Bangalore Foodies, Kerala has entered the plate again. Please remain calm. 😂

On my plate tonight: air fried sea bass head, kerala fish curry, matta rice, green peas thoran and North Indian style dal.

So basically, Kerala occupied 80% of the plate, North India sent one diplomatic representative, and Bangalore provided the address. 😌

And my diet has been officially rescheduled to next week.

Recipie:

Air Fried Sea Bass Head.

Ingredients - Sea bass head, Red chilli powder, Turmeric powder, Salt, Coconut oil.

Prep:

Mix red chilli powder + turmeric + salt + coconut oil into a thick paste.

Apply it lavishly into every nook, corner, crevice and available square millimetre of the fish head.

Place on baking paper.

Air fry at 200°C for 15 minutes, flipping after 7.5 minutes.

Then drop it to 120°C for another 15 minutes for a slower finish.

Done. Crispy outside, juicy inside, and staring back at you judgementally.

Fish Curry

Made earlier and given some time to sit around and contemplate its life choices.

Basic Dal.

Ingredients - Lentils/dal, Turmeric powder, Salt and the usual North Indian dal tadka ingredients.

Prep:

Nothing revolutionary happening here, just your regular home style North Indian dal.

Boil the lentils until properly soft > season > tadka > mix.

The quiet, sensible member of an otherwise fairly chaotic plate.

Green Peas Thoran.

Ingredients - Dried green peas, Grated coconut, Coconut oil, Mustard seeds, Garlic(finely chopped), A little ginger(finely chopped), Green chilli, Curry leaves, Shallots(finely chopped), Turmeric powder, Salt.

Prep:

Soak the green peas and pressure cook until soft. Keep a little of the cooking water aside.

For the thoran: coconut oil > mustard seeds pop > garlic + ginger lightly brown > curry leaves pop > green chilli + shallots.

Let the shallots lightly brown.

Add turmeric + salt > grated coconut.

Stir until the coconut gets very lightly toasted, then add the cooked green peas along with a little of their cooking water.

Mix well > cover > low flame for a few minutes so everything steams together.

Serve hot.

Good morning. Cereal never stood a chance.

Breakfast: Paal Kappa + yesterday’s Fish curry with kudampuli.

Recipie

Paal Kappa.

Ingredients - Tapioca / kappa, Thick coconut milk, Salt, Coconut oil, Mustard seeds, Garlic(finely chopped), A little ginger(finely chopped), Green chilli, Curry leaves, Onion/shallots(finely chopped).

Prep:

Boil the tapioca until properly soft, drain the water.

Mix the hot drained kappa with thick coconut milk and salt until creamy but still slightly chunky.

For the tadka: heat coconut oil > mustard seeds > garlic + ginger > green chilli > curry leaves > onions/shallots. Let everything lightly brown and become fragrant.

Pour the whole thing, oil and all, over the kappa. Mix through and serve piping hot.

Meen Curry - Sea bass in a Kerala style red curry with kudampuli.

Ingredients: Sea bass, coconut oil, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, shallots, Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, kudampuli (smoked dried kokum).

Prep:

Coconut oil > fenugreek seeds pop > mustard seeds pop > ginger + garlic lite brown > curry leaves pop > shallots. Let the shallots lightly caramelise. Add Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric and salt. Add enough water for the fish, followed by kudampuli. Cover and boil for a good 5 minutes. Add the fish, bring it back to a boil, cover for another 3–5 minutes, then turn off the heat and leave it to rest.

Ideally leave it overnight, because yesterday’s meen curry has had 12 hours to think about what it wants to become😁.

Serve generously over hot paal kappa.

On my plate: Kerala red rice, natholi fry & sea bass coconut milk curry

Nothing fancy just the sort of lunch where portion control quietly leaves the chat. 😌

Natholi fry :

Marinate cleaned natholi with salt, red chilli powder and turmeric, then chill for 1-2 hours. Air-fry with a light spray of coconut oil, or pan-fry in coconut oil with curry leaves until crisp.

Sea bass coconut milk curry :

Items required - Sea bass, coconut milk, coconut oil, methi seeds, mustard seeds, ginger, garlic, shallots, curry leaves, Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, salt & smoked dried kudampuli.

Pre-prep: Soak the kudampuli in warm water. Keep the coconut milk in two portions.

Heat coconut oil in a kadai/clay pot. Add methi seeds, then mustard seeds and let them pop.

Add finely chopped ginger and crushed garlic, saute until lightly browned. Add chopped shallots and curry leaves and let the onions mildly caramelise.

Add Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder and salt. Pour in smoked dried kudampuli/kokum along with the water it was soaked in and let it simmer. Add half the coconut milk and bring it up slowly to a boil, stirring gently in one direction.

Add the cleaned sea bass cubes, bring the curry back to a boil, then immediately lower the heat and simmer for another 2-3 minutes.

Add the remaining coconut milk, adjust salt, switch off the heat and let it rest uncovered for about an hour.

Then introduce it to some red rice and forget whatever serving size you originally had in mind. 😌

This started as dinner and slowly became catering. - I named it ' Silly Chicken '

Recipe / rough method:

Chicken pieces coated in a simple batter of cornflour, egg, pepper and salt.

