Currently prototyping a millionth iteration of my game, and with some extremely helpful advice from this sub, I've gotten something I like. However, when I was talking about it with my partner, they had made a really good point and I'd love to hear others' opinions on the topic.

System Context.

Dice pool system -- d6 * Trait score. each 4+ is a success, TN is how many successes to pass check.

In combat, you have 3 actions per turn, during which you make checks. These can be for anything, from breaking through a wall to attacking an enemy (which gives you a bonus weapon die in addition to your trait). Each success gives you a Style die.

At the end of your turn (or a later one if you like) you can perform a Finisher by using all of your accrued Style dice. This is how you deal damage to enemies.

In my mind, the loop is to use character abilities and make stylish attacks to gain momentum and then to cap it off with one big move that ends the combo so to speak. No matter what you do during your turn, you're building up Style. It's a setup and payoff system.

My partner made the point that if you can't be dealing damage with your regular actions, it feels pointless to act during them at all.

I'm curious to hear others opinions on this.

I'm looking for an amp. This is going to be my very first bass amp, for a long time I've been using a shitty little thing I got an amazon 6 years ago. I'd like a real amp that I can use to jam with people. I've taken a look through this sub's wiki and its recommendations, but I want to hear some recommendations from people based on personal experience. Where should a beginner jammer get started?

I'm also looking into some headphones for practicing. I've heard some great things about the Fender Mustang Micro, but I'm unsure if it would be good for me. I really like to play along to songs, it's a good way for me to get warmed up. So a headphone adapter that allows me to plug in my phone or something would be awesome. Is that a thing?

A few months ago, my computer started booting up differently. It'd show the logo (i assume of the motherboard, i didn't get into the guts of this thing myself until very recently forgive me), and then the screen goes black and an underscore typing cursor blinks a couple times in the top left, then down and to the right a little, back up to top left, and back to logo, and finally to the log in screen.

I'm getting concerned now because lately it has been showing "Hitman Pro 3.8.50" before returning to logo and log in. I do have it installed, and I have it run a scan immediately when I log in automatically, does it have something to do with that?

Please sanity check me. Is this serious?

My name is Natalia, most people call me Tasha nowadays. I use (it/its) and would describe myself as transfeminine.

I'm so desperate for more people to play fighting games with you don't understand 😭 The only people I can find that play these games are either so good and sweaty that i can't have fun, or genuinely the most god awfully-mannered and mean people in the world (it's always men). Don't get me wrong, I do have people that I play with, but it's getting difficult only relying on two people's schedules and moods to get my fix...

I pretty much exclusively play on PC. I do sometimes bring out my old xbox one and my switch, but I never do multiplayer on those platforms.

The fighting games I play include Guilty Gear XRD Rev2 (which is the one im actually like, unbelievably desperate to play with someone), Strive, Skullgirls, Rising Thunder, Them's Fighting Herds (though I've barely touched it), King of Fighters 2002, 2XKO, and Footsies (best fighting game dont @ me)

Other games multiplayer games I love include Helldivers 2, Overwatch 2, Destiny 2 (lots of 2s happening here), Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Monster Hunter World, Earth Defense Force 6, and Marathon. (I'm also a Halo: Reach FREAK but no one seems to care for it anymore so.)

Some singleplayer games I love include the Sims 4 (im primarily a builder/decorator, but i do enjoy actually playing the game if others are hanging out with me too), UNBEATABLE!!!, Sayonara Wildhearts, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Plague Inc, Metro 2033, and Sonic games in general.

I've been described as very eccentric and also chill to a worrying degree. I'm kinda all over the spectrum. I'm REAL normal just in general :)

I'm extremely an artist. I spend a lot of time drawing, or working on my TTRPG. I'm a bassist, but have fallen out of practice since I gave my bass to my niece who's been borrowing her friend's every rehearsal (she's in a band!! at like 15!! it's so cool!!), but once I get a new one no one will be able to contain me. I do play a little guitar and piano but that's mostly out of necessity. I'm a writer, I've been working on a comic in between my other projects for a while, and I like to write essays to make sure I keep that muscle (i usually delete them afterwards, but the act of writing them in the first place puts stuff in my head and keeps it there for some time which i enjoy and appreciate).

