SMART Unli Data or Magic Data?

Hi! Which one ba mas sulit, yung Unli Data promo or no expiry Magic Data?

For context, I live in a condo pero naka pocket wifi lang ako since I opted na di magpakabit, nagrerent lang kasi ako and I only rent there sa condo for studies. I will use the WiFi mainly for school but also possibly for personal reasons (streaming and video calls with family). I can opt to use the school WiFi naman sa umaga or mag cafe pero gusto ko din kasi sana na may WiFi ako in case di ako makalabas ng condo or lalo pag gabi.

I read some posts here abt data capping and stuff pero medyo hirap akong intindihin 🥹 Can anyone explain the differences between both and which one may be the better option?

For MA Psych full-time students

Hi! Any MA Psych students here who study full time and don’t have work? (Preferably those not in Clinical/Counseling tracks)

Can you share how the experience has been for you? Parang medyo naconscious ako in my classes upon finding out that most people in class have work at the same time, while I left my work to focus on grad school 😭 Not sure if I made the right decision haha

For context, I used to work in corporate but had to leave bc the schedules don’t work with classes (I work in BGC) and I wanted to prioritize studies since I am taking my MA to pursue a career in the academe. Medyo nag ooverthink na ako ulit sa life choices ko hahaha

Is it worth it to leave corporate to pursue an academic career?

I’ve been working in corporate for almost 2 years now. I work in HR and graduated with a Psych degree.

Although naging part naman talaga ng plan ko to work in the industry first, my dream is to be in the academe and to be involved in research. I know myself na I don’t want to stay in corporate forever, but we can’t deny na ang daming benefits na sa corporate lang makukuha. Pero di din naman super kalakihan sinasahod ko. In all honesty, di aabot 23k nakukuha ko rn, and I entered my job na around 18k lang sahod.

Recently, I got accepted in a prestigious school’s MA Social Psychology program with full scholarship and a graduate assistantship opportunity. Of course, masaya ako kasi pinaghirapan ko yung application. Sa dream school ko pa talaga, and I know na yung jumpstart sa academe, makukuha ko sa school na to. I know this will open doors for me sa academe.

Pero I can’t help but think, masyado bang maaga to leave corporate? I am up for promotion na sana sa corporate and was transferred to a department wherein somehow nagugustuhan ko naman ginagawa ko. Pero anjan parin frustrations ko with my situation, lalo pa’t di naman sobrang laki ng kita ko dito haha. Kaso iniisip ko din financial stability ko. Willing na ba akong ilet go to?

To add, medyo kinakabahan din ako na magresign now kasi less than 30 days nalang magsisimula na classes. Di ko din kinoconsider na ipagsabay work ko and classes. I work 48 hrs a week in BGC. Nasa QC yung school ko.

Anyone who did the same thing of leaving corporate to pursue the academe? Let me know your thoughts hahaha

Grad School and Career Dilemma

Hi! Posted this sa gradschoolph and someone recommended na baka bagay din dito.

I just found out today na my application for the Graduate Assistantship Scholarship for AdMU has been approved. Honestly ang tagal ko ding pinaghirapan na makuha to, especially that I’m not really well off and the financial aid will really help me a lot.

For context, the GA Scholarship offers full scholarship + living allowance of 15k.

But at the same time, napaisip ako if ipupursue ko siya. I also work full time rn in BGC. Di naman super taas ng sahod ko (di lalagpas 23k), but I get HMO benefits which is super helpful din sakin as someone who has maintenance meds.

To be honest, when I first applied for grad school, what I had in mind talaga is aalis na ako sa work kasi there was a time that I was really burned out. Kaso recently I have been given a different role and mas nagugustuhan ko na job ko now. Although another issue is, yung career ko rn and the masters program na inapplyan ko are not really that connected. Yung program ko kasi aligns with my long term goal of entering the academe. My work rn is nasa HR side, which naeenjoy ko naman pero talagang nakakadrain siya at times.

Back to my main concern, medyo natotorn na ako between keeping my job (which means twice a week ako babyahe from BGC to QC for classes, and ako na mismo magbabayad tuition) or pushing through with the GA role (mas related sa academe, pero I have to move to QC pa so dagdag expenses pa yon, plus mawawala HMO ko).

Can anyone give me helpful insights? Sorry, torn na torn talaga ako 🥹

MA Psych while working full time

Hi! I recently got accepted in the MA Psych program in Ateneo.

Can anyone tell me if feasible ba to have a full-time onsite job while pursuing my MA? I currently work and live in BGC, Taguig. Initially I planned to leave my work and pursue MA full time, but at the same time I realized I don’t want to leave my job yet so I’m thinking if ok lang ba na ipagsabay ko siya sa work.

Do you have any regrets choosing Ateneo for MA Psych?

Hi! Currently choosing between 2 schools rn for my grad school hahaaha, and so I want to ask students from both schools the same question.

Do you have any regrets choosing the school for your MA?

Are there things you like or dislike about your experience? Do you wish you chose a different school or environment?

Also would appreciate if someone who works as a Graduate Assistant can also give their thoughts.

Your insights would be a big help to me 🥹

MA Psych, AdMU or Mapua?

Hi! Hoping to get insights from people here.

I am planning to pursue MA Psych this year and I got accepted at 2 schools, pero yung magiging career path ko for both are very different.

Choice 1 - AdMU (MA Social Psychology)
- My dream program since I really want to be in academe especially in research
- One of the few schools that offer MA Social Psych (UP offers it too kaso di ako umabot)
- If I’ll pursue this, I will be relying on scholarship (although I am still waiting for the results). I may also have to leave my current job and move to QC since assistantship yung scholarship na inapplyan ko.
- Sobrang laki talaga ng magiging changes ko sa career and lifestyle kasi nga lilipat ako haha

Choice 2 - Mapua University (MA Psych, I/O specialization)
- Considered Mapua bc I currently work in corporate and this is more accessible from my current workplace and place of residence
- Working student friendly curriculum, which means I don’t have to give up my work to pursue this
- No scholarship opportunites tho, so I will have to pay for everything. Tuition’s way lower than AdMU tho.
- Published research is required which is smth I want din since gusto kong mag academe, but might affect my work din soon.
- Hearing mixed reactions about Mapua tho

ATM, gustong gusto ko ipursue ang Ateneo, but it will also mean having to let go of my corporate job (including all the benefits), shifting careers and starting over again. On the other hand, I’ll finally be in the academe. I also plan to find another job din around QC if ever I choose AdMU.

If I choose Mapua tho, I can maintain my job while pursuing studies, but it will be for I/O muna. But it will also mean saying no to Ateneo and baka di na ako makakuha ng chance ulit. It may also mean I have to delay my dream to be in the academe (and tbh napapagod na din ako sa corporate hahaha. My job is interesting and I like my team, pero nakaka burnout na sobra, di din naman kalakihan sahod ko.)

Please help the indecisive me with your insights :(( haha

AdMU Masters Deferment

Hi! Anyone here who applied to AdMU (specifically MA Psych), got accepted, but deferred?

It was mentioned kasi during my interview as an option in case I choose to save up first before proceeding to grad school. Kind of considering it now too.

I read din na you can defer admission up to 2 semesters. Included ba ang Intersession sa bilang ng semesters? Also, would deferment be a wise decision or it’s just delaying?
