DIY carbon fiber Gokart fairings, wrapped and ready

I am a Body Shop Mechanic trying to get into any kind of Motorsport or Additive Manufacturing business. To build out my portfolio and practice on a larger scale I decided to 3D scan my Go Kart last year and turn it into a one-off carbon fiber show-Kart. Today marks the day I am finally finished with the project (for now) and I am happy to present to you: the carbon fiber GoKart!

Wrapped by the amazing @sexyout on instagram

I plan on bringing the kart with me every time I go to the track, as a sort of Guerilla marketing campaign.
Whether or not I will ever drive it like this… remains to be seen but the curiosity is killing me!

I’d love to have your thoughts and input on the whole project and feel free to ask me questions.

My instagram is @blauwasser_racing if you’re interested in my other projects. Next I plan on making a full carbon fiber e46 bodykit - small teaser in the last image!

What are these specs in the Epoxy? (Resin infusion)

I recently made this carbon fiber wing and noticed, in direct sunlight, these „dust“ specs trapped under the epoxy all over the part.

My theories:

-Dust from sanding
-Air bubbles
-Residue from spray glue

I 3D printed the mold, coated it in epoxy and sanded to remove layer lines and seal the mold. Afterwards I applied PVA mold release agent with a roller.

For the layup I used easy fusion fix gp2 spray glue.
Then resin infusion.

Initially I thought it was dust from Sanding but I’m pretty sure I wiped everything down well…

Any help is much appreciated!

DIY carbon fiber nosecone and wing! What do you think?

Im Making all my go-karts bumpers out of carbon fiber using resin infusion. I have a Einscan 2 3D scanner and a Bambu lab X1C which I used to print the mold/ tooling. This is my first time doing anything like this but I’m pretty happy with the results so far!

I’m planning on offering a custom service for others who want to turn their go kart bumpers into carbon fiber as well as selling premade ones. Would you be interested in something like this? Why or why not?

How would you create this bevel?

I'm making a mould for a carbon fiber widebody fender and need to bevel the base of the screw holes. The process needs to be repeatable as I plan on doing this for the whole bodykit. I've spent hours trying different methods but cannot find anything that prduces halfway decent results.

I'm still a bit of a Blender noob tbh so maybe I'm missing something obvious.... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Me and a couple of friends were planing to camp at Chehalis this weekend but since the fire ban cam in effect we were wondering if a charcoal grill like the one pictured would be allowed?
