Looking for SSF build suggestions for my favorite unique

Playing SSF right now and found my favorite unique in the whole game, Sire of Shards. I know it's kind of a garbage unique overall but I love its effect so I wanted to play something with it. I also got a soul mantle so my first thought was spark totems, but honestly totems feel like you have to jump through too many hoops to make them usable in PoE2 and it's hard to stack all the spirit needed in SSF.

Backup plan was just self-cast archmage spark, but wanted to see if anyone else had fun suggestions for Sire's unique effect.

Is this just turning into a gooner sub?

It feels like half the posts on here lately are just onlyfans advertisement cosplays and lewd AI generated pics of the main cast. Is this what indefinite hiatus does to y'all?

Looking for good horror games but I don't like 99% of them

Recently watched my girlfriend play through Until Dawn and it has gotten me in a horror mood. I liked the story and the horror aspects of it a lot, BUT it felt like the game had a stupid jump scare every 30 seconds, and half of them weren't built up or predictable. I'm not a huge fan of jump scares, especially ones that are overused and unpredictable just to get a burst of adrenaline out of you like Until Dawn's. I'm also not a big fan of any generic monster shooter horror games, or basically anything where you get a gun and you can defend yourself. I'm aware that cuts out like 99% of horror options.

I really love atmospheric/psychological horror, and anything where you can't fight back and the game leaves you feeling helpless and alone. Some of my favorites are the Amnesia games, SOMA, and Alien: Isolation if that gives you an idea of what I'm looking for. Having a gun isn't a total deal breaker if the game is scarce on resources and every bullet you fire feels precious, I just don't like when you can mow down hordes of zombies with a spray and pray approach because you never really feel in danger.

Crazy long transition screens every time I open the map device or press U (90+ seconds). This just started yesterday after being fine all league, didn't change any settings. I've tried dx12 and Vulkan and both do this. Any idea how to fix it?

I have a special needs client that has been wanting to play basketball but we're trying to see if there are any hoops within walking distance of his home

Looking for suggestions for simple/effective topics for an English demo lesson

I'm entertaining a job opportunity teaching English at a university in China. This is a credible job opportunity under a great dean I have worked for in the past so I'm not worried about the opportunity being a scam or anything. This dean transferred to a new university that she's trying to get me to come work at, but this particular university typically requires a masters for foreign faculty, where I only have a bachelor's. She's trying to vouch for me to the university and wants me to give some first year students a demo lesson so she can write up a report on it and use it in my defense. Their English levels will be probably be all over the place, some advanced, some very beginner.

The dean said I can teach any topic that falls under English language, which is a little open ended obviously. Just looking for some suggestions of what topics would be simple and effective for this setting, keeping in mind the varying skill levels of the students. I have an education degree so once I have a topic picked I'll be fine to form a lesson plan and map out the lecture/practice time for the students. Thanks for any suggestions you have!

Looking for a private Chinese tutor

Hello all! My girlfriend and I are potentially moving to China in a few months and we're looking for someone who teaches private Chinese lessons. We've both lived there in the past but we only know extreme basics of the language so it would need to be someone comfortable teaching absolute beginners. We could either pay directly or we could also trade for instrumental lessons (flute, saxophone, or violin) if you're interested! Let me know if you know anyone who could potentially teach us.

What's Xiamen like? Any expat community groups there?

Potentially moving to Xiamen soon to teach at a university there. I've previously lived in Shenyang and loved it, but now I'm a little bummed to be moving to a different city after I finally learned all the cool places in Shenyang and got integrated with the expat community there.

What are some cool places or things to do in Xiamen? What's the culture like there? And are there any English speaking foreigner/expat communities out there that I could start getting to know? Any wechat groups or anything?

The scene that chilled me to my core

One of the things I love about this movie is that from what I can tell online everyone has a different scene that's absolutely harrowing to them.