As a result, I really love to talk a Lot about a thing if given the chance -- sharing art, talking about my projects, topics that are of interest; i also deeply enjoy when others do the same <3 bring the passion, more passion energy.

I work at a psychiatric facility and as such have a lot of stuff to say about the brain <3 I also work graveyard shift, so I tend to be asleep during normal business hours and awake when most others in the US are asleep. Either one of these tend to be a dealbreaker.

I would describe myself as politically aware, and my personal politics will put many people off. If you're a leftist, we'll agree on many things. More than anything, though, I value kindness and honesty. I cannot trust anyone with deep hatred in their heart, and whose word I cannot trust. I'm a deeply loyal thing, I will be in your corner if you need me -- all i want is the same in return.

Hi, just came across an old 7th generation ipod nano. Still works great!! Finding that it only has a 14.7 gb capacity was a little disappointing, though. Plenty for a few large playlists and good albums, but I'd really like to be able to jack a good chunk of my library into it.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go to find someone who'd be willing to add a few gigs to this thing?

After a great many moons of using D Pad and giving my left thumb calluses, my partner got me an Haute42. It worked really quite well for some time, but -- and ive noticed this while playing a certain rhythm game with it -- it's starting to double input!! it's really quite frustrating.

So it's time I upgraded. I have no idea where to look. My partner has a hitBOX, and i really do quite like the buttons on that thing, but I wish it had a WASD style movement rather than the ASD/Space layout. I also really appreciate the size and weight of that thing -- the Haute42 is so small for my big manly hands.

Anyone have any recommendations?

EDIT: It seems I need to clarify. My Haute42 has regular buttons (not mechanical keycaps) and the movement buttons are laid out as though they are WASD. HITbox does not have that, and instead the upper button (which would be in the W position) is at the thumb.

I am diagnosed bipolar with psychotic features. had awful experiences meditating for the longest time, ever since i was small -- in retrospect my first time meditating was shortly after it all started.

i felt grasping at me, and feeling me, breathing in me. in the distance whispers formed and crowded the eigengrau behind the vastless forms. it was deeply distressing. scared me off from meditation for years.

tried again a few years ago with a friend who guided me through doorways in my inner spatial world -- was very strange having another actor participating in that space. they were worried, they told me, of how many spaces they did not want to risk going through. i was really glad they didn't, and likely it was safer for their help.

ive been medicated for 2 years, and a few months ago had my meds changed up a bit -- antipsychotic doubled, stabilizer started. since then i can count on my hands how many positive symptoms ive noticed. i feel, for the first time, completely safe in my own head -- the fear of Returning notwithstanding.

recently read David Lynch's book, Catching the Bug Fish. he mentions transcendental meditation, to the tune of "sound. vibration. thought." ive been meditating before sleep every day, and have had genuinely incredible sleep!! today im starting to meditate when im awake too, and the deeply quiet and calm space is overwhelming. minutes pass like seconds and i relax so deeply. it is magical, no other word for it.

i have started the mantra "sound. vibration. thought. sensation." instead, more rhythmically sound. i prefer it.

Hi, I have a potentially silly question. I've been using Musicbee for 6 months, and I'm starting to get to the point where I'd like to have some individual songs for the sake of playlists, without necessary having the full album. However, this will, when showing the library in album view, show a bunch of albums of single songs which is undesirable. In album view, I'd like to only show full albums, but still have access to individual songs for playlists. Is this only possible with multiple music libraries? Is there another solution? I'd prefer another solution. Thank you!! <3<3<3

I'm wanting to make a new Tumblr account. That being said, I like the people I follow, and I'd like to preserve my following list. I have close to 1k blogs I'm following, and the idea of manually typing in each blog and clicking follow for each one is making my eye twitch batty.

Ideally there'd be an export AND and import option, but if only export is possible I can live with that -- at least spread that manual work out over a few months rather than all at once.

I figured if anyone knew how to do this, they'd be on this sub. Any advice?
