Controller is not detected after reconnecting (GameSir Cyclone 2, 2.4 GHz)

I'm using a GameSir Cyclone 2 controller on Windows 11 with the 2.4 GHz USB dongle.

If the controller turns off due to inactivity (or disconnects for any reason), I can turn it back on and Windows recognizes it immediately. However, Ship of Harkinian no longer receives any controller input until I completely restart the game.

This doesn't happen in other games I've tested, including other recompilation/port projects, where the controller reconnects normally without restarting the game.

Steps to reproduce:

Launch Ship of Harkinian.

Play using a GameSir Cyclone 2 over the 2.4 GHz dongle.

Let the controller power off due to inactivity (or disconnect it).

Turn the controller back on.

Expected behavior: The game should detect the controller again automatically after it reconnects.

Actual behavior: The controller is no longer recognized by the game until Ship of Harkinian is restarted.

System information:

Ship of Harkinian: v9.2.3

OS: Windows 11

Controller: GameSir Cyclone 2 (2.4 GHz USB dongle)

I already opened an issue on GitHub, but haven't received an update in days, so decided to post here in hopes someone might have a solution.

Help me pick my next guitar - Schecter Omen Elite 6 (Charcoal) vs Schecter C-1 Exotic (Spalted Mapple)

I'm looking to buy a new guitar that I'll hopefully enjoy for a long time, and I've pretty much narrowed it down to two: the Schecter C-1 Exotic Spalted Maple and the Omen Elite-6 (Charcoal).

For a bit of context, I'm not a gigging musician or anything like that. I just play at home after work because it's something I genuinely enjoy. I like learning riffs, messing around with solos, and playing mostly metal and hard rock. I don't need a professional instrument, but I do want to buy something that's well made and that I'll be happy with for years.

The Omen Elite-6 really appeals to me because I prefer a hardtail bridge, I like the look of it, and from what I've heard, the pickups seem to fit the kind of music I play really well.

The C-1 Exotic, on the other hand, has a lot of features that I like: ebony fretboard, X-jumbo frets, locking tuners, carbon fiber reinforcement in the neck, and I absolutely love the look of the spalted maple top.

I do have a couple of questions, though. One is the pickups on the Exotic. Most of the demos I've found are blues, clean stuff, or classic rock. I haven't found many people playing heavier metal on it, so I'm curious how well the Diamond Plus pickups handle tighter, heavier riffs.

The other thing I've noticed from photos and videos is that the upper volume knob looks pretty close to where my picking hand would naturally sit. For those of you who own one, is that actually noticeable when palm muting, or is it one of those things that looks worse on camera than it is in real life?

Unfortunately, trying them before buying isn't really an option since the closest stores are several hours away from me, so I'm relying a lot on other people's experiences.

For those of you who've played or owned either guitar, which one would you choose and why? Is the C-1 Exotic worth the extra money over the Omen Elite-6, or is the Omen such a good guitar that you'd save the difference?

I'd especially love to hear from people who've actually owned one or both of them rather than just compared the specs.

Schecter C-1 Exotic Spalted Mapple

Two stores have the same guitar with different patterns. I can't decide between the two. The headstock on the right looks sick, but the body on the left is more pronouncedz though I'm not a big fan of the sides looking kinda unfinished.

I'd like to get some opinions on this. also, if you have the guitar, are you happy with your purchase?

AC louver is misaligned and I can't figure out why

The horizontal louver on my AC unit (the part that moves up and down to direct airflow) has suddenly started hanging crooked. The right side sits flush like it always did, but the left side has about a 3mm gap when it's in the closed position. If I press it from below it clicks back into place, but as soon as I let go it droops again. This literally just happened once out of nowhere and it never corrected itself. Attaching a video so you can see what I mean.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Hoping it's an easy fix.

Far Cry 6 on PC Game Pass stuck on 'Enable Extension'

Having a weird issue trying to play Far Cry 6 on PC Game Pass and can't figure it out.

