Beating myself up because I got paid right before the price hike and decided to hold off a bit longer. Now I can’t bring myself to pay $3500 for something that was $2300 9 days ago… what do I do?

The m4 studio went from $2000 to $2500, yet the upgraded version that comes with 64gb memory went from $2300 to $3500. To add insult to injury the UI hasn’t even been fixed yet so it still says “$300” to upgrade when it’s actually an additional $1000. I suppose I might as well get the m3 ultra at that point, but idk because that went up to $5300.

I’m extremely salty right now that I didn’t buy it right when I got paid (not a normal paycheck fyi, i get paid monthly and this was a particular good month. i’m saying this because it wouldn’t have been completely irresponsible to do so).

They aren’t going to raise it again in the next month are they? Also I hadn’t realized it’s going to take 13-14 weeks to ship, so I might be stuck waiting for it after the m5 studios release.

I need advice. I’m using an m1 mini right now with 16gb memory, and it mostly gets the job done (premiere, after effects, and some gaming), but definitely struggles to meet my needs sometimes. I really want to buy something that’s gonna last me a long time, especially in this current climate, since it doesn’t seem like prices will ever come back done.

I feel so stupid.

Not to mention I’m going to need a studio display eventually/soon, because I’m using a 4k TV as a monitor right now which obviously is not ideal.

Years ago I was really good at stretching the ps4 version to its limits, now trying to get into the PC version and it’s kind of overwhelming.

When I say “stretching it to its limits” I’m referring to how in vanilla you could manipulate hidden terrain heights underneath already-placed roads in order to get anarchy-like behavior, if anyone knows what I mean by that. I was also good at toggling different snapping tools on/off to my advantage, as well as some other neat tricks I learned over the years, which all helped make the console version a little more bearable.

Now years later I decided to buy the base game and the expansion subscription to get into it on PC.

The game has this general input lag feeling, even when playing on windowed in 1080p, I guess my M1 mac mini (16gb mem) just doesn’t handle the game too well. The framerate itself isn’t terrible but there’s just this delay for everything that is uncomfortable to play with. Is that a mac thing? Like when I hover over a button the button doesn’t light up right away.

On top of that it feels like it takes a long time to accomplish anything with the move it mod, which is exacerbated by the poor performance. And the way these mods use key bindings makes it feel more like I’m learning a new software than a game. I guess that should be expected because they are powerful mods in a powerful simulator, but overall I’m overwhelmed.

Does anyone have experience switching from console to PC? Should I just push through? Maybe I should wait until I upgrade my mac, or is it poorly optimized on all macs?

If I’m going to spend $70+ on all the expansions that i want anyway, should I just get the complete bundle on sale for $95?

My main issue is that $95 just feels so steep to me, mainly because I already had the base game and all expansions up to sunset harbor on PS4. I can’t see myself playing without all the main expansions, especially the ones I’m already used to owning, but I’m also not 100% sure that I’m going to get back into the game again since I did eventually get bored on PS4. I am however like 90% sure I can get back into it because of modding, better controls, and the youtube series I want to start on PC.

I’m aware that the content creator packs aren’t really necessary thanks to mods, but since it’s only $10 more for the complete bundle (compared to starter edition plus the expansions) I figured it could be nice to start out with a larger library of buildings and stuff, so I don’t have to spend as much time digging through custom assets in the workshop til later.

There’s the $9 subscription that is tempting, but then I would be double-paying for the base game (and subscription cost) if I later decide to get the complete bundle, but I guess it’s better to pay a little extra than risk wasting $95 outright.

I guess I’m just looking for people to talk me into it, lol. But then again it’s possible that I’ll still be just a burnt out as I was on PS4, or that I won’t get enough initial momentum to carry me through (in the past I had to get a decent city going in order to get hooked. but I always played with infinite money and milestones since I wasn’t interested in the challenge aspect, so maybe that ruined some of the fun?)

Let me know!

