People say that lion turtles giving people bending contradicts them learning it from animals, but the lion turtles stopped giving people bending once Wan closed the spirit portals. Maybe people had to rediscover bending by learning from the animals?

On the sides of the buildings in the Zaofu ruins, you can see this purple paneling on the sides of the buildings. It looks a lot like the spirit vine tech the Earth Empire developed. Could the spirit vine tech be related to the cataclysm somehow?

1. Aang - Of all the lightningbenders we see, Aang is most likely the worst, only learning to redirect lightning a few days before the finale. He also messed up his relationship with Katara for most of the show, but he saved it at the end

2. Zuko - He is the second worst, also only knowing how to redirect lightning. Mai breaks up with him in the comics but the door is open for them to get back together

3. Iroh - He is a notable lightningbender for being one of three who can both shoot lighning and redirect it. He also invented lightning redirection. Lu Ten’s mother is not shown or discussed once, not even in flashbacks. This leaves us to assume she either died or broke up with Iroh

4. Ozai - Iroh states that in a battle between the two, he’s not sure he could beat Ozai. That, combined with his extremely fast lightning generation after the eclipse, shows that Ozai is most likely a better lightningbender than his brother. He also had to basically kidnap Ursa because no woman would date him, despite being a prince.

5. Azula - She is shown to be able to create lightning and redirect it (comics). Her lightning nearly kills Zuko when he redirects it during Sozin’s Comet, while Ozai’s only hurt Aang a bit. She is also incapable of having a normal human conversation.

6. Mako - He can redirect lightning and shoot it. He is able to create lightning nearly instantly, even when being bloodbent. He has also executed the greatest fumble of all time, losing both a millionaire and the Avatar, despite them both being quite attracted to him.

Also does anyone else find it odd that Amon and Tarrlok are from the north, I could have sworn they were from the south but I guess I misremembered that
