Categorizing Wholesale Club Membership Fees

Just looking for input/opinions. I just joined Costco for the first time & I’m wondering how y’all categorize wholesale club membership fees.

I’d like to create a separate category, logically, but I don’t have anything comparable. What do y’all do?

Rest Reminder + everything else

Hi, y’all- this is a post about the Hatch Restore.

I found this nice article about how goodnight, phone, cue, & unwind are intended to interact/sequence.

My question is this- how does the “rest reminder” option (in the cue to unwind settings) play into all this?

need input for a warm January birthday trip!

Hi, y’all!

I need help!

I am turning 40 the first week of January 2027, and I’d like to go on a trip. I have been putting this off & really need to get my life together & book at least flights!

Parameters:

  • I want to go somewhere warm. I’m located in the US & it’s cold on my birthday & I hate it.
  • I am not 100% sure of my budget, but I should have around $4k-$5k USD to spend.
  • I should have 3 weeks of PTO at that time. I don’t have to use all of it, but I don’t love crossing oceans for less than 2 weeks. I would be willing to go early, like even as early as Christmas Eve, to make use of holiday closures at my work. I don’t have to, but it might be ideal.
  • Places I’ve thought about: Australia, except that I’ve heard that’s the most expensive time of the year & I don’t know that it could be done on my budget. Then I started thinking about a safari, maybe Tanzania, but it seems cost prohibitive as well unless I can find a joining safari - like a group safari I could join with others. I asked in the safari subreddit and they made it seem like that wouldn’t be possible, but I figure this group would have better recommendations, if it’s doable. I’m absolutely open to either of these ideas if y’all think they’re doable! But also looking for other suggestions since those options are pricey.
  • No Europe, no North America. Not in January!
  • Open to Africa, South America, Central America, Caribbean, Asia, Australia/Pacific.
  • I want something fun, special, a little lush. Bonus points if it’s a cheaper location & my money can go further, but I’m open to ideas. I like city stays but I also like smaller towns/nature.
  • I’ve done a lot of traveling so far. I lived in Europe for a year, so I’ve done most countries in Europe, and then Morocco, Japan, South Korea, Ecuador, Colombia. Primarily city stays but also things like Galapagos, volunteering at a wildlife refuge in the Amazon basin, overnight trip into the Sahara, etc. Most of my travel has been solo, so I’m pretty confident going places on my own.

I'd be grateful for any ideas y'all have! Thank you so much <3

How are y’all getting these good photos?

This sub crosses my feed from time to time and I find it interesting, decided to join. Considered posting my own eyes, but… how are y’all getting these quality photos of your eyes?! Any time I try to take a picture of my eye it’s blurry and terrible.

[Routine Help] body skin exfoliation / hyperpigmentation reduction

This is kind of an embarrassing post, but I’m going ahead with it.

I have never had soft skin. Well, I take that back- my face used to be incredibly soft in my teens and 20s, but my arms, legs, and chest have always had some texture. My chest has a texture as if it has a million tiny filled pores, like blackheads- they don’t show up from far away, but up close, you can see, and it just feels a bit “chicken skin”-esque. The backs or my upper arms have bumps, and my legs, especially my thighs, have always had bumps and little red dots.

I know I must have KP in some or all of these places.

I have had laser hair removal for my legs, but of course I do still have some hair, which I epilate. Avoiding shaving helps me avoid worsening my skin texture.

However, with epilating, I do feel like my skin is prone to ingrown hairs. Due to a combination of anxiety which can manifest itself in skin picking and these ingrown hairs existing, I then have a terrible, TERRIBLE habit of going at these hairs with tweezers.

I’m at the point where my life is a bit less stressful and I’ve become more cognizant of what I’m doing, and I’m feeling like I want to stop my skin picking, but it’s hard when I feel like I want to hide my legs due to a combination of weight gain and now scarring.

I feel like if I had some hope of improved texture/decreased coloration of the scarring, I could quit my bad habit.

