Do we have to worry about pilots?!

I’m a nervous flyer at the best of times. I saw a TikTok of a fully licensed pilot speaking about the issues with the flydubai situation the other day & he has said how airlines will potentially have problems on their hands if they don’t do more to make passengers at ease about who’s flying the planes. And also asked the question of will this influence potentially radicalised pilots to try & follow the actions of this individual?
This pilot managed to get through FlyDubais vetting process after being banned from flying in Oman due to their knowing he had radical opinions and beliefs.

Obviously it’s not common for pilots to have such beliefs and opinions but it does make me very anxious. Will airlines take new measures, or do anything in the wake of this? Be it publicly for their passengers or behind the scenes?

Experience with Bakong tourist app?

I’m heading to Cambodia early next year for my second visit. I’ve downloaded the bakong tourist app as I feel it may make paying slightly easier at certain places but my verification just won’t go through for some reason, it’s throwing up different errors. The main one just being that “something went wrong”
Has anyone else had issue with the app?
Is it a persevere and it’ll eventually work type thing?

Just booked ha giang loop with VIP cabin bus. How many times does does it stop?

Hello,
I’ve just booked my ha giang loop experience with motorventures & I’ve gone for the VIP cabin bus, setting off approx 11am.
How many times will it stop for toilet breaks? I’m someone who needs the toilet a fair amount 😭 I’m beginning to worry hahaha

Any experience appreciated

Satnav has thrown me right off 💀🥲

So I’m … 15? Hours in, maybe? Ish? 😂
And we’ve gone through the syllabus and yesterday was my first day of satnav led driving which was hell. I feel I’d just about got to grips with driving a car & everything that entails in that and now I have to also focus partially on a small black box that spouts up every so often. I am struggling. I ended up spending the evening in tears last night because I feel like I’d taken 5 steps forward with my driving and now I’m back to square one.
I’m also driving way too slow in town settings. We have a lot of very windy, narrow roads and a lot of roads where people line parked up on the road, and then don’t even get my started on the potholes.
I admittedly was going way too slow yesterday but I’m struggling with getting up to speed limits (usually 20mph) in these road conditions. I’m not saying it’s not possible & im not saying I won’t do it, but right now with my level of confidence and now a satnav to concentrate on also… I’d rather be overly cautious than bang into someone’s BMW because I’m forcing myself to wind in and out, whilst missing potholes and anticipating what’s round blind corners.

I’m stressed. 😭

What travel insurance are people getting that covers the Ha Giang Loop etc?

I’ve been looking into different travel insurance quotes, but I’m not sure if they cover adventure activities like the Ha Giang Loop.
I have been leaning toward Big Cat as It does. It’s quoting me £258 though..
So just wondering what everyone else was thinking?

Vietnam itinerary. My ADHD brain is making it hard for me to comprehend how to do it 😂

I intend to fly into Hanoi and work my way down, and I have plenty of time & am in no rush. I intend to be in Vietnam approx a month. Something like this….

Hanoi for one week (jet lag always kills me so nice and chill)
Ha giang loop (2 nights 3 days loop)
Back to Hanoi for 2 nights to decompress.
Then go to Ha long bay for 1 or 2 nights to do a cruise.
Hanoi to Ninh binh for 4 nights
Ninh binh to da nang via the overnight lotus train.
Da nang to Hoi An
Hoi An to HCMC for 4 nights

And then I’m furthering on to Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

Does this route sound okay? Am I spending enough time in the places, or would you recommend more time / less time in some?

Thanks for any help. My brain is becoming mushy

Can anyone give me feedback on how their lessons are laid out each week?

I’m just wondering. I’m on approx lesson 12? Or 13? And each week we go over something different, going through I guess almost a tick list that changes weekly. But this means that I did the pull up on the right and reverse manoeuvre WEEKS ago & haven’t practiced it since and so I’m still obviously not going to be any good when I do it again?
Everything I’ve been shown I’ve done once and then gone onto do something completely different the next week. Is this how everyone does it?
I feel like I’m overwhelmed and also not making much progress

Planning my first trip to Vietnam, solo. How does my route sound?

So I plan to go to Vietnam the beginning of next year & had a route as follows:

London - Hanoi - Ha long bay & then back to Hanoi

Hanoi - Da Nang via the lotus train (I love trains so this is an amazing experience for me)

Da Nang - Hoi An

Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh

Ho Chi Minh - I’ll then be leaving to go to my next country

How does this sound? Am I missing anything special? Is this route awful? 🤣
Any help appreciated

I’ve started some local bakes boxes. This was my first set of orders 🥰

It’s been such a fun experience. I feel like I’ve found something I really enjoy, that others can enjoy too!
As someone who’s really struggled with finding their way, keeping on top of the plethora of responsibilities & pressure put on us as adults to succeed I ended up an addict & spent ages 12-29 in a never ending he’ll cycle. I’m now over a year & a half sober and getting to enjoy my 30s (I’m 31) the way I think I should have spent my 20s.. discovering who I am, what I love & what I’m good at. And I’m so pleased at how I’m putting myself out there ✨
If anyone reading this is struggling.. with their mental health, addiction, loneliness, stress, burn out, unworthiness just know that things can change. You can do just one thing at a time & it may feel slow but at some point you’ll turn around and see the progress. I truly believe perseverance is a persons strongest attribute 💛

Every Sunday I cook brunch for my foster parents & then we play dominoes 🥰

It’s a wee tradition. Especially now they’re in their later years..

My older brother is severely depressed. I’m trying to help but struggling!

A bit of context & back story.

I’m 31, my brother turns 37 in September. We had a really turbulent, abusive & neglectful childhood and spent time in foster care through out. Both of our biological parents are now dead, we kept in contact with our mother but not our father!

We both have addiction issues, he more drugs than alcohol and me more alcohol than drugs and I think we’ve in some way bonded over attempting to .. survive I guess.
We’re very, very different in our dealings with life, he is very emotional and struggles with the past, he struggles with his memories & feelings of unworthiness and I guess just trying to survive.

I have had him see a doctor regularly and he was put on sertraline but it didn’t massively agree with him so just this past week he’s been put on citalopram. But he’s so down, he’s going to quit his new job as he feels so anxious to even go in, he keeps saying hes at the end of his rope and just can’t keep going on.

I’m running out of words of wisdom, or encouragement. I don’t have any more tools in my own box to try and make him feel better.

Any help or tips?

What’s the reason elvanse lasts all day for some, and a mere few hours for others?

I’ve been on elvanse since.. January? And I’m now onto 40mg moving up to 50mg shortly & my clinician has added 5mg (I think) of dexamphetamine as the elvanse just does not last all day for me, at all.

Like this morning, took it at 7:57am.. it kicked in, I got some work done with much more push & productivity. Had clients in all morning & moving through is obviously smoother. However 12:30 comes around and it’s like my brain has used up all the juice and I’m knackered, quiet. Not moody, just quiet and more introspective again. It’s like the switch is off again.

What’s the reasoning some people get effects all day (as it is meant to last like 8-12 hours I hear), and others get a few hours and it tapers off?

I used to take hard drugs (I’m clean 7 years) and the wirey feeling very much similar to when I’d been up for days on end seshing 😅

Lemon curd & white chocolate squares 😮‍💨

These went down an absolute treat. The lemon curd doesn’t set though so I haven’t yet figured out how to make them without them being quite sticky, it’s a work in progress but worth it 🤭
