I've had my Sight (2023, L, 29" wheels) since February, really like it, but didn't realise until I tried my friend's 27.5 YT the other day how much friskier smaller wheels felt.

What would I do if I wanted to try out 27.5 wheels on my Sight? Is it as simple as taking the current wheels off and putting on smaller ones, or does it require a different linkage or other things for it to ride well?

(Mostly ride trails in North Vancouver, bit of time at Squamish, not got as far as Whistler this year)

I'm in Vancouver but hoping to attend a game in Seattle some time this season. Up here, tickets haven't been too expensive (we got four season tickets for about US$450 each, and last year single tickets were going for C$50-$100). What's it been like at Climate Change?

In the first mission, Bond climbs through a window and finds a discarded coat from one of the mercs. But we never see that merc, and all the guys walking around outside have coats on because it's cold. So where is the coatless Merc?

I booked YHZ - YEG - YVR to get my wife and kids home from Halifax to Vancouver, because that was the route WestJet showed me, and a direct flight was much more expensive.

What I didn't realise at the time was that there's only 55 minutes between the scheduled arrival from Halifax, and the departure from Edmonton.

Am I getting worried over nothing, or is it likely that if there's a delay leaving Halifax/the plane arriving at the gate in Edmonton that they're be denied boarding (and then rage at me for planning a trip for them with a short stop over?)

Given there's 3 more WestJet flights from Edmonton to Vancouver later that day, I'm assuming if they missed they'd get moved to a later flight ... but is that also an incorrect assumption?

... Or maybe, why isn't there one? (Or at least Asian-adjacent)

Take a look at some of the other cuisines and how many there are of each:

If you believe Google, there's about 14,000 McDonalds, 6,500 Burger Kings, 3,500 Sonics, 2,000 Jack In The Box ... look, there's a lot of burgers.

Something like 8,000 KFC, Wingstop and Buffalo Wild Wings.

13,000 pizza huts and dominos

Taco Bell + Chipotle? About 12,000

Panda Express: 2,500.

So why not more? Is it: (possible explanations, I'm not sure any of these are true or not)

* You can't eat it one handed, so it's no good if you want to hit the drive thru and eat while driving home

* You can't get the staff: it's not like operating a fryer? Well, yes, but that's an operational issue, it doesn't have to be Jiro Dreams Of Sushi, there's a billion people in China alone, somebody has solved the mass-production problem

* People don't like Chinese food/Thai food/Korean food/Japanese food: flavours don't confirm to the average American palate (but if you believe that, how come there's all those Taco Bells? It doesn't have to be authentic)

* Kids don't like Chinese food/Thai food/Korean food/Chinese food because it's too spicy/they don't like lemongrass/something else like that (well, just make it blander, it's not like the chains are hyper focussed on authenticity, see above)

* There's not enough Chinese/Thai/Korean/Malaysian/Japanese/... Americans for it to be viable (Chinese Americans make up 1.5% of the population (again, let's just pretend Google is infallible here) vs 20% Latino/Hispanic (excuse my terminology here, that's what Google spat out when I asked about Mexican Americans)) well, 5-6% of Americans are Italian Americans, it's not just them eating pizza...

* Sandwich products are just intrinsically better somehow / everyone thinks of burgers when they think of fast food

* I'm wrong: there's already other Asian chains that are big. All I can think of right now is McDonald's buying Wagamama (which seemed to have then transformed from "mass market Japanese restaurant" to "we'll sell anything that looks a bit Asian, whether it's Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese..." but I don't see them making it out of the UK and achieving domination anywhere.

What am I missing? Or is it just that we wait until private equity is done with bagels and coffee, and they decide to massively scale up a steamed bun joint/ the world's simplest bibimbap / okonomayaki in a bun?

I can't remember if it was Jesus getting mad at John the Baptist for dumping rubbish in a layby, or the other way round...

I took my hardtail down Expresso yesterday (just under a mile long, flow trail on the North Shore) and my feet were in agony after about half way down.

Thoughts on what I do to improve? Top half of the trail I was ok, but I felt more and more battered the longer I went. Previously I've had issues with thighs and forearms, which two months of hitting the gym and doing lots of squats and bench presses seems to have cured, but feet? How am I going to stop them hurting?

I'm planning on driving from Vancouver to Halifax this summer. While waiting in secondary waiting to enter the US last week, I met a guy who said it took him two weeks to drive across the country - is that more realistic than my plan of one week ?

(My initial route plan, doing it with about 10-12 hours drive per day, is:

Vancouver - Golden

Golden - Regina

Regina - Dryden

Dryden - Kapuskasing

Kapuskasing - Montreal

Montreal - Halifax

Am I massively underestimating the distances / timing?)

I live in Vancouver, BC, occasionally visit friends in Seattle, WA, driving across the border. I'm entering under the visa waiver program.

Do I need to pay $30 for an I94 every single time, or is there a time period within which the I94 is valid for multiple crossings?

I can't see anything that clarifies this on the DHS website (only a cursory look, mind) and a random person I was talking to while waiting in the secondary inspection line this weekend told me that I only need a new I94 every six months, but I'd like to see if others have experience of this.

I'm running the stock RS 35 on there. Thoughts on changing to a brand new 2022 Marzocchi Z1 (it's up for auction right now, could get it for $100) ... or a 2025 Lyrik, for $200?

(Knolly went bankrupt a month ago and are auctioning everything off in Vancouver. I feel bad that they're going out of business, but on the other hand, every sale covers some of their debts, right?)