Fry the chicken in hot oil, but don’t overdo it. Just fry it enough for the coating to become properly cooked and crispy. If you fry it for too long, the chicken inside will dry out.

In another pan, add a little oil, then finely chopped garlic and ginger. Don’t wait till it browns. Add large cut chunks of onion and green chillies, then add Kashmiri chilli powder as per taste and colour.

Add capsicum ( or any suitable veggies of your choice) and stir well till the veggies are evenly greased up. Then add in some dark soy sauce, tomato sauce, and a little corn starch slurry. Let the mixture come to a simmer.

Add the fried chicken back in, along with finely chopped coriander leaves. Let everything boil together for a few minutes so the chicken soaks up the sauce. Salt it up as your taste requirements ( msg would elevate the taste a notch up ).

Finally top it with pan-fried sesame seeds, mix well, and eat before someone else finds it.

How can a consumer fight a company if a product issue appears widespread but the company treats every case as isolated?

I am looking for legal advice on how to proceed against Nothing India regarding what appears to be a recurring battery issue in their Nothing Ear audio products.

I purchased Nothing Ear in June 2025. Within roughly 8–9 months, the charging case battery backup dropped badly, and the left earbud now lasts only 10–20 minutes while the right earbud still gives over 2 hours depending on settings.

I tried all standard troubleshooting: reset, firmware checks, re-pairing, ANC tests, volume tests, cleaning charging contacts, etc. Nothing fixed it.

Nothing support asked me to visit an authorised service centre. The service centre denied support because there is a light crack/scratch on the right earbud. The issue is that the right earbud is still working comparatively fine. My complaint is with the left earbud battery and charging case backup. I was not given any technical explanation connecting the mark on the right earbud to the battery failure in the left earbud and case.

I have also collected multiple public posts from Nothing Community, Reddit, and other forums where users report similar Nothing Ear battery issues: one earbud dying within minutes, buds not charging fully, poor case backup, and similar battery degradation within a year. I also spoke with a person at an authorised service centre who informally indicated that a very large percentage of Nothing Ear complaints they receive are battery-related, though I do not yet have documentary proof of that number.

My intent is not just to get a quick replacement or one-off resolution for myself. Even if Nothing resolves my individual case, I still want to understand how a consumer can push a company to acknowledge and address a recurring issue if enough evidence exists.

What I want is accountability:
If this is a known or widespread issue, the company should admit it, investigate it properly, and stop denying support by citing unrelated physical damage without technical reasoning.

This also feels like more than a convenience issue. These are lithium-ion battery devices used directly in or near the ear. If battery degradation or failure is common, it could also become a safety concern, not just a product-quality problem.

My questions:

  1. Can this be pursued as deficiency in service or unfair trade practice before a consumer commission?
  2. Can public forum posts from multiple users help establish a pattern of recurring defect?
  3. If my personal case gets resolved, can I still pursue the larger issue of company practice/accountability?
  4. Is there any way to push for acknowledgement, corrective action, extended support, or advisory for affected users?
  5. Would this be better handled through consumer court, National Consumer Helpline, CCPA, legal notice, or a collective complaint?

I have my invoice, videos showing the battery drop, photos of the earbuds, email records, service-centre details, call recordings, and a spreadsheet of public reports of similar battery-related complaints.

I am not looking for personal monetary gain. I want to know how a consumer can legally challenge a company when the issue appears broader than one defective unit.

Munnar, being unfairly beautiful as usual, remains my forever reset button.

Every time I go back, I remember why this place never leaves me. Lush green hilltops, mist, tea gardens, waterfalls, random bends in the road, small streams running through cardamom plantations, and that quiet feeling only Munnar can give.

Home definitely hits different.

One earbud dies in minutes while the other still works normally.

Less than a year old. The right earbud still lasts over two hours ( 5+Hrs promised), but the left one drops dead in 10–20 minutes. The charging case backup has also dropped pathetically. Warranty denied due to a lite crack on right bud (the one which is still working almost fine).

Screen recording attached to show the battery drop.

>EDIT: To the people down-voting a post about an earbud lasting 10–20 minutes on a full charge. I admire the loyalty. Some of you are defending this battery harder than it's defending its own charge. 😅
My left earbud doesn't last that long.

My experience with Nothing products and service in India : Ear (1), Phone (1), Nothing Ear, and why I’m asking other users to share theirs.

I am posting this here because this is about my experience with Nothing products and service in India, and I want to hear from other Indian users who have dealt with Nothing products or authorised service centres.

I have followed Carl Pei-led products since the OnePlus days. I started with the OnePlus One era in 2014 and stayed with OnePlus for years because the products and service gave me a reason to trust the brand. That history is why I gave Nothing multiple chances.

My first Nothing product was Ear (1). I wanted to support the brand early and even got it from the US when Indian stock was not easily available. That product later developed a build-quality issue where the back/cover started separating from the earbud.

