Apple Carplay taking long to connect

I have a 2023 Elantra Limited Hybrid and I’ve noticed it typically takes 30-45 seconds to connect to Apple Carplay after connecting my phone to the usb cable.

I am wondering if anyone else is facing this? I’ve hopped into a few of my friends cars (not Hyundai) and noticed the CarPlay connects instantly for wired connections.

I am also wondering if it’s the usb cable of choice although I did try a few and all seem to be the same.

Was in a lot of traffic today but atleast the MPG is amazing

Super astonishing how good the fuel efficiency in the Elantra Hybrid is. I had the A/C on full blast too. I didn’t even consume a full gallon of gas with 70 whole miles driven.

All trains between Western Ave and Union Station halted due to passenger collision

All inbound NCS, MD-W, and MD-N trains are significantly delayed. my NCS train dropped us off at western ave and recommended to find alternative transportation.

Smoke alarms went off at 3:30am sharp

For exactly 3 seconds my smoke alarms went off at 3:30am sharp and then shut itself off automatically. Not sure if anyone else faced that due to power surges or something?

Who is Vignesh Kitchen?

Recently came across his channel, what’s his deal? No judgement or hate towards him but I just see so much controversy with him.

Moved to a city and only lasted 10 months

Made a move to a specific city (revealed at the end of the post) and only lasted 10 months there. Here are a few reasons why it wasn’t a good fit for me.

- Infrastructure can not handle its current population

- Locals despise transplants. Most make this their personality to hate on people moving there

- Cost of living is ridiculous for what you get

- Very limited public transit even though it is somewhat designed to be transit friendly (which makes both driving and transit very hard)

- Overall, the entire city is pretty “run-down”

- Lot of unreported crime and unresponsive police department; tons of car break ins and mid-day robberies

- Politically I was under the impression it was a nice blue bubble in a red state but that was further from the truth

- Probably the worst drivers and a lot of road rage. I’d look around and most cars on the road are dented and damaged.

- Overall a very uneasy environment. If you go out to bars/clubs and do so much as looking at someone, they will try to pick a fight with you.

- Very aggressive culture with people doing whatever they can to get what they want.

It’s crazy because I really can’t point out any good other than amazing food. Glad to be out.

This city is:

Austin, Texas

Let me know what your thoughts are in the comments, I’d love to hear some insight.
