What are these guys doing? Eating larva or spinning cocoon?
Haven't observed any ants eating eggs or larva but don't know what's going on

so i got lucky with a queen, and she made some workers. unfortunately, i've made a complete mess of the tube. such as - cotton swab during black.
spilled honey spilled honey water
i've tried to put honey (or honey water) on a piece of alum foil, but that hasn't worked at all. it just moves around due to the rolling nature of the test tube. i know after 15-20 workers you can try an outworld, but at this initial stage, how can you give the honey without making a complete mess?
This is a floor drain that is back flowing when using the sink. Is this a floor trap issue (clogged or choked) and is that something I can fix without any special tools? I only have a snake train and have no idea what the trap or drain looks like.
I have excellent beans and technique generally seems OK. Wondering how much is affecting my brew and sometimes think it's gotta affect it a lot. I know Singapore tap is really good but obviously tww is even better consistency. So is it worth upgrading the water?
Bonjour, my partner love's apple pies, apple tarts, etc. He had a good apple tarte in Paris and we were wondering whether there are any suggestions for "Tarte Fine aux Pommes". yes, i know many patisseries offer it, but we're trying to get something more
Even Chez Georges (rue) has increased the prices to 60 euros (or more). wanted to end the trip with a bang by getting this delightful dish but don't want to be spending so much if possible.
we're staying in the 8th (sorry). there's a lot of tourist options, but if anyone has more local and authentic options, we would highly appreciate some bistro suggestions. merci!
visiting paris. of course, france has great streetwear and casual luxury brands, but wanted to generate some ideas for new or upcoming brands that aren't global and can't get outside of paris. would appreciate any recs!
bonjour. unfortunately, don't have a lot of time in marseille. but will have a half day to do a snack and a dinner and walk the pier. looking for an authentic meal experience. can be cheap or expensive, just want to get a taste of what the culturally diverse marseille has to offer. merci!
visiting paris in a few weeks and tanat is on the list. i'm trying to sub the 4 bag from tanat, but need to know how long it takes for them to send out and deliver the beans so that i can time it appropriately. any ideas? do they ship as soon as you subscribe or is it like TW, where all orders are shipped on the same day once a month.
what are some unique or different dopp / hack stuff you bring while traveling? mine is various straps and binder clips for curtains and the like
i find binder clips helpful for creating better blackout, and straps similarly useful as carabiners but slightly more flexible
hi - any reasonable alts for the PE hat? i know tilley gets suggested, but it just doesn't do it for me. perhaps just getting a regular old military surplus booney will be better. i also heard that these go on sale, but it's not clear when, or if, they do
unfortunately, i have still never been able to make the journey to tomita's HQ. and thus i've only known the KITTE version, which i've loved. the yuzu that they add to the bowl offers such a contrast and balance to the soup that really elevates KITTE tomita above most / all the tsukemen that i normally eat.
rokushina - too commercial menya itto - very good, maybe too salty and one-note fuunji - was amazing the first time, then each subsequent time was a bit cloying. years passed without visiting and now knowing that the ownership has changed, i'm not sure what to think. i could be interested in trying it this week.
is it funny that i like tomita's sister branch so much?
i know sey offers 2 pound bags. but trying to go deeper and seeing if there's any other light or ultra light roaster offering something larger. thanks!
