Why do the boats no longer have fake names?

I remember many of the early seasons, the yachts would be renamed for the series so they couldn't be identified. I don't think that happens anymore. Did the yacht owners stop caring that their boats were on TV?

Please don't start the hidden ducks thing

I've seen more and more posts on social media about people hiding those tiny ducks all over the VV ships for people to find. I wondered how long it would take for this habit to carry over from other lines. For a cruise line that discourages plastic waste it's kinda irritating to see people scattering 50 pointless tiny bits of plastic all over the ship. Maybe I'm being miserable but it's a shame to see yet another boomer cruise tradition come over.

Concern about depression medication being right for my issue

Hello

I have always had mild to medium anxiety about big events like work presentations, meeting a lot of new people etc. This recently got worse with the illness and death of a parent and has lingered on post their death... I'm now anxious about how other family members are coping and get easily panicked for example if I don't get a reply to my messages to them. I often wake up feeling a little panicky with a racing heart beat.

I asked for a doctor's appointment, as I had been recommended beta blockers by a friend with anxiety. They sounded a good solution to me, as I could take them as and when required and when I was feeling anxious and panicky.

I was told I could only have a phone appointment with a mental health nurse, who told me these drugs (propanalol) are no longer routinely prescribed, but she could prescribe me escitalopram.

My understanding is that this is a long term, daily drug generally used for combating depression as well as general anxiety, and will target the root cause of the anxiety symptoms. It can have various side effects, particularly in the first weeks of taking it. However, I am nervous about starting a course of such a drug after what was a very brief and quite confusing call with a nurse - I had expected a longer discussion about my mental health to help figure out exactly what I should be doing. I have never really taken a long term drug before and am not completely sure it's what I need.

I have been offered some face to face counselling sessions through my work healthcare programme and I wondered if I would be better doing these first and then making a decision about medication.

Would there be any repercussion in ignoring the prescription I've been given and going down this route? Or should I just take the escitalopram and see if it works for me? Maybe I am overthinking it and it would be good for me.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Help planning a week in Sweden - we have flights and accommodation, need tips for everything else!

Hello! In early August we are visiting Sweden! We actually have a flight to and from Copenhagen airport (long story) and have booked three places to stay in Sweden, as we want to spend some time in and around nature. We will drive between each place.

For three nights we are staying at the Trakt hotel in Skogssviter, this is a "bucket list" stay for us and is quite pricey so we are hoping to enjoy the facilities and stay local, walking and cycling in the forest. It is quite a long drive from the airport so interested in the nicest route to take.

After that we drive to stay in a converted sleeper train hostel which is located at Ålshult for 2 nights, then an Airbnb in Tingsryd, by a small lake. These last two stops are both quite near Åsnens national park and we have lots of free time to explore the area.

I would love any advice on places to stop off on the journeys between each location or things to do at each place, we are not hugely outdoors types but love a gentle hike, cycle or boat as well as beautiful views and interesting 'out of the way' places, small towns, restaurants, quirky shops, etc. And any tips on the best/most scenic driving routes to take. We don't mind going on diversions to make the most of the trip.

Any help appreciated! Thanks

Driving circular route from Vancouver for a week instead of Rocky Mountaineer?

Hello, looking for some advice. We disembark a cruise in Vancouver in September and planned to add a week in which we thought about flying to Calgary, staying a few nights in Banff then getting the Rocky Mountaineer train back to Vancouver.

However, it turns out the RM is insanely expensive and many people suggest driving instead, so we would have the option to explore places along the way. We love this idea so this is now our plan!

I have researched a very rough itinerary and would love any opinions on alternative places to stay and interesting/unique/beautiful places to stop along the way, as well as suggestions for the most scenic routes. We love exploring and sightseeing, though we aren't huge mountain climbers etc we do like a gentle hike.

The rough itinerary is:

Day 1 - Vancouver to Whistler (sea to sky highway)

Day 2 - Whistler to Revelstoke

Day 3-5 - stay in Banff and explore surrounds

Day 6: Banff to Kelowna

Day 7: Kelowna to Vancouver

We may also have an extra day to play with, would you suggest breaking up the Day 6/7 route with an extra night somewhere?

Many thanks

UK travel agents (first mates)

Can anyone recommend a top class travel agent/first mate who can book for UK travellers (ideally based in the UK)?

It's been a couple of years since we cruised with VV - are the days of extra bar tab/sailor loot when booking through certain agents long gone?

I need to talk to someone about this show. It literally must cost about £220 to make each episode. It's a bit like Bargain Hunt except the two teams have to buy tat in charity shops and sell it for a profit. This happens in an unexplained online video auction (sometimes after being "upcycled" e.g. painted in ugly colours) or just vaguely "online". Joanna Page off Gavin and Stacey is the host and mainly runs around a rainy British town shouting into the entrances of charity shops. She then reveals how much profit each team makes, which is usually about £4, thus rendering the whole thing largely pointless.

It's ridiculously terrible but obviously I've watched every episode available on iPlayer.
