Which under-the-radar companies do you think will be major AI beneficiaries over the next decade?

Hi,

It seems like most AI investing discussions focus on the obvious names (NVIDIA, Microsoft, AMD, etc.), but I'm more interested in companies that could benefit indirectly from AI and still aren't getting much attention.

For example, Sandisk ended up benefiting significantly from AI-driven storage demand. Looking back, that wasn't an obvious AI investment at the time.

What companies do you think could be in a similar position today?

I'm thinking about areas like:

  • Semiconductors
  • Memory
  • Networking
  • Advanced packaging
  • Power infrastructure
  • Cooling
  • Data centers
  • Robotics
  • Software
  • Other "picks and shovels" businesses supporting AI

What AI-related stocks are you buying that aren't already obvious?

Hi,

I'm looking to add more AI exposure to my portfolio. I'm interested in companies that could benefit directly or indirectly from AI over the next 5–10 years; whether that's semiconductors, memory, networking, power infrastructure, cooling, data centers, robotics, software, or "picks and shovels" businesses that most people aren't talking about yet.

I'm looking for companies that are still relatively under the radar or potentially undervalued; not just the current AI hype stocks.

I feel like I missed the boat on how Sandisk benefited from the surge in AI-driven storage demand before it became widely recognized. I'm hoping there are other companies in a similar position today that could see significant long-term growth.

What AI-related stocks are you accumulating for the long term, and why?

Full Motion Mount or Flat Mount for 85” TV?

Hi,

I’m getting an 85” TV and trying to decide between a full motion wall mount or a flat/low-profile mount.

The TV will mainly stay flat against the wall, so I’m not really looking to constantly angle it or move it around.

I’m leaning toward a full motion mount mostly because it seems like it would make it easier to access the back of the TV for cables, HDMI changes, cleaning, etc.

For anyone with a larger TV like this, would you recommend full motion or flat mount?

Any specific brands (Perlesmith, Echogear, USX Mount, etc) you like better than others?

Best First 5.1.2 Atmos System Around $1,500?

Hi,

I just finished my basement and am putting together my first home theater setup for 85" TV I'm looking to buy. I'm looking for recommendations for a 5.1 surround sound system with an AV receiver plus 2 in-ceiling Atmos speakers (5.1.2).

My budget is around $1,500, and I'm completely fine with used or refurbished equipment if it offers better value. I'm not looking to go crazy expensive; just something that's affordable, sounds great, and would be a solid first system.

One package I was considering is the Klipsch Reference Cinema 5.1 system with the Onkyo TX-RZ30 receiver for around $1,500, but it doesn't include the two Atmos ceiling speakers, so I'd still need to buy those separately.

https://www.adorama.com/klipsch-reference-cinema-system-5-1-dolby-atmos-speakers-onkyo-tx-rz30-receiver/p/kprefsysa

Would you recommend that package, or is there a better combination (new or used) that would give me better sound quality and value within my budget?

75" or 85" TV for a newly finished basement with 10' viewing distance? (Link to Photos)

Hi,

I just finished my basement and am trying to decide between a 75" and 85" TV.

The couch will likely be about 10 feet from the TV. I could move the couch farther back, but I'd prefer not to because I need to leave enough open space in front of the stairs for easy access to the rest of the basement and the laundry area.

Photos: https://gyazo.com/collections/062c68d84c7a935d180f5313cf5163d0

A few other details:

  • Basement ceiling height is only 7 feet.
  • TV will be wall-mounted.
  • Main use will be movies, sports, streaming, and gaming.
  • I've already run all the speaker wire behind the walls and eventually plan to install a 5.1.4 surround sound system with four Atmos speakers in the ceiling.
  • I'll also have a center channel speaker below the TV.
  • Floor to bottom of TV is 38"

I've attached photos. The blue painter's tape on the wall outlines approximately where the TVs would be mounted:

  • Smaller outline = 75" TV
  • Larger outline = 85" TV

Based on the room size, viewing distance, and the photos, which would you choose ? Does the 85" look too large for the space, especially with the 7-foot ceilings, or would you regret going with the 75"?

For anyone with a similar viewing distance and dedicated basement/home theater setup, what size did you ended up with and would you'd do anything differently?

Hi,

I miscalculated my rough opening/header height and now my finished opening is about 79.5”, but I need 80.5” to install a 24x80 JELD-WEN bifold door with the track.

So I’m about 1” short.

I’ve trimmed doors before, but taking a full inch off a bifold seems risky.

I’m leaning towards:

  • opening up the drywall
  • raising the header ~1”
  • reinstalling the jamb/trim

Does that sound like the best way to fix this?

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on painting a basement stair area.

Please see the photos (I marked the sections with red arrows). I’m not sure what would look best for these areas:

  • For the backside of the stairs (the angled section) - would you use ceiling white (flat) or treat it as part of the wall and use wall paint?
  • When going downstairs, I already painted the sloped ceiling white, but there’s a short vertical piece right below it - should that stay ceiling white (flat) or be painted the same color as the walls (eggshell)?
