working on the Leman Russ Primarch model

The Wolf King himself is ready, now I need to work on the base!

Radu Hyrkaliz, Chaos Lord of the Dreadmarchers

I used the Power Sword Praetor as the base, with a lot of careful editing and moving things around. His helmet comes from the Horus Heresy Command Squad box, but with the laurel bits from the main model’s original backpack mounted skull halo as wings. The trophy rack bits came from bits I had left over from the Kings of War Northern Alliance Clansmen box, as well as a leftover Bladeguard and Intercessor helmet.

The idea I was shooting for with the helmet was it originally belonged to a Dark Angel, but Hyrkaliz killed him and took the helmet as a trophy, defiling it in Nostraman style. Intended to be used as a Chaos Lord proxy for 40k with the Accursed Weapon / Plasma pistol loadout.

Base is milliput, sprue, and a chainsword from I want to say left over from the Grey Hunters kit.

A little cheeky fun from your cousins on Nostramo haha. I think this formerly mighty warrior might make good basing material for my upcoming Night Lords Helbrute. I built the poor guy from my bitz, using the Wolfguard Terminator cuirass and some old Horus Heresy Cataphractii arms. (I wasn’t sure what color the epaulets would be for the 40k color scheme, so I guessed forest green. Sorry if it’s not lore accurate!!)

I’m originally a Space Wolves guy, and the Dark Angels to me are that rival team who you love to pick on but respect deeply, and am working on a Night Lords project right now! The Dark Angels and Night Lords have such an epic history during the Thramas Crusade, so I’ve made it a rule that all my dead Imperial Marines on trophy racks or bases are going to be Dark Angels. The 40k scheme is just too fun to paint, and I love the way the forest green looks contrasting against the midnight blue

I will say, however that I have a lot of sympathy for y’all … Wraithbone is not an easy paint to spread evenly on a surface!! Maybe my brushes just suck (probably) but dang, y’all have you work cut out for you painting your Terminators haha.

I know he’s lacking the Crux Terminatus, but dang it I didn’t have any shoulder bits with one on it, and it was really hard to freehand, so I just did a bloody handprint. I did manage to (not particularly well) freehand the Chapter badge on the other pauldron however.

PERSONAL LIFE (OVERSHARING)

For whatever reason, saw this woman at church today in a totally new light. Sat by her in both hours, had a good time talking to her, and genuinely daydreamed on my drive home about having a life with her. I kind of hate that I do that when I start liking a girl, and I try not to because it’s just not a smart play to invest very much at all emotionally too soon. ESPECIALLY at my big age, when I’ve been burned every time I’ve invested too soon and hyped up the potential. I want to be married and have kids so bad bro you genuinely don’t understand how deep in my soul I crave having someone to just be with my forever girl and share a full life with her through ups and downs and start a family with. Like, I feel pretty well recovered from my last breakup and I’ve gotten some solid closure, and it’s exciting to feel this way about someone new again.

I have a date with her for next weekend, which is A.) exciting because I want to see her but also B.) a little nerve-wracking because I gotta plan something both chill so she doesn’t think I’m some kind of crazy person but also fun so we can genuinely have a good time and get to know one another better.

My typical go-to first date is sushi and then walk around this cool little park to get ice cream, it’s great because you get a chance to share an activity that everybody does (eating), the walk is romantic but not too much for a first date, and the ice cream place has kind of funny offbeat flavors, and there’s ample time to talk. But great as it is, I’ve done it often enough that the employees recognize me at both the sushi joint and the ice cream shop, and it’s starting to get stale. I don’t want to do bowling or mini golf because i feel like it’s hard to just talk when I’m focusing on an active task. Need better first date ideas I guess.

Anyways, I was digging through my bits box to find sprues to cut up to base my Warp Talons on (I’m going for like an urban decay/ruins/detritus type theme for the bases for my Night Lords project) and I start cutting away spare bits, and I realized I could build this little dude. Looks enough like a Scout, and if I’m painting a dead Marine, I paint him green. I kind of “hate” the Dark Angels (in a faction rivalry kind of way, not actual hate hate), so most of my dead Imperials are Dark Angels.

I’m planning on getting a Contemptor dreadnought when I get my money up (not my funny up sadly) to run as a Helbrute for my Night Lords project, and I think I’m gonna have this poor little dude be bleeding out, legless on the Contemptor dread’s base.

RIP this dude I guess lol. Also, the lighting is super harsh, he looks waaay better in person. I have no idea how to photograph my minis with my phone tbh.

i used cut up sprue and astrogranite to make this, i think it looks cool for a hive city rubble kind of deal for my Nemesis Claw Killteam. Thoughts? When you look at it does it read as rubble?

EDIT: maybe rubble isn’t quite the word I’m looking for. I was intending the sprue bits to be rusted iron, like they’re in the lower zones of a hive city. Night Lords in Necromunda I guess

I have finally completed the other part of my collection! The Primaris Wolves were a joy to paint, and I found my skills leveling up very very fast as I went.
