The new Gemini: no longer multilingual?

Hello guys, I've just noticed now that the Gemini client on my Pixel Watch 3 (which a few days ago updated to the one with the new look - unsure if it's directly related to that though) no longer understands commands (or anything at all, really) in Italian, which is set as my second language in the Gemini app on my phone (English being the main language).

I'm quite sure Gemini used to understand whatever language you spoke to it, even those not set as primarily nor secondary.

Why has this changed recently? Is it a bug? Am I the only one affected, or are you guys seeing the same issue?

Thank you!

How long before Flex detects Zego?

I'm trying to join Flex. About one month ago I joined the waitlist, and a few days ago I was notified I could complete registration.

I've completed all the steps, signed up for pay-as-you-go insurance, and on the 8th August Zego also successfully detected the Amazon Flex integration within their app ("Account linked" under You > Work Providers > Amazon Flex).

However, in the Amazon Flex app it's still showing as per the screenshot above.

Background checks, right to work, driving licence etc in the Amazon Flex app were all completed previous to the 7th August.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for Zego to "notify" Amazon?

Thanks a lot!

No more temperature/weather shown on Lenovo Smart Clock Essential

Hello guys, I know this is quite an old speaker, but it worked quite well until a couple of days ago, when it suddenly stopped showing the weather icon and the outdoor temperature value.

Just checking on here if other people with the same product have started experiencing the same issue in the last few days, to understand if it's a widespread issue or if there's something wrong with my unit.

Not sure if it matters, but my "Home" is enrolled to Gemini (have been for months), and I'm based in the UK.

I've already tried a reboot, but that didn't fix it.

Anyone else? :)

Thanks a lot!

EDIT: I'm not sure why people feel the need to post with unhelpful comments. I know the device is practically "no longer supported", yet it kept working perfectly fine, and works fine for most other users in the comments. My post had a very obvious purpose, i.e. checking whether other users who own the same device have experienced the same. You don't own it? Then just don't reply. FFS this isn't hard to understand.

EDIT2: well, somehow, 10 hours later the weather and temperature have just come back: https://ibb.co/qYLtGF6h 🤷‍♂️ I guess the gods must have heard me lol. All's well that ends well!

Our weekend project 😁❄️

Last week we got delivered the TCL aircon from JoyBuy.

Prepared now for tomorrow, which now is surely going to be the last heatwave day for this summer 🙃

Total cost (excluding aircon unit): £30.79

• 2x Ariel Clear Polycarbonate Twinwall Roofing sheet (1.2m x 61cm) from B&Q (the window is 1x1m, so I joined two of these) £9/each direct link

• Velcro Brand White Stick-On Tape 5m x 20mm from Screwfix £12.79 direct link

Could have done some things better, but overall I'm quite satisfied!

When the polycarbonate panel is removed, the white soft velcro part on the window frame is basically unnoticeable on the white frame unless you go looking for it.

I would have come up with a better solution for joining the two panels (i.e. taking a 10cm wide section that we've cut from one side, using some large washers to nut&bolt it in the centre across the two sheets, or using some H-profiles etc), but we didn't think of it before 4pm today so it will probably be for next year 😜

If anyone has any recommendations (or any questions, but I doubt 🤣), feel free to let me know! 😊

Is this actually this crappy?

Title.

I own a few Find Hub trackers, and this is undoubtedly the worst.

Main pros:

- Colours availability.

- Built-in hook.

Main cons:

- The plastic cover you have to lift to install the battery is *extremely* brittle, and the clips break like nothing.

- Not sure why or how, but it has a life of its own. It took me several attempts to pair it with the phone (it would just pair and then somehow stop updating and stop broadcasting BLE immediately after getting paired). And now, when I start moving the bag it's attached to, it starts beeping in some odd ways, like you're resetting it. Except it somehow *doesn't* get reset, it maintains the connection to the app and FMD network and keeps working (which is good, I guess...? except for the fact you'll want to throw it away for when it just starts beeping randomly in presence of other people).

It's a "Loshall Ring" (name it comes up with in Find Hub), sold under the brand/model Hoco E98A. Bought it for £6.23 on AliExpress (I know, I know).

Does anyone with the same tracker have the same issues?

Thant you!

5300/5500/6100/6300 in old charging case

Hello guys, I know it officially mentions it's not compatible, however, has anyone tried placing one of the above mentioned models, into the charging case "CP1716"?

Does anyone know if they fit/charge fine?

Thanks a lot!

Warranty: 3 -> 2 years ☹️ (Nespresso & You UK)

This is just a warning as I completely missed it when it came into effect. UK specific, I'm not sure about other countries.

Historically, as part of the Nespresso & You programme (at any level, so you qualified for one year by just buying a random number of pods) you also got 3 years of warranty on your machine.

Apparently, since the 11th May 2026, this has been changed to 2 years.

More info here: https://www.nespresso.com/uk/en/nespresso-and-you-expert

That's really sad, the 3-year warranty was very good added value for purchasing Nespresso-branded pods.