The game is included in my subscription but there's no install button. Instead it shows "Enable Extension" and when I click it, I just get three dots on a gray background that loads forever.

I also tried going into Settings > Library & Extensions > Ubisoft Connect PC and clicking "Connect to Ubisoft Connect on PC". It shows "Updating" underneath and gets completely stuck. I monitored my network and nothing is actually downloading, it's just frozen.

Here's what I've already tried:

- Reinstalled Ubisoft Connect

- Reinstalled the Xbox app

- Restarted my PC

- Went through the account linking process again at gamepass.ubisoft.com (accounts were already connected but redid it just to be safe)

None of it made any difference. Has anyone run into this and found a fix? Really at a loss here.

Anyone else having issues with JDownloader integration + temporarily unavailable errors on Torbox?

Hey everyone,

I recently switched to Torbox from RD and I'm running into a few issues I can't quite figure out. Wanted to check if anyone else has experienced these and found workarounds.

Background: I mainly use Torbox to convert torrents into direct downloads and then send them to JDownloader 2 via the built-in "Move to JDownloader" button. My JD2 settings are conservative on purpose: 1 file at a time, 8 chunks per file, 1 connection per file.

Issue 1: "Temporarily Unavailable" errors on many files in a batch

When I add a torrent, convert it, and send all the links (say, 30 files) to JDownloader at once, some download fine and others show "Temporarily Unavailable." It's not consistent, could be 15 out of 30 that fail. A workaround I found is stopping and restarting the download queue a couple of times, which eventually gets them going. But it's annoying and manual.

Support told me this might be related to hitting the 60 requests/hour limit. But I'm only adding ~30 files total and downloading one at a time, that shouldn't be anywhere near the limit. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a smarter way to throttle JD2 to avoid triggering it?

Issue 2: ZIP downloads aren't resumable

Support suggested zipping the entire torrent and downloading as a single file to avoid the request-limit issue. The problem: if the download fails partway through (which happens on large files for me, think 20-30 GB), it can't resume. You have to start over.

Support explained this is because the ZIP is generated on the fly. I get the technical reasoning, but other services handle this fine with resumable ZIPs. Has anyone found a way around this, or is this just a known limitation we have to live with?

Issue 3: Third-party host links (GoFile, 1fichier, etc.) frequently fail to resolve

Torbox officially supports hosts like GoFile, 1fichier, Mega, and others. But when I paste links from those hosts, it usually only successfully resolves 1 or 2 out of every 10. The rest fail. And then sometimes they randomly start working again later.

I'm nowhere near my concurrent download limit when this happens. Support said they can't assist with third-party integrations, which is frustrating given that these hosts are listed as officially supported on their site.

Issue 4: Rapidgator and DDownload always showing as offline

I also asked support why Rapidgator and DDownload are permanently showing as offline on Torbox. Their response was that these hosts are "unreliable and not maintained" because the accounts keep getting banned.

Here's the thing though, I used both of these hosts on RD for years without any issues. They worked consistently and without interruption. So I'm skeptical that the hosts themselves are the problem. Is this a Torbox-specific issue with how they manage their premium accounts for these hosts? Has anyone found a workaround, or are these two basically dead on Torbox indefinitely?

Anyone dealt with any of these? I used to use a different service without any of these problems, so I'm not sure if I'm missing some configuration on Torbox's end or if these are known bugs. Any advice appreciated!

PS: These are persistent issues and not related to the maintenance that happened this morning. I just happened to post the issue during the maintenance, but they're unrelated. This is a happening constantly since I subbed the other day and also happened when I tested the service for a few months last year.

External Drive Seemingly Stuck in USB 2.0 Mode

I have a WD Elements 2620 external hard drive (Model 40NDZW) that I’ve owned for about a year. Recently, it started running at USB 2.0 speeds (10-15 MB/s) instead of the usual USB 3.0 speeds (80+ MB/s).

