She’s here!

I’m a little overwhelmed but so far I’m having fun. I did not know that it comes with parquet brush, but what about the premium one? Is it necessary? I’m loving the turbo brush for the stairs! What other (if any) accessories are recommended? What about Duo-P?

Thanks to everyone who helped me decide 🥰

What about these for sliders?

I want to make BBQ bacon sliders with these for my kiddos. I’m not the greatest fan of CB but I use their sliced bread from time to time in a pinch. However, these are the only Hawaiian bread sweet rolls that I’m aware of? And I already bought them. According to my research, some of you say they are too sweet. I plan to balance the sweetness with bacon and grilled onions.

Anyway, my question is have you tried making sliders with these? How did they turn out? Second question, what’s the best way to heat them up? I prefer shelf stable breads so that I don’t have to deal with the moisture issue but that’s not an option here. They were in the freezer section.

EDIT: Made the sliders. The kids hated the buns. I tried them, and I found the taste slightly off as well. Back to the drawing board.

Ok, so I’m back

We just came back from a Sebo dealer. We tried the Felix (which was recommended here), but they did not have a Dart.

I learned a few things after shopping with the dealer. Number one, the Felix is too heavy for me. An important detail that I left out in my first post was that our stairs are carpeted. So I need something that I can lift up the stairs and has a brush head that isn’t too big, but is maneuverable.

So that makes the Felix out. I also don’t want to spend $1000 for a vacuum cleaner at the moment. So should I go with the Miele C1 classic cat and dog? I’m fine with the price and I wanted to purchase this one straight away, but my husband doesn’t like some of the reviews that he’s read about it on Amazon. Also, he’s saying for $400 more we might as well get the E3. He’s also protesting because of the one year warranty versus the 10 year that we get with a Sebo.

I’m just having a hard time justifying spending $1000 for a vacuum cleaner. We can, I would just need a really good reason to do so. I just feel like the Miele would do good enough. If you have a compelling reason why the E3 would be better, please share. I just need something that gets all of the dirt up and is reliable. I don’t want to have to keep buying machines. What do you all think?

They remember us!

Fauna was my favorite for the longest time and I’d worked so hard to have her come to my island at the height of the popularity of the game. Remember when everyone was still trading villagers with each other?

But over time, I changed my island completely and added different villagers. She just didn’t fit anymore and I had to say goodbye to her. But, I didn’t know that after the new DLC that previous villagers from our islands would remember us! It was a sweet surprise.

Now I gotta bring her back 🥰

Just got a house. What kind of vacuum cleaner should I buy?

We live in the U.S. in a 1700 ft home. The home is 50% carpet and 50% hardwood. Our budget is $600 max, maybe slightly higher (for tax) but not by much.

It would be nice if it’s lightweight, but that’s not a requirement. We have four children and all bedrooms are upstairs, so our main desire is to use the unit upstairs (where it’s carpeted) only. We mop our hardwood floors. We want something that sucks up dirt like a Kirby (the guy came to our house 😅) but not a Kirby.

How can you tell when it’s peri rage vs. being fed up?

There are some times where I really just want to be done with this man. We’ve been together for decades and sometimes I just feel like it’s run its course. There’s no cheating involved or anything like that. I’m just fed up with how he acts sometimes and I don’t want to deal with it anymore.

I can’t tell if I’m just raging out from perimenopause (and being unreasonable) or if I actually just want to nuke the relationship. I find myself getting irritated at the little things but also having less patience for talking through some of the longtime issues we have regarding communication. I feel so invalidated when we talk sometimes and I also feel like he’s being purposely obtuse and not wanting to acknowledge how I feel just so he can be “right”. It’s so annoying 🙄

Overall, I just have less patience for any kind of nonsense. I guess I’m wondering if I need to just dig deep (because hormones or lack thereof) and try to find that patience to work through my frustrations.

When I was younger, I was very male centered. But now that I’ve reached middle age 😅 I find myself not needing (or wanting) a man as much. It’s kind of been there, done that. That sounds mean. But I also don’t want to keep arguing about the same things for the rest of our lives together.

I don’t understand

If I can only work with one paycheck at a time (for example, let’s say I get paid 1500 biweekly) but my mortgage is $3195, how the hell do I know how much I should allocate towards my mortgage? Do I just GUESS?! Like, do I just say to myself, I’ll put 600 towards the mortgage? And the remainder towards other bills? Savings? What if I guess wrong and didn’t allocate enough? I don’t understand partially filling categories by guessing what to put towards each. It feels arbitrary and I don’t know if it’s enough. It makes me want to give up and I’m only a week in. We get paid this Friday, and all of that will cover the mortgage.

Therefore, why should I allocate ANY of this previous check towards mortgage at all? Because I can’t even fund my mortgage until the check comes on Friday. So I just shouldn’t fund the mortgage at all until this Friday? I prefer to fund all of my bills first at the beginning of the month. But if I do THAT, I won’t have any cash for wants until mid month (not fun). I do want to allocate towards wants, I don’t know how much money I should randomly guess to put towards those wants. Basically nothing can be fully funded until mid month. It’s pissing me off. Please excuse my frustration. Clearly I don’t understand how any of this works. And I watched the videos. Still don’t. I’m ready to get flamed.

When going through a breakup, Meg is key.

Running Up Freestyle. On repeat. She is getting me through it. Fuck these garbage ass, lying men.

Post her best “get through it songs” here. Help a hot girl out. I’m probably listening to most of them anyway, but I need the HG community to help 😭

I hate him during the day and cry because I miss him at night.

What is this weird mixture of emotions I’m going through? We’ve only been separated three days. We were together 20 years. During the day, I can’t even look at him. We’re still in the same household for the moment, so I avoid being in the same room with him.

But when I go upstairs at night to my room, I mostly cry about missing him. I miss what we had. Our family unit and traditions. It’s quiet up here now. No chatter about which Dateline we’re going to watch. Just last week we celebrated our kid’s birthday. Now it’s all gone. He blindsided me with betrayal. A few days ago my marriage was intact. In a split second everything blew up. How can I deal with these fluctuating emotions? I’d rather just be mad. That’s easier. I don’t want to be sad. Even though I understand why I’m sad. I don’t know. I’m just having a hard time crying quietly enough that my kiddos down the hall don’t hear.
