The anti whole life crowd

Find it interesting that so many are against it, but there is a core of those that understand and believe that permanent life insurance is good.

If someone comments that is an agent that sells whole life, but the reddit poster already has it, it's not like they are trying to sell you something. You would think that possibly professionals in the industry might know a thing or two and have experience with people that leave their families in a lurch because their term expired, especially later in life when their "growth stock mutual funds" didn't perform as expected or the person actually never invested the difference.

I've seen so many (in my own family) that died at 57, 65, 70, 79 without life insurance and the surviving spouse now has to go on government assistance or worse live with their 20 something children (yes that's me) because the bread winner didn't guarantee the surviving spouse would be okay.

Case in point, my ex-wife's parents. He was a 30+ year retired veteran with a guaranteed retirement. Died at 57 from a heart attack, plus had cancer from agent orange (3 tours on an AC 130 gunship in Nam) and no SSB (survivor benefits plan) Us, 22 and 21 had to live with my mother-in-law for over 10 years. Did that fuck up our relationship? I'm guess it did have something to do with it, not 100% but it sure kills the "mood" when you hear her snoring over in the next room.

I'm just stating my personal belief and I'm sure this will get downvoted or even possibly deleted and I get banned. But I'm sick of seeing all the nonsense.

Dog ate my Postman's

Sad day. Came home to find this. Contacted Redwing and they are not repairable.... Sending them to a cobbler to hopefully be able stitch a cap over it. They don't offer these anymore. I was so mad.

Dog ate my shoes is there hope?

So the dog decided that really nice leather on my Redwing 9016 (Postman Chukka's) was tasty. I contacted Redwing and they said they are not repairable. So I'm wondering if there is a way to stitch maybe a leather cap over it? Could maybe do both and make it look like it was designed that way? Thoughts?

Dividend Increase pretty suprised

Looking over a recent statement from a recent policy last year dividend to this year projected dividend went up 50.36%. This policy was put in force back in 2022. Not to bad for such a horrible place to put money.

We are now creating that tailwind that is talked about in BYOB page 18.

The dividend increase will happen each year no matter what. Some years it may be better and some years not as good.

Also note these are pretty small policies (like $2k a year with base+pua)

Also note once a dividend is declared it cannot be taken away and affords for the uninterrupted compounding. Those dividends will now be added to the cash value which will then compound even further. It doesn't take 20+ years for these things to start working efficiently.

2006 powerstroke

Purchased used with 197K in 2024, still has 197k. Between electrical gremlins that drained 2 sets of batteries. The High pressure oil pump, and now a slipping trans and other issues I'm sick of sinking money into it. Just want to get rid of it, but hate the thought of selling another headache to someone. Paid $14k. Wondering what's the best way to get rid of it. I feel sick at the loss of $14k. This has been my worst vehicle purchase out of 20 to say the least.

Military shave profiles

Lots of talk about the new Secretary of War stopping any permanent shaving profiles due to Razor bumps, medically known as pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB), are ingrown hairs that occur when shaved hair curls back and re-enters the skin, causing inflammation, redness, and itching.

Wondering why they don't teach better shaving techniques to people. A DE single blade razor only doing with the grain should help solve most of the problems.

Becoming You Own Banker Audio

Periodically I'll listen to the audio book of BYOB, and even after 12 years after my introduction to the Infinite Banking Concept I still get ideas and pick up on things I hadn't thought of before. Not sure if the link is allowable on this sub. But you can search for it on Audible.

What’s it like to be an Agent?

Hey everyone,

I recently decided to close my art store. I was wondering a few things. The art gallery I had was at a very slow mall and I decided I’d start selling insurance. Possibly getting my license in other states as well. I’m studying now and I’ve taken the exam 7 times in early February and March. Couldn’t pass it. Sucks and it’s embarrassing I was hoping to use it as a secondary income.

I’d prefer to travel and do calls while I’m in the road photographing and when I’m in town Interact I’m planning to get 4 licenses, life, health, auto, home.

I’ve seen the commissions, it’s way better than selling art or martial arts ( I own a school as well ).

In order to make a decent living, what should I expect? My other business art and martial arts mostly do better at night anyways.

