I have a PixelSnap charger that came with my Pixel 10 Pro XL. It's convenient but also gets super hot sometimes. I was thinking, is it worth getting a third-party stand for this charger that could also be used as a stand on my work desk?

I guess the MagSafe and PixelSnap accessories may vary, so I'm asking if any of you use any third-party stand with your PixelSnap charger? I'm based in India as of now, and I can buy it on Amazon India. Thank you.

THR came knocking!

I had CD + BMAC in 2024 and it has been almost 2 years. It did not help at all. These 2 years have been painful.

About 6 months ago I started developing pain in my left hip, knee, shin, and ankle, a sort of nerve-like pain. Anyway, I visited my doctor in my home country yesterday and he asked me to get an MRI, which ended up confirming my left side is collapsing. The right is not in good shape but it has not collapsed. When I had CD, it was the right hip that was in bad shape.

So I plan to have THR surgery in the upcoming weeks on the left side. Should I do it on the right side as well? Someday I am going to need to address it. As of now I am transitioning from one job to another, so I can spare 3 months. I do not think I will have this kind of timeframe in the future, as I am not living in my home country.

My doctor suggested going with Oxinium (oxidized zirconium) as the implant material, if I am not mistaken. Does anyone have experience with this? He will be going with the posterior approach, as he mentioned that if I ever need to replace the implant in the future, posterior is a better option than anterior. He also suggested 1 week of hospital bed rest and a minimum of 45 days recovery, but mentioned that within 10 days you can resume normal duties like WFH.

In the last couple of days, my Pixel 8a battery has been draining overnight. I usually turn off both the WiFi and mobile data completely before I go to sleep. When I check my phone in the morning, it's either switched off completely or below 10%. This morning it was the same, so I checked the battery usage and found Spotify was using 59% overnight.

Is anyone facing this problem?

Does anyone here take avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU) or Piascledine tablets? My doctor suggested it as a supplement, so I’m curious.

Been getting random crashes during CS2, GTA V enhanced and Hitman for a while now — mostly BSOD, once a full hang. Every crash dump shows the same bugcheck: 0x116 (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE), param3 = STATUS_INSUFFICIENT_RESOURCES.

Dug into HWiNFO logs and lined them up with the crash timestamps. Found that right before every crash, the PCIe error counters (Receiver Errors, Bad TLP, LCRC) spike hard — but only on one lane at a time, all other lanes stay at 0. Temps, power draw, and voltages are all normal when it happens, so it doesn't look thermal or power related.

Tried forcing PCIe Gen3 in BIOS as a test (case's riser cable may only be Gen3-rated). Confirmed via HWiNFO it was actually running at Gen3 — but it crashed faster and worse, and this time a different lane (14 instead of 13) was the one erroring. So: slowing the link down didn't help, and the bad lane isn't even consistent. Leaning toward a marginal riser cable or connector rather than a signaling/speed mismatch, but not 100% sure.

Already ruled out: overheating, power limiting, PSU sag, driver/BIOS updates (no change). Two shop stress tests "passed" but they weren't watching PCIe error counters or reproducing this specific workload.

• CPU: Intel Core i5-12500
• Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B660-I GAMING WIFI
• GPU: MSI RTX 3060 Ventus 2X OC (12GB, LHR)
• RAM: ADATA XPG 32GB (2x16GB), XMP enabled, running at stock ~5200MHz
• Case: Lian Li Q58
• PSU: Corsair SF750 (750W, SFX, 80+ Gold)
• OS: Windows 11 (build 26200.8737)

 

Questions:

1. Does "different lane each time + Gen3 made it worse" point more toward a bad riser cable, a bad slot/connector, or something else?
2. Anyone had riser cable issues with the Lian Li Q58 specifically?
3. Any next steps?

I thought I would be able to get my hands on the F4-425+, but I just learned that Terramaster has discontinued this model.

My main use case is both streaming locally and remotely, and backing up pictures (initially two users). For this purpose I already ordered two 10TB IronWolf HDDs (RAID 1, maybe?) and one Kingston NV3 500 GB SSD for apps.

Are the UGREEN DXP4800+ and Terramaster F4-424 Pro overkill for me? Both are almost the same price where I live.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am interested in buying a 4-bay NAS for personal use for myself and my girlfriend. I am not interested in Synology as their hardware feels about 10 years behind. I am looking at the UGREEN DXP4800 Plus or the Terramaster F4-424 / F4-425 Plus.

My main use cases are: backing up photos and videos from a DJI ActionPro and our phones, backing up a Mac and a Windows PC, and streaming movies. We both have OneDrive, but I'm not sure how that fits into the picture.

I am based in Malaysia and would buy either the UGREEN locally or the Terramaster from AliExpress. I plan to buy the HDDs (starting with 2 × 8TB Seagate IronWolf) and M.2 NVMe SSDs from Taiwan, as I'll be travelling there soon and prices are cheaper there.

How much TB of M.2 NVMe SSDs and should I buy?
