32” monitor recommendation for MacBook Air M5 + CalDigit TS4

Hey all, planning to consolidate my office setup into a single 32” external display. Need help deciding on specs and models.

My setup:

MacBook Air M5 (base chip, 24GB RAM, 1TB SSD)

CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 dock handling all peripherals

Use case: web development, content management, WordPress, browser-heavy productivity work

No gaming, light video editing, no color-critical work

Spec questions I’m trying to figure out:

Is 4K (3840×2160) enough at 32”, or should I be looking at 5K/6K for proper Mac PPI? I know 27” 4K has scaling issues on macOS — does 32” 4K avoid that, or am I still compromising?

Is 60Hz fine for productivity, or worth paying premium for 120Hz/144Hz? My current monitor is 27” 144Hz 1440p and honestly I never notice the refresh rate doing my type of work. But curious if I’m missing something.

Appreciate any input from folks running similar Mac productivity setups. Trying to avoid overpaying for specs I won’t actually benefit from.

Thanks

Logitech MX Keys sending phantom ghost scrolling

I've been dealing with an incredibly frustrating issue with my Logitech MX Keys keyboard. The cursor scrolls on its own (up and down randomly), and while typing, the cursor jumps to the beginning of the line out of nowhere.

At first I thought it was my Logitech MX Master 3 mouse causing the phantom scrolling. I spent hours disabling mouse drivers, reinstalling, restarting — nothing worked permanently. Then I turned off the MX Keys and the scrolling stopped immediately. So the keyboard is definitely the culprit.

What's happening:

- Random scrolling up and down (like Page Up/Page Down being pressed)

- Cursor jumps to the beginning of the line while typing (like Home key being pressed)

- Comes and goes intermittently — works fine for a few minutes, then starts again

- All keys feel physically normal, nothing sticky or stuck

What I've tried:

- Disabling and re-enabling HID drivers in Device Manager

- Restarting the PC multiple times

- Installing Logi Options+ (latest firmware 12.1.13, receiver firmware 24.11.36 — both up to date)

- Moving the receiver to different USB ports

Connected via Unifying receiver.

Has anyone experienced this? Is this a known hardware defect? Is this something Logitech warranty covers?

Any help appreciated.

Looking for USB-C hub recommendations for MacBook Air M5 — single 1440p monitor setup

Hey everyone, hoping to get some honest input before pulling the trigger on a hub.

My setup:

  • MacBook Air M5 (2026), 15.3", 24GB RAM, 1TB SSD (base M5 chip, not Pro/Max)
  • ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD — 27" 1440p IPS, 144Hz (will run at 60Hz, don't need 144 for productivity)
  • Microlab TMN1 2.1 speakers (3.5mm aux only, no Bluetooth)
  • Wired Gigabit ethernet at office
  • Logitech wireless keyboard + MX Master 3 (single USB-A dongle)

What I need from the hub:

  • Drive ViewSonic at 1440p@60Hz via HDMI
  • Gigabit ethernet
  • USB-A for the wireless dongle
  • Single monitor only — no plans for dual displays
  • Charging via separate MagSafe is fine, don't need PD passthrough
  • 3.5mm audio jack would be nice but not required (can plug speaker into MacBook headphone jack)

Use case: Web dev, Blogging, browser-heavy work. No gaming, little bit video editing, no color-critical work.

My current machine is Macbook Air M1 8GB, bought around 5 years ago. Still chugging along fine.

But as I am going more into vibe coding and complex workflows, the machine often gets hottt.

Was just trying hyperframes in terminal, my machine practically started to smoke.

So I am thinking of upgrading.

I am the kind of person who buys something once and continues to use it until its performance seriously degrades. (still using iphone 13 pro)

So with my current upgrade, I want to future proof vibecoding workflows for about 5 years hopefully.

With that context in mind, which macbook air will you suggest me? M5 16 gigs or 32 gigs? Or something else?

Thanks for reading!
