I had LEEP in June 2024 then a follow up 6 months later where everything came back clear.

I moved across the country in June 2025 and had a second follow up in July 2025. At that follow up I was told I only need to come in yearly. I was suspicious about this because I trusted my old doctor and the new one was kind of a busy turn and burn situation. (Restaurant slang for rushing tables through to make the most money)

Anyway, in May I called to schedule my 3rd follow up for July 2026 and was told all but one OB are on maternity leave so wait times are crazy. I wasn’t able to get in until September 3. Well….. I woke up today with painful herpes sores. This is normal but then I looked up if it will hurt the pap results and the internet said maybe.

I called the office and they told me to reschedule. Their only open appointment is late November. So by that time it will be about 5 months / 1.5 years since my second follow up.

I’m terrified that I’m possibly putting myself in danger. There are no openings for appointments with female doctors within a 15 mile radius (I’m scared of driving on freeways so 15 miles is about an hour drive for me in any direction) until late October and I’m just not sure what to do….. should I take a day off work and drive a couple hours to somewhere with an opening sooner or wait?

Starting July 2025 I just can’t catch a break. We moved across the country and life has been tough since. This is a pet loss forum so I won’t go into detail but I’m just exhausted and I truly don’t want to feel like this anymore.

October 20th 2025 my cat got out of the house at 5 am while my husband was taking our dog out. Our dog had been declining for a few years so we had to take her out late and early because she couldn’t hold her pee overnight.

My husband accidentally let the cat out and was chasing him but I heard a cat yelp and woke up then ran downstairs. My husband came in breathless saying the my cat, Jack, had gotten out and he didn’t know where he went.

I took the day off and searched all over for him. I didn’t sleep much for weeks. Going out at all hours of the night and morning searching for him. Driving to neighborhoods close by, posting online, making posters, leaving the windows open, set up cameras outside to detect movement, left dirty clothes outside for him to find. It’s been 7 months and he never came back.

About the same time my dog took a turn for the worst and stopped eating. The cat was her best friend but the vets think it was a brain tumor. The diagnostics were 10k so we ended up forgoing those and put her on steroids.

She was basically normal up until a few weeks ago. She slowly stopped eating again and then suddenly had extreme diarrhea.

We took her to the vet and she was hospitalized for 24 hours. The emergency vet was honestly a nightmare and I don’t trust anything they said but that’s another story. They found that my gal had cholangitis but the vet I do trust thinks it’s whatever caused the issues back in October no longer being suppressed.

She could barely eat, refused to drink and after we got a few rounds of subcutaneous fluids we decided to say goodbye.

I’m devastated. I can’t do anything but cry and scroll to try and numb the pain. I don’t want to do this anymore. My pets are my whole world and I didn’t expect to lose 2 out of 3 so quickly.

Our second cat is still happy and healthy luckily but I just need a break. I need some light. 💔