After that, I bought a Nothing Phone (1) for my sibling. The phone developed a screen-line issue right after the warranty period ended. Paid almost 40% of original buying price for the repairs. For comparison, my three-year-old OnePlus 11 recently developed the known display line issue. The phone had a cracked back panel, but OnePlus still replaced the display because the issue was recognized as a display-line problem. They did not reject the display repair because of unrelated physical damage.

Despite my earlier Nothing experiences, I bought the Nothing Ear from Flipkart in June 2025.

For the last 3–4 months, the charging case battery backup has dropped badly. The case now charges the earbuds only around two times from roughly 10–15% to 100%.

For the last three weeks, the left earbud battery has collapsed. The right earbud still gives over two hours of usage depending on ANC, volume and conditions, but the left earbud lasts only 10–20 minutes. This makes the earbuds practically unusable for work, gym, or normal daily use.

I tried the usual troubleshooting: reset, unpairing and pairing again, firmware check through Nothing X, ANC on/off tests, different volume levels, charging contacts check, and keeping the case fully charged. None of it fixed the issue.

Nothing support advised me to visit an authorized service centre. The service centre denied support because there is a crack/scratch line on the right earbud. The right earbud is still working comparatively fine (~2hrs of backup on moderate usage at mid level volume ). My issue is with the left earbud battery and the charging case backup.

This is now my third Nothing device experience: Ear (1) cover separation, Phone (1) display-line issue, and now Nothing Ear battery failure all in the span if 1 year +/- one months time frame from purchase. I continued to support the brand because of my trust in the OnePlus/Carl Pei history, but this experience has made that trust difficult to justify.

Documenting my experience with three Nothing products - Ear (1), Phone (1), Nothing Ear - looking for other users experiences.

I have followed Carl Pei-led products since the OnePlus days. Started with the OnePlus One era in 2014 and stayed with OnePlus for years because the products and service gave me a reason to trust the brand. That history is the reason I gave Nothing multiple chances even after repeated product failures.

When Nothing launched Ear (1), I went to the extent of getting the Ear (1) from the US when Indian stock was not easily available. That product later developed a build-quality issue where the back/cover started separating from the earbud. I treated it as an early-product issue and still gave the brand the benefit of doubt.

After that, I bought a Nothing Phone (1) for my sibling. The phone developed a screen-line issue a month into post the warranty period ended. The service centre quote for a display replacement was in the ball park of Rs. 12k on a phone that cost around Rs. 27K. That was another bad experience, but I still did not write off the brand completely.

Despite my earlier Nothing experiences, I bought the Nothing Ear from Flipkart in June 2025 for around Rs.8.5K ( got it on a good discount). Still under warranty period!
For the last 3–4 months, the charging case battery backup has dropped badly. The case now charges the earbuds only around two times from roughly 10–15% to 100%, which is nowhere near what I expected from a premium product (current market price is still above Rs. 11k).
For the last three weeks, the left earbud battery has collapsed really sharp. The right earbud still gives over two hours of usage depending on ANC, volume and conditions, but the left earbud lasts only 10–20 minutes. This makes the earbuds practically unusable for work, gym, or normal daily use. I constantly have to put only the left earbud back into the case while the right one continues working.

I tried the usual troubleshooting before approaching service: reset, unpairing and pairing again, checking firmware through the Nothing X app, testing ANC on and off, testing different volume levels, checking charging contacts, and keeping the case fully charged. None of it fixed the issue.

Nothing support advised me to visit an authorized service centre. The service centre denied support because there is a crack/scratch line on the right earbud. The right earbud is the one that is still working comparatively fine. My issue is with the left earbud battery and the charging case battery backup.

I was not given a proper technical explanation connecting a mark on the right earbud to the left earbud and case battery failure. The suggestion was effectively to buy another earbud/product.

This is the part I find unacceptable: a genuine battery or design issue appears to be dismissed because of unrelated physical damage on a different component. If the mark on the right earbud caused the left earbud and case battery issue, there should be a clear technical explanation for that.

For comparison, my three-year-old OnePlus 11 recently developed the known display line issue. My phone had a cracked back panel, but OnePlus still replaced the display because the issue was recognized as a display-line problem. They did not reject the display repair just because an unrelated part of the phone had physical damage. That is how service should be handled when the defect and the physical damage are not technically connected.

This is now my third Nothing device experience: Ear (1) cover separation, Phone (1) display-line issue, and now Nothing Ear battery failure. I continued to support the brand because of my trust in the OnePlus/Carl Pei history, but this experience has made that trust difficult to justify.

I am posting this to document my experience with Nothing products and service. I would like to hear from other users as well. If you have used Nothing products, please comment and share your experience - good or bad - with the product quality, long-term reliability, and service support. I want this thread to reflect what actual users have faced, not just my case.

Where can I buy/get live earthworms in Bengaluru?

Hey Folks,

I’m looking to get live earthworms in Bengaluru, not specifically for vermicomposting. I need them for my garden/soil setup, so I’m trying to find a local - nurseries, farms, aquarium/fishing bait shops, or anyone who supplies them.

Preferably around Mahadebpura / Hoodi side, but I can travel if needed.

Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks! 🌱

Location - Bengaluru
