I'm heading up North mid-august, it's a bit of an unexpected trip. I'll be in the area August 18-20 and would love to find some work while I'm up there.

A little about me, I am an acoustic guitar playing singer songwriter specializing in brewery, pub, and restaurant performances playing sing-a-long songs, keeping a vibe going, and having a good time.

I've been playing throughout the midwest for the past 20 years playing a blend of alt-rock and folk music.

Hey y'all, My name is Nick Wilkinson and I'm a singer/songwriter that's made my home in Chicago for the past 8 years. A friend told me that Reddit was where folks were still cool on the internet and looking for new things so I wanted to post an intro.

I run a few things around the city trying to help artists find places to play, have successful shows, and build a stronger denser community.

Here's a few things I have going on right now:

Mondays - Featured! Live - Prebooked weekly showcase of original musicians, comedians, and writers at Uptown Lounge. Shows are recorded and available to performers and can end up on our radio show. Good spot to catch works-in-progress next to more polished sets.

Tuesdays - Taproom Open Mic at the neighborhood Taprooms (Lincoln Square and Uptown). This open mic has been going on for almost 6 years, and been pretty low key but are always looking for more people to join our gang. List goes out at 7pm, no reserved spots. We go to about 10:30 P.M.

Fridays - Featured! Radio Hour on Amplisounds Radio, best way to get on the show is to come to an event and submit your songs. You can listen every Friday at 2pm.

Sundays - Music Hangout, this is going to get started back up in the fall, but we find a spot for people to gather and bring their hobby, a book, work, conversation, while local bands/songwriters etc, play for the atmosphere of the room.

I'm offering assistance with booking and promotions connecting traveling bands with local bands that put in the work to have successful shows.

My one simple goal is to help musicians connect with their community and communities to better connect with budding and talented artists.

tl;dr - Come join us sometime and meet some cool folks who want to have a good time playing music and not play for empty rooms.
