, update frequency) that actually moved the needle for you?

Thanks in advance!

Google Play app transfer: subscription renewals are still going to the old payments profile

Hi everyone,

I recently transferred my Android app from one Google Play Developer account (Account A) to another one (Account B).

The app already had active subscriptions before the transfer.

The transfer was completed successfully, and Google states that active subscriptions are transferred with the app.

However, about 3 days after the transfer, one of the existing subscribers renewed their monthly subscription. RevenueCat correctly shows the transaction as a RENEWAL, but the money did not appear in the payments profile connected to Account B.

Instead, I can see the revenue from that renewal in the old payments profile from Account A.

So my question is: Is this expected behavior?

Do subscriptions created before an app transfer continue sending future renewal payments to the old payments profile, or should future renewals eventually be paid to the new account?

Has anyone transferred an app with existing subscriptions and experienced this?

Thanks!

Any software engineers/devs in Lusaka? 🇿🇲

Hi everyone!

I’ve recently moved to Lusaka and I'm really enjoying the city so far. I’m a mobile developer and I’m looking to connect with fellow tech enthusiasts in the area.

Whether it’s for potential collaborations, brainstorming ideas, or just grabbing a coffee to talk about code and the industry, I’d love to grow my local network. Are there any active tech communities or regular meetups here?

Would love to hear from anyone working in the field or get some recommendations on where the local developer community hangs out.

Thanks!
