Ultra-intelligent psychopaths

Before "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991) there were already ultra-intelligent psychopaths, but Anthony Hopkins's interpretation made them fashionable to the point that Dexter (2006) or Hannibal (2013) are series that glorify them.

Which are your favorites?

Alice Morgan in the first episode of Luther

Culverton Smith in Sherlock: The Lying Detective

Joker in The Dark Knight

John Doe in Seven...

Movies or anthology series episodes that could have been part of TalesFromTheCrypt

Today I discovered that ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ and ‘Frighteners’ started as TV movies for Tales From the Crypt.

After "Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight" they should have been filmed "Dead Easy" and "Body Count", but they were replaced by the disappointing "Bordello of Blood".

My question is, what other films, TV movies, or television anthology episodes do you think could be sisters or successors to "Tales from the Crypt"?

Euro Cool Energetic Crime

Luc Besson, with Nikita (1990) and Leon (1994), revitalized the look of the Euro crime thriller, giving it a cooler and more stylized feel. What examples of this subgenre can you think of?

Exploitations of Downey's Iron Man not made by Marvel

Yesterday I was watching the Korean blockbuster Alienoid and I thought it was clearly an Iron Man exploitation. It featured some weird guy in high-tech armor chatting to his sarcastic AI. However, Depp's Mortdecai also feels like a derivative, since it uses Iron Downey's girlfriend and the actor who voices his robot butler. Can you think of any more examples?

What are the best detective-themed episodes from any series you can think of?

I was thinking today about Columbo and all those wonderful episodes where he plays with the killer, while pretending to be silly, until he manages to incriminate him. Give me your top detective episodes. The ones that impressed you.

Easter eggs

I love easter eggs like Dan Garrett, the first Blue Beatle, being Indiana Jones or Spiderman being evil in this universe, but retaining his characteristic humor. Which ones are your favorites?

Films made in what is understood as Southeast Asia:

Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Filipinas, Butan, Birmania...

That they function as an equivalent of European fairy tales.

In The Duel of the Century (1981), Lu Xiaofeng is a Columbo type investigator (fake clumsy). Can you think of any other examples of martial arts films with detective plots?

▲ 84 r/Shazam

We're in an era where Superman has many active pastiches like Homelander, Omni-Man, Utopian... Mark Millar did one of Captain Marvel with Superior, but I wonder what other Captain Marvel pastiches you know of

▲ 478 r/Moebius

I was thinking about how similar Frank Quitely's style is to Moebius, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in citing artists who are clearly inspired by Jean Giraud. You could also mention cartoons like Dragon's Heaven (1988).