I’ve tried:

  • Multiple USB 3.0 cables and ports on different PCs.
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling drivers.
  • Testing on another computer.

I can remove the drive from the enclosure, but it uses a proprietary connector, so I can’t connect it to an external HDD reader or another enclosure. In Device Manager, the Hardware ID shows USBSTOR\DiskWD______Elements_2620___1023, which seems to confirm it’s stuck in USB 2.0 mode.

Has anyone else experienced this with the 2620 model? Any fixes or workarounds?

Xbox app shows as "Application Frame Host" in taskbar with no icon

Hey everyone, I've been dealing with a frustrating issue on my Windows 11 PC for a while now and can't figure it out. Hoping someone here has seen this before.

The problem: When I open the Xbox app, it doesn't show the Xbox icon in the taskbar. Instead it shows a blank icon and when I hover over it, it says "Application Frame Host" instead of "Xbox". If I pin it to the taskbar, the pinned icon also has no icon and says "Application Frame Host". When the app is running and I click the pinned icon, it opens a separate "Application Frame Host" instance instead of grouping with the running app. Right clicking the taskbar entry shows "Application Frame Host" in the jump list instead of Xbox.

I tested on my laptop and everything works perfectly there -- correct Xbox icon, correct name, pins correctly.

System info:

  • Windows 11
  • This is my personal PC, local admin account
  • I have run Chris Titus Tech Windows Utility and possibly O&O ShutUp10 in the past

What I have already tried:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app multiple times via PowerShell and winget
  • Reinstalling Gaming Services
  • Clearing the icon cache (standard method and manual deletion of iconcache_*.db files)
  • Re-registering the Xbox app via Add-AppxPackage and AppXManifest.xml (fails with 0x80073D02 while app is running)
  • Re-registering all UWP apps via Get-AppxPackage
  • Running SFC /scannow and DISM /RestoreHealth
  • Starting the Application Identity service (AppIDSvc) and setting it to Automatic via registry
  • Checking all Xbox-related services (Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Game Save, Xbox Live Networking Service) -- all set to Manual which is default
  • Verifying the Xbox app installation -- all files are present and AppXManifest.xml correctly declares DisplayName as "Xbox"
  • Manually creating missing AppModel registry entries under HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\Repository\Packages\Microsoft.GamingApp
  • Adding Capabilities, URLAssociations and FileAssociations subkeys to match a working laptop
  • Running the Gaming Services Repair Tool

What I found through troubleshooting:

  • The Xbox app itself is healthy -- correct version, Gaming Services status is OK, all exe files present
  • The AppXManifest.xml correctly identifies the app as "Xbox"
  • Other Microsoft Store apps work fine with correct icons -- this is Xbox specific
  • Get-StartApps correctly shows the app as "Xbox" with the right AppID
  • ApplicationFrameHost.exe reports its MainWindowTitle as "Xbox" so the app knows its identity, but the taskbar doesn't group it correctly
  • On my laptop the HKCU AppModel registry path for the Xbox app had a full Capabilities subkey populated automatically. On my PC this subkey was missing and had to be created manually, but even after adding it the issue persists
  • I have full admin rights on the system
  • There are permission issues on some system services -- even as admin I get Access Denied when trying to change the Application Identity service startup type via Services.msc or Set-Service, though the registry edit workaround succeeded

My theory: Something left over from Chris Titus Tech Windows Utility or O&O ShutUp10 has broken the way Windows attributes UWP app windows to their app identity for taskbar grouping purposes. The Xbox app installs and runs fine, but Windows can't correctly link the running ApplicationFrameHost window back to the Xbox app identity on my specific user profile.

What I have NOT tried yet:

  • Windows repair install (in-place upgrade) -- want to avoid this if possible
  • Creating a new user profile -- want to avoid this too

Has anyone seen this specific issue and found a targeted fix? Particularly interested in what registry keys or system settings control UWP window-to-app-identity mapping for taskbar grouping. Any help appreciated.
