T-Deck UK - places where it’s in stock

Hiya.

Does anyone know of any UK businesses that stock stuff like the T-Deck? All of the products on Ali Express or Amazon appear to ship from China and it would be nice if anyone knew of anywhere in the UK that had stock without having to wait weeks.

Should I be CLIENT_MUTE?

Hi.

Appreciate that there aren’t many people in my area (but was really pleased when someone saw my posts on here locally and reached out to me on Reddit saying that they’d spotted me and we even got one or two messages in the public channel - but we need more people to set up nodes to fill in the gaps) but in my setup should I be using CLIENT_MUTE?

I have a ThinkNode M1 with an antenna so big it looks like I’m over-compensating for something in an upstairs window. This is set up as CLIENT.

I have a MeshPocket that goes around with me at home, also set up as CLIENT. Ideally, should I set this one up as CLIENT_MUTE and when I’m leaving the area, going to the office or suchlike, should I then set it back up as CLIENT?

ThinkNode M1 - blue light on forever now?

No messages. GPS off. Rebooted. Turned off with twisty knob. Static blue light is just on continuously now.

Any ideas? It only started last night but the blue light was never on and now it’s on all the time.

Dealing with multiple owned nodes without clearing data?

Hi all. Noob here!

I got my first node and upgraded antenna recently (Meshtastic_30df on this screenshot) and my Heltec MeshPocket 10,000mAh device arrived unexpectedly early today.

Anyway, I updated the MeshPocket (tip: don't install InkHUD as you can't connect to bluetooth until you uninstall it) and stuff and connected to it (Meshtastic_f688 on screenshot) and it's all working okay and stuff but if I connect to my old node upstairs then it deletes everything, all conversation history whenever I swap from upstairs 30df to the f688.

The iPhone app does suggest it'll do this, and it indeed does. However, is there no way to keep the conversation history and suchlike when you're swapping between devices? It can't be uncommon for people to have more than one device (one in a loft or upstairs and a secondary device that they might take around with them and stuff) but I'm trying to work out if you all just lose everything when you swap devices?

RP-SMA antenna woes

Replacement for the stubby ThinkNode M1 arrived today.

It fits but I’m confused. The original one (top right) has recessed white bit. The replacement that arrived today (top left) does not.

I guess the pin from the node goes into the hole from the antenna but have I got the wrong antenna?

I’m not having much luck with this at the moment.

ThinkNode M1 rubber bands

My ThinkNode M1 came with two rubber bands but I’m not sure what they’re for. I guess they go under the antenna but I’m just not sure exactly what I’m supposed to do with them?

I could put both on but the little one just vanishes inside and the big one just squeezes out the join.

Sorry to be such a noob but I’ve no clue what they do or what benefit there is or indeed where to put either of them.

In 2018, while on holiday in the Lake District, I took a photo of Poppy Dog & Rosie Dog. It was very much a photo taken in a quick moment and the old iPhone X wasn't all that good with dark photos and it was out of focus. By the time I'd looked at the photo the dogs had both moved but I kept the old out-of-focus and under-exposed photo in case I could do anything in the future.

I've used various sharpening techniques and have used AI models in the past to try and tidy it up but it's never been that successful - one model even added human eyes and teeth to the dogs which was quite an interesting output.

But finally ChatGPT's new generation of photo creation permits for photo enhancement so I've finally managed to get something to create a decent version of it which doesn't just look like an over-sharpened noisy image. Before & after.

It's certainly getting there.

UPDATE: Manufacturer have just got back to me and have diagnosed the unit as faulty. I'll send it back to The Pi Hut.

Hi all.

I'vee recently bought a Gravity lightning sensor from the Pi Hut. I've go the i2c interface turned on in raspi config, I've plugged and unplugged the cable, put them in lightly, put them in forcefully.

I've tried this on my ten year old Pi 3 Model B and my new Pi 5 but neither detects it.

I've contacted the manufacturer who say that I need different drivers and I'm waiting for them to respond.

Regardless of drivers, if the pi doesn't see the device plugged in, it's not working, is it? Or am I missing something. I've downloaded everything in the guide.

The power light on the board is on, but it's not communicating. I don't have any jumper leads to connect the interrupt/IRQ line (and none were included in the sealed pack from the Pi Hut) and I'd need to solder pins to the board regardless.

Does this sound like a faulty board? I'm happy to try out anything reasonable as I can't find any reliable open sources for lightning strikes for my weather station so was hoping to use my own.

I've even asked ChatGPT in case I'm missing something!
