Cc1 canvas top

I have 7 3d printers myself, but a cc1 isn't one of them. It's for that reason I'm reaching out in this sub. I bought my 19 year old a cc1 about a year ago. He loves it. I got him the canvas as well. Seeing as how I don't follow developments here as much, I was wondering what the communities opinions are on a top that uses the OEM glass ? We want to add one so he can keep the sound, dust, and chamber temps when necessary. I appreciate any input. Meanwhile I'll keep looking for the right one as well. I remember seeing a bunch of developments on models when the canvas was first released.

Jumping off

3.5 years on phenibut. Highest I got was about 5gpd. I tapered down over about 3 months. Last week I was the doing .1gpd. Saturday I did .7g. That was my last dose. I slept horribly last night. Woke up every 30 minutes despite taking 150mg trazodone. What can I expect moving forward? When will sleep return to normalish? Thanks for any info or advice.

Edit Saturday I did .07g

Connection issues.

My u1 constantly needs to be reconnected to the slicer. Snorca or orca. I've updated to the newest firmware and did a reset. Out of 6 printers my u1 is the only one that does this. Anyone have any advice, it's super annoying. I can connect, slice a file and then have to reconnect to print 🤷🏿‍♂️

Snapmaker u1 vs. Flashforge creator 5 pro

I own both. I've had the creator 5 pro for about a week. I haven't utilized the chamber heater yet, but I will. I print a lot of pa6-cf, pet-gf, and PC blends. Regardless just using pla and petg has given me an opportunity to directly compare it to my u1. Overall I like the c5 pro much more than the u1. It looks better. Just a cool overall look. The biggest thing though is the larger door opening. The u1 has a tiny door. Just taking the build plate out you have to have it perfectly aligned. My u1 keeps having connectivity to WiFi issues. I constantly have to reconnect it to print over wifi. Sometimes I'll connect it, slice a file and go to print only to get an error saying not connected. Obviously I need to reach out to support to address it, but still.

Then there is the value. I purchased a chamber heater and hardened nozzles for the u1. Also preordered the top hat. That puts me at about $300 more than the c5 pro. I still like them both. Print quality is a wash. However if I had to do it again, I'd get 2 c5 pro's.

Glock 43xl.

I shortened a frame for a g48 to make it the perfect length for the 43x with the radian ramjet. Turned out well imo. Printed it Sunlu pa6-cf on my H2C.

The strongest filament

Great video detailing the strengths and weaknesses of filaments we use for our 2a builds. Worth a watch especially for how common of a topic this is.

Glock 42

Printed in sunlu pa6-cf. Passes basic function checks but there is play in the trigger housing and the trigger hits the trigger guard. I'll throw a different trigger shoe on it and see if that helps. Planning on taking it to the range this weekend. In a couple of months I'll be living on 10 acres. No more range trips for testing purposes ☺️

Just ordered a snapmaker u1, cover options?

Like the title says, I ordered it yesterday. I also ordered the panda breathe chamber heater and a set of hardened nozzles. I like to print with engineering filaments. I'm curious about top hat options from people who have tried them. Snapmakers, biqu, or a community based option? What are some recommendations?

Also does anyone know what the average shipping time is for the u1? I live in Wisconsin.

Qidi q2 won't boot

I've been absolutely loving my Q2. I got it last November and it's been a workhorse. I have about 3800 hours on it. I had been printing mostly pa6-cf, ppa-cf and ppa-gf the last couple months. I had my Qidi box disconnected and was feeding my filament externally from a dryer. This morning I decided I was going to do a multicolored pla print. So I shut off the Q2 and connected the box. I turned it on and got an error saying it couldn't boot. Also that the camera had an error and to turn off ai detection. I can access the UI still and I disabled the ai detection but still get the error. I took the panel off over the ap board and unplugged the camera but still get the camera error when I power down and turn it on. I have tried repeatedly to restart the firmware and restart klipper but it doesn't work whatsoever. Has anyone encountered something like this?

CHCKX ppa-cf

So this ppa-cf is 22.50 on Amazon. Definitely made me suspect. The reviews are mostly bad but from the pictures it looked to me to be wet. So once I had the roll I dried it at 100c for 24 hours and ran a print. The results were not pretty. It still looked wet. So I dried it an additional 12 hours at 110c and this is the result. I have no idea if this stuff is going to perform like the other ppa-cf 's I have used. I plan on building this Mac 45 by unseenkiller and will update after testing.

