F26 Brit in LA for the first time

I’m staying in Beverly Hills and I’ve got the whole weekend free then it’s back to WFH somewhere cool in the area. I’m making this trip all about meeting locals, so if you’re not a serial killer or anything, let’s do something, even if it’s just co-working during the week. I’m easy.

Where do the cool people get coffee and just generally exist?

Solo female traveller from London

I had planned on just going with the flow, but figure Reddit could help me out on this one. I’m looking for a mix of country and metal bars, non-touristy. I want to meet with locals as I’m in the states for 5 weeks, super excited but need recommendations. My main objective is to meet people and be social, as that’s always how the best trips begin. Also, looking for places to WFH in the day… where cool locals go lol, maybe the odd (or many) cowboy hats in sight lol

Also also, where’s safest to stay? I’m going to airbnb it

A bug removed my tattoo?

I’m visiting the US from London. I’ve had tattoo removal sessions but the last one was like 6 months ago, so the circle definitely isn’t from that. I got bitten yesterday in Miami, and in one of the bites, it removed part of my tattoo? It’s the only explanation have, and I wouldn’t mind getting bitten some more if it saves the laser cost🤣

[Arabic > English] dress belt

I have this black dress belt I believe it’s Arabic, possibly stylized Thuluth calligraphy, I know it will be mostly ornamental. But I’m still curious.

Does anyone recognize what this says?
Thanks in advance!

I'm a 26F building an app to connect men with men, to combat male loneliness. No dating, just friends. Tell me what I'm getting wrong (Men 25+, UK preferred)

Gm all. I'm a 26F building an male-only app that helps men over 25 make new friends IRL. At the pub, on the pitch, over a chessboard. Anywhere that isn't a dating app.

Obvious question first: why is a woman building this? Because male loneliness is real, and because I believe the same thing about men's spaces that I believe about women's: they should exist, and they shouldn't be redesigned by people they're not for. So this survey is me shutting up and listening.

The thinking behind the app: male loneliness gets talked about endlessly, usually by people who aren't lonely men. Meanwhile Britain (that's where we're starting) is losing pubs at a alarming rate. I think those two problems might share an answer, so instead of building another app designed to keep you on your phone, we're partnering with pubs, venues and activity organisers to get people off it.

Before building the wrong thing, I want to know how men actually socialise, what gets in the way, and what would genuinely make it easier.

The survey is a google forms, and can be found HERE.

Happy to answer questions in the comments, especially the sceptical ones.

Thankkkkkssss
