Need a place to sleep for one night.

Hey guys,

I am heading to kelowna for a couple days, but I messed up my travel dates, and ending up staying in kelowna for an extra night.

I just need to find a place to sleep for one night because my air bnb is booked from Tuesday to thursday, but I'm leaving Friday afternoon.

Ideally, my budget is 60 to 100 bucks for the night, ( I know that's not enough considering it's Kelowna, but worth a shot if possible)

Going later in mid July, so if anyone has any recommendations, that'd be great!

Thanks

Good AutoShop/Repair Shop in Richmond?

Hey guys,

So I just received a cash settlement of $4900 from ICBC for my car. It's a 2006 Porsche Cayenne Sport Champagne Gold Colour.

I recently got in a hit and run accident, and long story short, ICBC had said the damages are more expensive than what they can pay out, but I feel like I can fix the car at a much lower cost than what RichCity Collision Repairs (Autoshop in richmond) had said. The damages they quoted was around $6,200.

I am basically looking for a private mechanic that can help me repair the car at a lower cost, and do some additional mechanical work, as I think there is an oil leak in my car, so I would want to take my car to an autoshop that does both mechanical and repair work.

I am really trying to ensure that it's within my budget, which is $4900, from what ICBC had given me.

Any advice or recommendations would be great!

Thanks guys

Trying to get as much funds as possible

Hey guys,

Just wanted to thank you all for being such a supportive community. I posted a thread a while back, and the messages and responses I got from all of you truly helped me, and everytime I get that itch to gamble, I just hop on this channel and read all the posts including my own, to remind myself to not go back.

Only clean about a week, but it's start. The biggest test for me was when I got my first paycheque 3 days ago, and I'm SO glad I didn't end up gambling it away.

However, I just want to ask, for anyone living in CANADA specifically, do you guys have Koho? And if not, would you guys please dm me?

Thanks so much guys!

ICBC Cash Settlement - HELP

Hey guys,

I need some advice on an ICBC hit-and-run claim for my 2006 Porsche Cayenne. The police report is filed, I'm 100% not at fault, and my deductibles were fully waived. ICBC is part of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

The body shop’s repair estimate came back at $6,827.36. Because the bill is so high, ICBC flagged it. The estimator let me know that ICBC's absolute maximum repair cap for my vehicle is $4,950.00, but they are offering me a $4,000.00 cash settlement instead of fixing it.

I have a few questions:

  1. Why is ICBC offering me a lower cash settlement ($4k) if their own official repair cap for my car is $4,950?
  2. Where did they even get that $4,950 number from? Is that a percentage based on what they think my current car value is?
  3. How can I negotiate or counter-offer to get closer to that $4,950 ceiling?

I just want to get my car safely back on the road with the least amount of money coming out of my pocket. I know BC’s Enhanced Care (no-fault) rules mean I can’t go after the actual hit-and-run driver’s insurance, so I’m stuck dealing entirely with ICBC.

Has anyone successfully countered an ICBC cash settlement offer before? How should I word my reply to the adjuster to get the max amount?

Appreciate any insight!

12k in Debt - PLEASE HELP ME

Hey guys.

This is so embarrassing. I feel so shit writing this, but I am currently in 12 thousand dollars of debt.

Maxxed out both credit cards - one with $5000 and the other with $4000

I also am sitting at -450 bucks through my debit account, since my dumbass thought having overdraft protection would be a good idea.

I earn about $1500/month, working part time. Problem is, I cant find another job, because my work permit is legally tied to the employer I am currently working for.

Opportunity to find fulltime employment is not an option, and this all happened because I decided to gamble my life savings away, which i lost all $35k to gambling.

I already cancelled my credit cards and reached out to set up a payment plan with the creditor, which is now sorted, but i basically have no money, and I am just so distraught from what I did.

I lost everything in less than 8 hours... Within a blink of an eye all my money is gone, and now I am not sure what I should do.