Printer for my girlfriend and her kids

I'm thinking about getting them a p1s combo with ams 2 pro. Originally I was looking at getting them an Elegoo Centauri carbon with the canvas mcu. I found one locally on marketplace for $200. While I enjoyed the elegoo centauri carbon when I had one myself I started thinking about the ease of use with Bambu's eco system for them since they will be just learning. I'm fairly certain they would really only use pla and petg for most things, the oldest is into RC cars and had already printed a plow for his rc truck on a printer at school. I figured if he starts to get into it I could order them a chamber heater in the future?

Any other suggestions or deals I should consider? Getting this p1s combo will be a bit more than I was going to spend but the more I think about it, the more I think it may be the right choice.

Qidi q2 ruby nozzle

I've bought 2 of these nozzles so far and it shows 6 left in stock. $10 shipped. I figured I'd share this for anyone interested. The reviews mention problems threading it in, but I didn't experience this. It did feel a tad tighter than OEM but Ive got about 50 hours on one so far and it's working great. I've been printing pa6-cf with it. I've used durozzle diamond tipped nozzles as well with success but for $10 I figured id give the ruby ones a shot.

Edit : forgot to mention that this nozzle is actually for the Qidi plus 4, but working flawlessly in my q2

Frt for PSA rifle

Hey there everyone, I was tasked by my girlfriend to help find an frt for her pop's ar-15 in 5.56 for fathers day. Being that I'm a member of the PSA sub I thought it a good place to ask some questions. I've only put an frt on my 10/22.

I'm wondering what the easiest one out there would be to use on a stock PSA ar-15. I haven't seen the rifle in person and just have a picture. Does PSA use a certain standard buffer weight on their rifles?

I'd love any ideas on the best ones, frt or super safety? I also 3d print if anyone thinks some of the printable ones are worth while. I'd like to just be able to help him get it going.

Sar B6 "like a b6"

Title of the frame is "like a b6"

Cz 75 clone. Assembly was frustrating at a couple points. This was a completely foreign platform for me to assemble but it's together and passes all the function checks. I got a mec-gar cz75 17 rd mag for it. Much cheaper than an actual sar B6 mag and mec gar makes quality mags for other pistols I have. This was printed in elegoo paht-cf on my Bambu x2d using asa as support interface material. I'm looking forward to taking it to the range ☺️

G29x

Glock g29x build. Using all OEM parts. Frame is under g30x. The designer has it posted with known trigger issues. Upon assembly I did indeed have a dead trigger. It wouldn't release the striker. So I used an armorers backplate to get an idea of what was going on. What I ended up doing was filing a little material from behind the trigger shoe which gave me a little longer pull. I also noticed that the trigger housing rocked back and forth along with the rails in the rear pocket. I just added a small wedge to the back of the pocket by adding a modifier in orca slicer. After tweaking the added material and a few prints it now fully dry fires and resets. Range testing soon.

Printed in elegoo paht-cf on a Qidi q2 👍🏻

Pc-abs

I recently purchased some pc-abs by sunlu after watching some testing videos on YouTube featuring it. It seems to have some really great characteristics. High heat resistance, impact resistance, and retains a lot of PC's resistance to creep. My first thought was of mags. I know there was an extensive test of filaments for mags a few years back in the original fosscad. The winning filament being PC-PBT. So I was curious to see how this somewhat affordable Sunlu pc-abs would do.

I printed a mag for the recession Ruger on my Qidi max 4. I used a generic PC profile and the print quality is pretty impressive. I've got it loaded up and plan on letting it sit for at least 90. I'll periodically check the feed lips on it to see if it's starting to suffer from creep. I'll update this along the way 👍

I made sure to offer a free view of my feet 😜

Free Qidi q2 injection molded riser.

Anyone need one? I love my printed 3dp riser and have no intention of using the one that came with the Qidi box. First response can have it as long as you reimburse my shipping to you. I'm sure it won't be much, I'll ship it and trust you to pay me back. I figured otherwise this post will look like an attempt to scam. I just have it sitting here and don't want to throw it out.
