I ended a 6-month situationship with someone I still miss

I’ve been in a situationship with this guy for around six months. In the beginning, it was genuinely really nice. We talked a lot, stayed up talking, sent each other coupley coupley reels and I genuinely felt like I had someone who was there for me.
He had always been honest that he didn’t want a relationship because he told he needs to heal from his previous relationship and needed space. I knew that, and I wasn’t doing things for him because I thought eventually he’d magically choose me. I did them because I genuinely liked him and that’s how I show up for people who matter to me.

Over time, though, I started feeling a distance. He wasn’t as enthusiastic or communicative as he used to be, and I found myself constantly analyzing his texts and wondering what he was thinking.

Then his ex came back into the picture. He unblocked her, they followed each other again, and he wanted to talk to her because they had been important to each other for years. I was actually there when he spoke to her, and afterwards he took pictures with her. I know technically I wasn’t his girlfriend, but it still hurt, especially because of how differently he’d spoken about her before.

I had also been planning his birthday and had ordered him a gift. Not because I thought it would make him choose me, but because I genuinely wanted to make his birthday meaningful.

Eventually he told me that he felt I was getting very attached and that it scared him, and that he was sure he didn’t want to date anyone for a long time.
That made me realize something about myself too: I can’t do this casually. I get emotionally attached, and staying in something undefined while hoping it might eventually become more was going to hurt me.
So I ended it.
He told me I wasn’t the problem, that I was one of the best people he’d met, that I had everything he looked for in someone, and that it felt like the right person, wrong time.

I cried a lot, but I also felt relieved because I didn’t have to constantly analyze everything anymore.
We tried talking normally afterwards, but I realized I couldn’t just become friends with someone I still liked that much. Every half-conversation made me feel like I was getting pulled back into the same cycle of needing him, waiting for his texts and wondering why he wasn’t talking to me like before.

So I told him I think we need to take a proper break because I need to get out of this constant loop of needing him.
He understood and respected it.
I’ve now deactivated Instagram and uninstalled snap too because I know I need the distance.
I still love him. I still miss him. Part of me still wishes this could have worked.
But I also know I can’t spend my life waiting for someone to eventually choose me.

Did I do the right thing by walking away, even though a part of me still wants him back?

Just finished The Middle and I’m genuinely emotional 😭

This show became such a comfort show for me. I got so attached to the Heck family and somehow watching them everyday felt so warm and familiar.
I already want to restart it from episode 1 just so I can have it all over again 😤🥹

[19F] Am I wasting my time waiting for someone who’s not ready, or am I overthinking everything?

I (19F) have been talking to this guy (21M) for around 4 months. We were never officially dating, but we got really close. We used to text until 4-5 a.m., he’d remember tiny details about me, listen to all my voice notes, tell me he missed me, pick me up from college, ask me to share my live location while travelling, and open up to me about things he’d never told anyone. He also told me he liked me and was scared he’d fall for me.
The problem is that he has repeatedly said he isn’t ready for a relationship because of what happened with his ex. He says he’s scared of hurting me and doesn’t want to promise me something he can’t give.
Recently we met, spent the day together, and made out. Afterwards everything still felt comfortable, we just lay there talking and watching reels, and I genuinely felt safe with him.
The problem is what happened after.
I’ve slowly realized my entire day revolves around him. I constantly wait for his texts, overanalyze short replies, get anxious when he leaves me on sent, and keep wondering whether he actually likes me or if I’m just another girl in his life. It got so bad that I cried for hours yesterday because I decided I needed to move on for my own mental health.
Then today he texted me saying:
“I know we’re not dating, but when you talk about other guys or people trying to set you up, it kind of hurts me. It’s fine if you want to do that, just don’t tell me.”
Now I’m confused all over again.
He says he isn’t ready for a relationship, but he admits hearing about other guys hurts him.
I know I love him a lot more than he loves me (or at least that’s how it feels), and I honestly don’t want to spend months waiting and hoping he’ll eventually become ready but i don’t wanna lose him either.

WHAT DO I DO 😭

need birthday gift ideas 🥹

i am looking for birthday gifts ideas for someone i really really like, we are not dating so i don’t want anything overly romantic but to be thoughtful.

Some things he loves:
Gaming
Pokémon
Music
Food (he’s definitely a foodie)
Perfumes/fragrances
The Office (his favorite TV show)
Marvel
Batman
Miyoo flip (other similar things)
Green (his favorite color)

My budget is around 3k (can stretch a little if it’s worth it) I’d also like to include something handmade, so I don’t want to gift just one thing. I’m hoping to put together a gift box with a combination of smaller gifts that reflect his interests.

please drop your suggestions 🥹