  1. What are the days like what should u be doing?
  2. Do the leads from your insurance companies actually convert ?
  3. From let’s say 9am-4pm what is a typical day and work flow. What should I be doing to max my results in earnings?
  4. Since I’ll be an independent agent will have time to be on the road and travel ?
  5. I’ve seen insurance agents that have files on there houses for years. Is there a CRM for this? Or does your agency usually store them.
  6. I hear the busy season for health is November ? Because everyone is renewing, would the other licenses keep me afloat ?
  7. Once I get my license what are some common mistakes beginners do so they don’t end up in a bad situation ?

Thanks everyone.

Happy Independence Day (United States)

I know I'm so thankful for MLM to help us become financially independent!

**Happy 250 years of America!**

One of the greatest freedoms we have isn't just the freedom to speak or vote—it's the freedom to build.

To start a business.
To create value.
To bet on yourself.
To earn based on your effort instead of waiting for someone else to decide what you're worth.

That's why I've always appreciated entrepreneurship, including network marketing.

Is it perfect? No. Neither is owning a restaurant, starting a plumbing company, launching an online business, or investing in real estate. Every business model has people who succeed, people who fail, and people who do it the wrong way.

At its best, network marketing is simply capitalism in action. Independent people voluntarily buying products they believe in, sharing them with others, and earning commissions for creating value. No one is forced to participate. Customers choose to buy. Entrepreneurs choose to build.

This Independence Day, I'm grateful we still live in a country where someone with little capital, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn can build something of their own.

Whether your business is selling lubricants, insurance, software, lawn care, coffee, or products through a direct sales company, you're participating in one of the greatest ideas ever created: the free market.

Here's to independence—not just politically, but financially, professionally, and personally.

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

Elderly people getting mugged

I don't consider myself elderly (56) but I keep seeing all these old people that get mugged, killed etc and wonder will this be me someday?

I've been carrying on and off all my life. I'd say last 10 years I've become hyper vigilant about my surroundings, where I am going, time of day and of course exercising my 2A.

I'm already thinking later in life about getting a self protection k9. I always sit back to a wall. Scan parking lots when exiting and returning to a vehicle and try not to go to bad places even if I am armed.

I see my awareness level / vigilance going up, not going down. Now with all the news out there with elderly people it gives me anxiety, will this be me someday?

Are WordPress comments a thing anymore?

Been doing WordPress since about 2010. In the past I'd get lots of useful comments on posts, some that were in the hundreds.

Lately it's all spam comments, and I'm just thinking about disabling all comments.

While this also may be an SEO question. Is it worthwhile to continue to work on getting legitimate comments to help boost the website?

New born baby and we are looking for life insurance

Hi, I just became a dad, and my wife and I are looking for life insurance for our baby. We did set up a Trump account, and we want to do more. Like health insurance and life insurance. We just want to make sure that it could benefit my kid in the long run, and we want to have a reliable insurance company so we could put money in every month. Recommendation needed

Is there a way to update Elementor Pro without paying for a subscription?

My developer that ended up flaking out (and scamming me out of money) used Elementor Pro for a website. I don't have a way to update it and I don't need to have the Pro right now since I'm not doing any more development. But the plugin needs updating (has for over 2 years now)

"There is a new version of Elementor Pro available. View version 4.1.2 details or update now."

Any suggestions?

Just refinanced to NFCU

Bought a new truck end of march. Used the NFCU refinance program and got my rate down from 5.69% with Wells Fargo down to 4.49%. Also put $20K down during the refinance do drop the required payment by $358. I'm planning on setting up a little extra on the repayment so I can save on some interest. Pretty smooth process.

Starting a business on active duty

Things I wish I would have done when I was on active duty is starting a business. Any active duty folks have a side hustle? If so, what do you do?

I'll always remember one of our HHC officers that bought the first subway franchise back in the early 90's. Sounded crazy at the time, but I was a 21 year old E-4. After becoming an entrepreneur in 2000 I often think back and ask myself why didn't I start something...

70+ polices on 27 lives

Jayson Lowe talking about his family banking system. Has over $6 mil in cash value. Charges family 10% on loans, it's not negotiable. Also if they default without renegotiaton of loan terms they are "out" permanently. #LifeInsuranceSummit.

New Truck loan, payoff.

New Truck loan, payoff.

Got a new truck a couple months ago. Just took a policy loan to put down 30%, now refinancing to get a lower payment through a bank (I know it's not 100% IBC) but I wanted to keep some liquid capital.

Now my payment will go from $1300 to $700. So should I pay extra on the truck note or should I take the extra and pay back the policy loan? Interest on the policy is is 5.3% (variable) and the interest on the note is 4.5%.

Would love to hear your thoughts.