For me, it was when Bear got out of bed to sneak out to the park, but not when he said "Is it really so bad to be with me?" It was when Nikki started talking to him in her sleep, begging Bear to kill him. The reason it was so chilling to me is because it is genuinely unclear whether this was the real Nikki talking to him or if it was Wish Nikki trying to manipulate him again. We do know the real Nikki is able to peek through and take over from time to time, but imo there's nothing proving this was the case here. We also know that Wish Nikki is aware that she's an entity created by the Willow. Wish Nikki frequently used guilt and manipulation tactics to try to get Bear to stay with her, and pretending she was the real Nikki seems easily within the bounds of a guilt tactic she would try to use.

Also, if that was the real Nikki talking while Wish Nikki slept, it seems a little hard for me to believe that Wish Nikki would have been able to find Sarah and Bear in the park afterwards. Wish Nikki would have woken up and had no inkling of where he went. However if it was Wish Nikki pretending to be the real Nikki the entire time, she could have gotten out of bed shortly after Bear left and followed him to the park.

Tl;dr the fact that it's impossible to know for certain who was talking to Bear before he snuck out was the most chilling scene in the movie for me.

I've tried some of the paved bike/pedestrian paths around town, like at Tonaquint park, but honestly the asphalt on those paths is really bumpy, full of cracks, and they have a lot of hills, so they're not great for me as a beginner. I know of the Rinq, but are there any nice outdoor places I can go? Preferably a space that's more wide open with flat ground so I can practice techniques and things without having to worry about my speed going out of control on slopes. Any hard surfaces are fine.

Subbed for a 6th grade band class (I know) W/R/F this past week. I have a degree in music education and I know most of the music teachers in this district, so they usually call me first when they need a sub so that their students can still do music that day rather than doing something random with a non-musical sub. I'm comfortable leading music classrooms and I had subbed for this particular class before without much issue.

When I got there on my first day the office secratary told me these students had a sub the previous day as well and apparently they were pretty rough for the other sub. Secratary offered to have the vice-principal come lead the first 5 minutes of each class to set the tone and hopefully get the students to have a good day. I told her I had these students before and they didn't give me much trouble. I also brought my personal instrument to use as a bribe, which usually gets students to behave pretty well because they like hearing the adults play, so having the VP come down shouldn't be necessary. That was a mistake. Most of the classes of the day were fine, but third period was genuinely one of the worst classes I've ever subbed for. One student began class by walking in circles around the room and beating on every single percussion instrument with his hands, then going into the percussion room and doing the same thing in there (this is a no-no in music classes, percussion instruments are very expensive, very fragile, and you do not touch them unless you are a percussionist). This student didn't even acknowldge my existence when I walked up to him and told him to his face that he is not allowed to be touching the percussion instruments and he needs to return to his seat. He didn't reply, didn't look at me, nothing, just kept on doing what he was doing. When I did finally get him to go back to his seat, he was in it for about 30 seconds until he just got up and left the room without asking for permission or signing out, and didn't come back for 7 minutes. Another student in this class was being a menace for the entire period. Couldn't stay in his seat for more than 30 seconds, was constantly getting up to physically harass his friends in the row in front of him, and at one point I watched this kid set his tuba down, literally climb up on top of his chair, and DIVE onto the hard floor as if he was diving into a pool. He made a big huge show of rolling around on the floor afterwards as if he "fell and hurt himself." Confirmed that he was not actually hurt and got the class reigned back in, and scolded the hell out of them. Emailed their primary teacher about what happened and both parents were contacted that day. Came in the next day and those two students were miraculously on good behavior after the phone calls home.

Anywho, rant over. I was just honestly dumbfounded. I dont think I've ever had a student just straight up ignore my existence and refuse to acknowledge I was talking to them before, and I've certainly never had a student literally dive off of a chair before. I hardly knew how to react to it all.

Long time player but I've only ever played offline SSF. Every once in a while I delete all my stash and characters just to get that feeling of starting from scratch again. I want to shake things up a bit with some challenge runs next. All characters would probably be no shared stash, what other challenges do you enjoy?