What are the products you recommend for exfoliation of body skin? I feel like if I spend some time and energy nurturing my skin, then I could have that extra motivation to stop harming it. I also feel like some good exfoliation could make me less prone to ingrown hairs and then I’d be solving things from more than one angle, too.

need some direction - potential safari Dec 2026/Jan 2027

Hi, all-

I am a solo female traveler & I’m looking to plan something for my 40th birthday in January 2027.

While reading online about good travel spots for January, Tanzania came up, so I’ve been playing with the idea of a safari.

As I’ve started looking into this, I’m a bit overwhelmed and need direction. This isn’t something that is as easy for solo travel as other trips I’ve done.

I’m going to list my parameters. If y’all could give me some pointers on where to get started, I would greatly appreciate it! I need to figure out if this is doable pretty soon, otherwise I’ll need to move on to another warm & fun January destination.

-Dates: I have 2-3 weeks of PTO to play with, and my birthday is the first week of January, so I’d definitely like to be gone that week. I wouldn’t mind being gone starting right before Christmas to utilize Christmas work closures as part of my trip as well. In fact that might be ideal, but not a dealbreaker if I can't.

-Location: I don’t have to do Tanzania if there is somewhere better for January. I'm open to suggestions. I do however like the idea of doing something else with the safari, like the beach (I keep reading Zanzibar) and possibly a tiny bit of city stay to see a subsaharan African city. (The only African country I’ve been to so far is Morocco.)

-Safari Tour: Since it’s just me, a private tour would be expensive per person and also possibly a little bit awkward. I’m looking more for a joining tour or something where I could be a part of a group of a mix of people (not just like… me joining in on one family’s tour, hopefully). Also, I’m turning 40, not 25, and while I do have a youthful spirit, I don’t need to be the one old lady on a joining tour that’s really geared for 20-somethings.

-Budget: I’m not 100% sure. I’m usually more of a budget traveler- my travel was primarily hostels until my late 30s, and even now I’ll do a little hosteling alongside low budget hotels or Airbnbs. The thing that makes me worried about pricing for this is that I also need to look at flights, which is going to be a big chunk of this (also, if you have any recommendations for best time frames to seek out flights, best flight paths from the states, etc., I’m open). Would it be possible to do something like this for $3-4k? I feel like if I could get some direction on touring companies to look at, then I can start getting a better idea of pricing, adjust my expectations if necessary, and/or move on to another trip idea if necessary.

Thank you so much for any direction you can provide!

best way to move employer-sponsored funds (at Fidelity) to Fidelity IRA

Hi, all-

Previously, when I have left a job, I have moved funds from the non-Fidelity brokerage where my employer-sponsored funds were held into my Fidelity IRA. (I hold both a Roth and a Traditional so that I can move funds into the appropriate bucket based on original contribution tax status.)

I recently was employed by a company that used Fidelity for employer-sponsored accounts (403b, 401a). My last day at that company was last week, and once my final paychecks and contributions have all landed, I would like to roll over the funds from my employer-sponsored Fidelity accounts to my personal Fidelity accounts.

I imagine that this must be easier than all that I've gone through with transferring external accounts previously- those experiences have ranged from easy to insane (looking at you, AXA), but they all involved either initiating a request at the external brokerage, getting issued a check, and depositing it into the appropriate IRA OR a digital transfer.

What will this process look like for a Fidelity to Fidelity transfer? Will it be as easy as hitting "transfer" in the app? Right now, I don't see my 403b/401a in the list of accounts I can transfer "from," but I'm also waiting for all the separation details to go through.

I know I can call, but a. I don't have a lot of phone availability during business hours, and b. I really like to do things like this myself if I can, so I'm curious about what this process will look like.

Thank you!

I’m assuming the answer is “yes,” but- just to be sure- even this citric acid which is intended to can tomatoes is just fine for the rinse? I have used the Downy Rinse & Refresh & know I like using CA, but wanting to switch for cost effectiveness.
