Does your favorite character affect whether you liked the twist or not?

I didn’t mind the brain scan reveal, and I think it’s because my favorite character by far is Kinger. And let’s look at what would happen to him if they weren’t brain scans and they managed to escape the circus:

*He has lost 20 years of his life. There’s no getting those back. The real world is so much different in 2017 than it was in 1999, and I don’t know how he’d adjust.

*His body would probably be messed up beyond repair from being hooked up to machines for two decades. And even if C & A somehow kept his body in perfect condition, his brain would definitely still be really messed up forever.

*Queenie is dead and he’s going to feel like it’s his fault forever. He’ll carry that guilt until he dies.

There’s no way for him to have a happy ending in this case.

Then we learn that in the real world, Grant is still married to his wife and he has two children. Kinger can finally let go of the guilt that he possibly killed his wife since the real her is still alive. And yeah, he’ll never see her again, but at least this burden he’s carried for so long can finally be let go.

Abel’s hatred of Kinger is really funny to me for some reason

Like, I get that a lot of it was to keep Kinger out of the adventure because he really did work for C & A. The jabs at his mental state, I understand.

But some of it didn’t really have a purpose imo. Like the comment about Kinger not using his power responsibly. That honestly felt like Abel was just hating for the love of the game and that’s hilarious to me.

It’s also funny because he was just an NPC who never actually worked with Kinger. Imagine being Abel and your job is to just shit talk this kind, harmless old man. That cracks me up for some reason.

Song I heard at work, newish I’m assuming, female singer

Pop, female singer, didn’t sound familiar like any of the big recognizable pop singers. The only line I can remember is “toxic til the end” in the chorus but it is NOT Rosé’s version!! And that’s impossible to look up because Google is just going to give me her song.

Which part of "The One Who's Running the Show?" is your favorite?

If you HAD to choose (obviously, it's all fire)

I've had "I'm the host, I run this place / Caine it is my naaaame" stuck in my head for a week

"It's time you see that this great marquee / Is the only place you're ever gonna be" is also an ear worm

Questions about Episode 7

Why was Abel/Caine so reluctant to include Kinger? Yes, Caine probably knows Kinger was one of the original programmers, so he probably didn’t want Kinger contradicting Abel’s story. But Kinger’s not sane most of the time, so how would he know Abel’s story isn’t true?

Also, Abel sounds so angry when he says the line “if he used [his power] responsibly” about Kinger. Was this just to sell the idea that he and Kinger really knew each other and had a falling out? Or does this represent some resentment Caine has towards Kinger? Of all the things Abel said about Kinger, that one stood out to me for some reason.

Would Jax still have abstracted if Kinger hadn’t accidentally deleted Caine?

If Kinger had succeeded in just putting Caine to sleep or fixing him, would Jax still have abstracted? I know he was close in Episode 7 before all of this. Then Caine going insane and torturing them all probably didn’t help. So maybe he would have abstracted anyway. But was Kinger accidentally destroying the circus—and everyone taking his side when Jax was calling him out on it—the final straw?

This is not me blaming Kinger. I know it was an accident, and also he’s not responsible for Jax’s reaction. I’m just curious if things could have played out differently.

New hyperfixation/comfort character

I just got into TADC recently because of the finale and I’m already obsessed with Kinger. He’s just the perfect character for me to hyperfixate on. I need help lol (and please ignore my messy house, executive dysfunction is a bitch)

The fic I just wrote and posted already has a comment! And a bookmark!

I just spent the past hour writing a one-shot I haven’t been able to get out of my mind for the past few days. I just posted it a few minutes ago, and it already has two kudos and one comment! And that commenter gave it a recommended bookmark!

I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately, and I’ve really missed writing and posting. So this has made me ridiculously happy.

Did Kinger get to talk with Queenie one last time like Pomni did with Jax?

I know in Episode 3, Kinger mentions darkness calming Queenie so he could touch her one last time before she abstracted. And this is where Pomni gets the idea to shoot out the lights and speak to Jax.

So do you think Kinger got to go into his wife’s mindscape and talk to her before she abstracted? Is this what the show is implying? Man, what I wouldn’t give to see that conversation. I hope to at least see some good fanfics about it.

Favorite Zutara songs?

What songs make you go, “this is their song!”

I personally love the idea of them sneaking around behind Aang’s back even though Katara’s miserable with him because he relies on her for emotional regulation. And she feels responsible for his emotions and not letting the avatar lose control and destroy the world.

So sole of my favorite songs for them are about cheating. A lot of Taylor Swift’s newer work has songs for this that I love.

High Infidelity

Guilty as Sin?

Fresh Out the Slammer

You could also pick enemies to lovers songs or just sweet romantic songs you like for them!