Surprisingly to me, they didn't "tier" it (i.e. 2 years for everyone, 3 years for customers at the Ambassador level, i.e. buying 1100+ pods/year).

Just a heads up for everyone out there who wasn't aware of this!

[UK promo] Pixel 10a 256GB + Buds 2a = £370 (VOXI)

As per the title, this is an excellent midrange and at that price it basically wipes away all the competition. And you even get a pair of Pixel Buds 2a for free!

Here's the link (no refs): https://www.voxi.co.uk/phones/google/pixel-10a

Bear in mind you'll also have to buy a SIM card with a VOXI plan (the cheapest being £10/month, which is how I've calculated the price in the title, i.e. £360 for the phone and £10 for the cheapest mandatory plan = £370), but you can cancel it right away (it doesn't tie you into a long term contract or anything like that - it's a 30-day rolling plan).

You can also pay for the phone via PayPal Credit in 12/24/30/36 monthly installments with no interest.

Shipping is free.

Only two colours are available (obsidian and lavender), and I'm not sure if the Pixel Buds 2a will come in matching colour or what.

The PB2a are to claim at least 14 days from the purchase day at this address (https://reward-promos.com/budsjuly2026) and the promo expires on the 22nd July (you must buy the phone within that date to be eligible to redeem the Buds 2a for free, and then you have until the 5th September to submit the claim).

To be honest, VOXI isn't half bad, have a look at their plans and allowances (and unlimited data for stuff like social/video/music apps) and also consider that their price is locked forever, so there won't be any yearly price increase or "inflation adjustment", ever.

If you're thinking of changing your phone, and don't want to spend for a flagship, this is IMHO the best thing money can buy under £600 (and it costs almost half that - and it also comes with free Pixel Buds!!).

Enjoy 😊

[UK] Pixel 10 Pro for £449-479 on Google Store (until 30/06)

As per the title, if you don't want a Pixel 11 Pro, I'd say now is the best time to buy a Pixel 10 Pro thanks to a combo of promos available.

  • there's a £250 discount on Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL

  • there's a £200 trade-in bonus when buying Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL

  • you can use Pixel Referral discount codes (10-15%) which are compatible with both the above promos and most importantly (and unusually), are applied to the "full" price (i.e. it's 10% off the RRP £999 and then you get £250 off and £200 off - not the other way around)

This makes a 128GB Pixel 10 Pro cost just £449 if you have a potato smartphone (see list below) to trade-in (£999 with 10% off = £899 - £250 - £200 = £449), or even more discounted if you have a phone that would be worth £50-100 under normal trade-in (which means now you'll get a £250-300 discount, thanks to the extra £200 on top of it).

If you don't have a phone to trade-in, you can get one off eBay for £10-30. Google will give you £200 for that phone. Which means you'll end up paying the Pixel 10 Pro £459-479.

Trade-in

Models eligible for trade-in, you can check here scrolling down in the page: https://store.google.com/config/pixel\_10\_pro

Some examples:

  • iPhone 7 Plus, 8, etc

  • Pixel 1-2-3-3a-4-4a and the XL versions

  • Nokia 3.1, 3.4,

  • Galaxy A03, A12, A15, A5, A6, J3, J6, J7, A7, A8, etc

  • OnePlus 5T, 6, 7, 8, etc

  • Xiaomi: loads of old cheap models

  • Huawei: same as above

  • Motorola: fewer models, but still some old popular ones

  • LG: K80, K70, K60, K40, K4, G7, V60, Q6, G8

  • Alcatel: 1, 1B, 1C, 1S, 3V, 3C, U3, U5

  • Honor: a few old models

  • Vodafone: a few old cheap models

It's pretty much guaranteed you have some of these at home, from either you, a sibling, parent, friend, etc. And if you don't, you can get one from eBay for less than two pizzas. And you'll get your £200 discount.

I have done this myself last year to move the whole family to Pixels, proof here: https://ibb.co/ycDvLFvd (on FB marketplace you'll likely get them for even cheaper)

(Little reminder: the phone to trade-in must be in working order - scuffs and scratches, normal wear & tear is perfectly fine, but cracks and other functional issues may void the trade-in)

Referrals

As for the Pixel Referral programme, ask your Pixel friends, or in Discord communities, or elsewhere (even in other subs here on Reddit).

I don't have codes, so I'm putting this out for all of you just for your own interest. Don't ask me for codes.

AND DON'T POST CODES IN THE COMMENTS.

Again:

THE RULES OF THIS SUB DON'T ALLOW SHARING REFERRAL CODES, IF YOU DO, YOU RISK GETTING BANNED.

And you risk the mods locking or deleting this thread, making a disservice to other Pixel users. Don't be a shitty redditor, thank you 🙏

For full clarity, if you use a referral code, the person who generated the code will receive £50 in Google Store credit (while you'll get at least a £100 discount, on the 128GB model, and even more if you get the 10 Pro XL or higher capacity).

If interested, you better hurry up, as the availability of models/colours is already extremely limited 🙂

Both the £250 off as well as the £200 trade-in bonus expire on the 30th June, but it's likely by then most colours and capacity variants will have already been gone out of stock, so don't wait.
