I'm ready to buy my first DAW console controller.
After a lot of research I realized that the Avid S3 is the closest to all of my needs. I know it's discontinued and that it's going to be out of support by the end of the year.
Given that I have no plans to upgrade my Cubase 14 Pro, Win11 in the next three four years - do you think I can expect a smooth experience? Or am I expected to face troubles due to dated software?

After 4 years with my MSR WhisperLite it stopped working. I would have bothered fixing it but it does have one major problem: There’s no simmering!!!!
So now I’m looking for a new liquid gas stove. I’m trying to stick with my habit of buying western made products, so I guess it narrows down to the Primus MultiLite TI, and the Optimus Polaris Optifuel.
Do you have any experience with these two and can tell me which one you likes and why, and of course - can it simmer….!?

As you can see in the video, starting from this morning my Cubase has these dropouts. Nothing has changed in the setup or even in the project. I’ve been mixing it for the last couple days, and didn’t add any plugins, didn’t add channels, just tweaking what’s already there.
Same thing happens on much lighter projects I have….

I own an Amazfit Balance.
I found that on a sunny day of north California I can't read the time without touching the watch. Once the watch is back to normal display the sensor does a great job at adjusting the brightness to maximum so I can read everything clearly, but on AOD it seems not to do it at all.
Isn't the point of AOD is to be able to read the time without having the watch switched to normal display?

Yesterday I’ve happily made my first from-scratch watch face. I used the web based Zepp app, and the was some frustrating learning curve, but after 2 hours I had a basic watchface that I loved and it’s already installed on my watch.
Do you know of some downloadable package of files that include every single PNG needed for each of the watch face item?
Do you find the desktop version better (over the online version)? Or maybe a 3rd party (that’s free)?
Do you know if I can use the faces on the Zepp app as a starting point? Is there a way I can download some package file and tweak it on a watchface editor?

I have both the Capitol mastering compressor , and the API 2500 compressor. Both have sidechain option.
I want to use them to free up the space for the vocal. Given that I’m not looking for too much coloring on that slot (I do have another compressor on instrumentals bus that gives me the color I like) is there anyone of these two you would prefer to just mildly attenuate the whole instrumental bus in reaction to vocal track?
*** I know everyone today is hyping the Sooth / multiband for that particular purpose. I want to try it with plugins I already have.
A few months ago I started to have some gremlin like issues on Channel 3 of my 4-710D. So I thought I'd just send it to their lab, and pay whatever is needed to have it fully inspected and repaired. Given that this device was traveling with me all over the world, I thought it's a good opportunity to have it cleaned, inspected, repaired and generally speaking - reset.
It was a challenge to just figure out how to open a ticket (thank you Reddit community for solving this problem for me!)
I've opened a ticket explaining very simply exactly what I explained here.
Few days later I get a long email with instructions of how to inspect and fix it myself.
I replied that I'd be happy if UA's ppl would do that. And since then I'm in back and forth emails of them asking me to do this and that inspection, and get back with the result. It's pretty exhausting and mostly time consuming, so instead of just shipping it and have it fixed, I'm stuck for weeks with a faulty machine and an endless emails.
I'm starting to doubt myself - is it too much to just ask for an inspection and repair service? Isn't it the most normal thing when dealing with high end products?

I think I scrolled through every possible menu / option both on the watch, and on the Zepp app. I still get these annoying notifications which I don’t care about.
I only got this watch so I can have multiple reminders / timers / alarms without needing to have my phone with me all the time. I don’t nee anything else. Heartbeat / steps count / route tracking…. all of these things are unnecessary for me. What’s the best way to get rid of them?

logged into the Uaudio.com website, trying to contact them in order to have my 4-710 shipped to their service center.
The only way is either through a chatbot that says that it can not rout me to a service center, or on the phone where they say they don’t provide support on the phone.

I have another question about exporting stems to send to the mixing engineer….
Is there an easy way to send dry tracks given that I already rough mixed the songs?
What does “Effects: disabled (dry)” include?
Inserts?
Sends?
Does it ignore the fader?
Does it ignore panning (in case of stereo tracks)?
And what about groups? Does it ignore the process I have on groups my audio tracks are sent to?
- At the moment I save a copy of each project/song and I “Unmix” it - remove all groups, inserts, sends, automations, panning, resetting faders. Am I working too hard? Is there a shortcut I’m not aware of?

Is there a way to export all of them at once and have them exported in their own each configuration? Or do I have to do one batch of mono tracks and one batch of stereo tracks?
