Level 4 ADV light location

I’m looking for a mid drive ebike for recreation and fun. I think I have it narrowed down to the Level 4 ADV or the Discover M. I’m leaning towards the Level 4 but I’ll know more after I test ride the Discover M later this week.

My biggest issue with the Level 4 is that the tail light / brake light / turn signal is all the way down by the rear axle, so not very visible, where the Discover M has the lights on or just under the rack.

Is there any way to add additional lights to the Level 4 that run off the battery and are activated with the turn signals and brakes?

How to know if I still need CPAP?

I’ve been on CPAP for about 15 months, and have had a pretty easy time of it. I even have a second machine (AirMini) for travel.

I’ve been on a GLP-1 for almost 4 months, and have lost a good amount of weight. According to SleepHQ my AHI is consistently under 1.

Should I try to get another sleep study from my doc? Or are there metrics in SleepHQ or OSCAR that would help me figure out if I still need CPAP?

I guess I could just try a night or two without to see if I’m snoring like I was before I started - my spouse would certainly let me know. :)

1st banjo for both styles?

I’m just coming home from a week at a music and dance camp in Mendocino where I learned both 3 finger and clawhammer playing on an open back Goodtime that I borrowed from a friend.

I kind of fell in love with both styles, and I need to return his instrument so like countless others I’m seeking advice.

Will I get dirtier looks at an Old Time jam if I show up with a resonator, or at a Blurgrass jam if I show up with an open back.

I’d like to spend under $1,000 if that’s feasible.

Borrowing a travel banjo for beginner classes?

I'm going to a music and dance camp, and there are a couple of beginner banjo classes that look interesting (I'm mainly a mandolin player). A friend has offered to loan me her travel banjo - would that work for a beginning clawhammer and a beginning bluegrass class? I don't know what keys the tunes in the classes are going to be in, but I suspect that I'll have the only traveler.

Not sure if it's worth it

I've been on the juice since April 20th, and I've lost a bit over 20 pounds. My clothes fit or fit better, and at the gym I'm certainly moving better. However, the constant stomach pain / awareness, the never ending constipation, the not being hungry or able to eat a meal out with friends is really bringing me down. I used to love food - back in January I was lucky enough to get a table to Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas, one of the finest restaurants in the world. I've eaten at many Michelin 3 star restaurants, and I loved each experience.

I feel like my joy of fine food is gone, and I'm in somewhat constant discomfort. Maybe I should just go back to being fat and happy.

Any reason to carry the key fob?

With my phone (or even just my watch) acting as a Digital Key for my new '26 PHEV XSE, is there any reason to carry the physical key fob? It's quite a bit larger than the one for my last car, and seems like it may be redundant.

How do I make it stop beeping at me when I'm parking??

I picked up my '26 PHEV XSE yesterday, and so far I like it! However, I have a pretty small detached one car garage down a very narrow driveway between 2 houses (house is over 112 years old).

The car beeps at me constantly as I'm pulling back, although I can see I have plenty of room. When I back into the garage, it slams on the brakes and screeches constantly at me, since I need to get the pack pretty close to the wall for the garage door to close.

How do I get it to shut up?!?! *I'M* the driver, let me drive and park as I need to in my garage.

This is exceptionally loud and annoying, if not downright alarming. I certainly couldn't park in the garage like this with my spouse in the car, she's very sensitive to loud noises, especially beeps and alarms like the car is giving me.

App to replace Orange Theory classes

I’m a 59 year old man on a GLP-1, and am committed to working out 3 times a week so I don’t lose what little muscle I have.

I’ve been going to Orange Theory, and I love the complete full body workout feeling. However, I don’t love the coaches or limiting my workouts to align with their class times.

There are a few gyms near me, but I don’t know what to do at them. I’ve seen mentions of apps like Fitbod, Shred, and Ladder here on Reddit, but am having some decision paralysis. I care a lot less about cost than I do about feeling like I’m getting in better shape.

Thanks for any help, advice, or thoughts!

My PHEV XSE is here!

My RAV4 is off the boat from Japan, and should arrive at the dealership tomorrow. I’m going in on Tuesday to test drive and almost certainly buy it. :)

Anything I should be aware of? Anything to be sure to check for? It’ll be my first RAV4.

Wood table needs refinishing

We've got a 20 year old table that could use a pro to strip, sand, stain, and finish it. It has a pattern of radial grain from the center of the table, so not as straightforward as just a slab of wood.

Do you know anyone on the island who can do this, and do it well?

Nvidia Spark

Apparently it beats the M5, so if you’re doing AI/LLM stuff, buy an Nvidia machine and leave some Mac Mini’s for the rest of us! :)

Cortana Halo 5 USB from E3 2015

I was going through my endless drawer of USB drives and came across this one. It was a giveaway at the Microsoft booth at E3 in 2015 for Halo 5, and it has game trailers and the audio series Hunt The Truth.

Would this be of any interest to a collector?

Buy an M4 or wait until WWDC?

I’m wanting a Mac Mini, but I’ve been worried about Apple announcing the M5 next month.

It just occurred to me to wonder if it would really make any difference? The M4 wouldn’t be any less capable.

What would I miss out on with the M5? This would be for a home computer, not running AI / LLM or doing production level content editing.

I guess I could order the M4, since even if it came next week I’d still be within the 2 week return window if M5 gets announced at WWDC.

Thinking of getting my first Mac

I've been a PC gamer for decades, but now that I'm retired I'm thinking of making my crazy powerful desktop PC a games only machine with Bazzite, and getting a Mac for my spouse and me. At a quick glance, just about every app I use is optimized for MacOS.

I think the Mac Mini is the way to go, although as a longtime PC builder I find it odd that you can't actually add more RAM or drives. Looking at the ordering site, the basic unit has 16GB RAM. Knowing full well that I don't know how MacOS handles memory, that seems like a very small amount. If I'm running Fusion 360, Inkscape, GiMP, a ton of browser tabs, and sharing the machine with another user who's mostly just using it to browse the web, is 16 really enough?

I'm also a bit flummoxed that there's a 3 month wait for a computer that was launched in 2024.

Any gotchas, hints, or tips for someone who's used PC's since DOS 3.3 coming to the light side? :)

Flyover!

I didn’t get pics or video, but there was a 7 plane flyover during the National Anthem - so cool!! Anyone know who that was or what kind of planes they were flying?

26 PHEV XSE quote. Reasonable price?

This is the full out the door price, finance or cash. Taxes here (Alameda County in the SF Bay Area) are quite high.

What to play between Expedition 33 and Clockwork Revolution?

I've played through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 enough times that I think I'm finally ready to bid it a fond Adieu. Before that I loved Avowed, and now I'm waiting for Clockwork Revolution so I'm looking for something to fill the gap. I started Ghost of Tsushima, but I'm not that into Japanese culture or Samurai movies, and I'm finding the combat tedious. I enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077 and was thinking of maybe giving that another go.

I haven't played an Assasin's Creed since Brotherhood, was thinking of maybe getting Origins, which seems to be the first of the modern series of AC games.

I'm open to ideas. I care MUCH more about story and characters than about combat, and I do love good puzzles and quests.
