Bank visit turn out good

Pata hai aaj kya hua

I went to the bank around 1:30 PM to open a new account. When I reached there, surprisingly, no one seemed to be working—almost every employee was sitting around eating jalebi and samosas.

So I just sat there awkwardly, waiting for the guard where I was supposed to go. Honestly, the guard knows everything, so I trusted him with my fate. He eventually sent me to this young girl who looked around 19–20.

I asked her, “New account open ho jayega?”

She casually replied, “Nahi ho payega… abhi busy hoon, I’m eating right now.”

After about five minutes, I went and stood at her counter because every bank visit for me somehow turns into an awkward viva.

She asked, “e-KYC karwana hai?”

I said, “Nahi, bank account open karwana hai.”

She said, “Haan, pehle e-KYC hoga.”

While she was doing the e-KYC, she randomly asked me, “Gen Z ho kya?”

I said, “Yes.”

Then she turned to her colleague standing beside her and casually said, “Gen Z itne bhole toh nahi hote.”

Then she asked my age. I said, “20.”

Her colleague said something like, “She is also 20… no, 19 and a half or 20.”

Then she told me that they could also open a demat account for me.

At one point, my thumb was still on the fingerprint scanner, and she was talking to her colleague instead of telling me that I could remove it. After a while, she suddenly realized and said to her colleague, “Arre yaar, main toh usko bata bhi nahi rahi done ho gaya. Woh bechara apna thumb rakhe hue hai.”

And then, completely casually, she said to her colleague, “He is looking cute, kaise silently khada hua hai.”

I was just standing there like 🧍🏻‍♂️, pretending I heard absolutely nothing.

Anyway, the e-KYC was finally done. She asked me a couple more questions, like what I do, and I said I’m a student.

Then I moved to the next counter, but she also came along with me, carrying my documents, and told the next employee, “Sir, inka account open karwana hai.”

So now the three of us—the girl, her colleague, and me—were standing at the next counter while the employee processed my account. For 2 3 mins then they moved to there seats.

He asked me for an electricity bill. I said I didn’t have a physical copy with me, but I had the PDF and could get it printed.

Then the girl gave me her number and said, “Share me the PDF, main print nikalwa dungi.”

I was filling one form and she asked me mai kuch help karo and my stright answer was nhi kar lunga I realised after 3 4 second she was trying to help me

A few moments later, my bank account was finally opened.

Then I went back to her counter to open the demat account—which I honestly didn’t even need. But for some reason, I just couldn’t say no.

And that’s another thing I don’t understand about myself: why do I suddenly lose the ability to say “no” when someone asks me something in person?

Anyway, the demat account was opened too. She told me, “Everything is done. Main do din mein call karke bataungi demat account kaise work karta hai.”

And that was my completely normal, totally uneventful bank visit.