TLDR; Should I start with the base game + subscription ($18 total), base game plus expansions (i think like $85 currently?), or just go all-in on the complete bundle so I never have to worry about individual DLC or CCP’s again ($95 currently)?

Edit: I should also note that C:S 2 isn’t even a question because I’m on a Mac.

I feel rushed and impatient while standing to pee. I just hate how long it takes, and will rush even though there's no need for urgency. Is this a common adhd/anxiety thing?

Especially if I was about to do something, like shower or grab a beverage, and have to detour to use the bathroom. The whole time I feel really impatient and will often stop too early and get peepee all over my pants :(

It's mostly bad when standing, doesn't really happen if I sit down and go on my phone.

Edit/Note: I'm not talking about pee shyness, I'm talking about like after the stream has already started.

Another thing worth mentioning is sometimes it leads me to do this weird optimization thing where i flush and everything in rapid succession.

What if there was a second mode/map where instead of running a perimeter, you capture everything in a small radius as you walk?

(Pic loosely related) I like how this guy decided to capture the road instead of area within it, which inspired my idea even though it’s different for obvious reason. The radius could be large enough to capture your average suburb block, so that if you go down every street in a neighborhood you can capture almost every part of it. The downside obviously would be that some areas are completely inaccessible, especially where properties are larger, but that’s not so bad imo. Side note: Maybe the faster you run the larger your radius becomes in real time, that could be a neat mechanic.

Can we stop letting people upload runs days after they actually happened?

I keep seeing changes to the map that make zero sense because they are dated over a week ago, and yet they weren’t there yesterday. They show up underneath runs that happened after but on top of runs that happened earlier, but it still makes no sense to allow them to be uploaded so late.

Very annoyed by how projects and sequences are handled... What is the proper way to do what I'm trying to do?

So sometimes I open old projects to copy stuff and paste it onto my current project.. never really had a problem here, but I found it odd that projects open as sequences? But I noticed that when I switch sequences it also switches the name of the project/save file at the top of my window, so that was reassuring.

Fast forward to now, I'm trying to do something a bit more complex. I want to essentially have a project that "branches off" into separate saves/projects as I work on it, so that I clip out smaller sections of a larger video file, as I go through and find clips. I want the clips to go to a new save, then I can trim it out, and keep the main project untrimmed. The issue I'm running into is that when I try to use command+z for example, instead of undo-ing the most recent action on the selected sequence, it undos it across all sequences.

Now, I know there's probably an easier/better workflow for the clipping I'm doing, like simply exporting a selected in/out. However, I'm trying to get a better understanding of sequences/projects/saves, how the interact, and how to differentiate between them as whole, incase I run into similar issues down the line when doing more complex work. What bothers me, is that when I open multiple projects they seem to open *as sequences* and yet a single project can also have multiple sequences? Is there a way to just have two completely separate instances of premiere running on my computer, because that would feel much safer to me.

I felt insanely good for the first couple weeks after I quit smoking. 3 months later I just feel normal again. How can I manufacture that "just recently quit" feeling now?

Specifically I loved not needing to eat very much because of the reduced appetite, and simultaneously I was getting a lot of creative work and cleaning done, and going on walks almost every day. It's too hot here in AZ to go on walks now but I try to hit the pool a couple times a week. Thing is, everything leveled out since then. I mean I think I'm still much better off than when I was smoking, but I do feel like I'm in a slump again where maybe I need another big change to get motivated again.

Free user: Can I limit my text chats to the downgraded model so that when I need to upload images I'm actually able to?

Currently I'm using up all my "premium features" just with normal text chats, so on the rare occasion that I need to upload a photo I'm NEVER able to, even though I haven't uploaded a photo in days. This is really annoying.

I always want to start hate watching things just so I’m not watching the same things all the time, since I already spend too much time watching the shows I like.

What shows are good to hate watch? I can’t imagine sitting thru something like kill tony, but I bet something like steve-o’s pod is full of enough cringe to be entertaining.
