How many times do you limit yourself a year to working at a "preferred venue"?
Don't get me wrong, I am super thankful for a lot of places I work at, and I am about to enter my 100th time at a venue that has been very good to me but the clients I am getting there just aren't it anymore. I love the staff and I love the venue but I am considering only taking a select number there a year from now on, have others dealt with something like this before and if so how many weddings do you take a year at a similar venue?
Any recommendations for like a really solid cleaning service?
We have used one for a few years and to be honest service has gone down hill. Ideally we are looking a quarterly cleaning with one super deep clean once a year, TIA!
Fellow lactose homies, what is your go to protein powder?
Thorne was my go to for years and really loved it. They unfortunately don’t make their vegan pea protein anymore and have been striking out on anything that can replace it. Some I find make me too bulky and others just don’t fill me up, any recommendations are appreciated!
Even us vets make stupid mistakes, it's ok. Accept the L, do what you need to, and move on.
We had a wedding about 3 weeks ago where the couple wanted to all the photos in the South End out here in Boston, anyone who also works here knows the beautiful charm of the brown stone buildings. It was a pretty sunny day, found a bit of shade, but completely forgot brick makes everything red. I've spent possibly 4 8 hour days fixing a very spray tanned couple and their very Irish families in front of bricks for separation. I knew better than to do that, but hey we all make mistakes even 20 years in.
Is it just me or is this a weird year/people making things way more complicated than a day needs to be?
This month I have had 4 weddings thus far with just weird scheduling/planners overcomplicating very simple things. From overstepping the couples request of doing all extend family photos before the ceremony/couples being over cautious with choosing a first look location where guests won't be but 45 min away/to couples insisting on getting ready locations an hour away from the venue but renting only 1 party bus to make the rounds and refusing to talk about the possibility of traffic, just seems like its an overall weird vibe year.
Anyone else just leaving meetings being like "oh there is such a simpler way to do this"?
Strange question but favorite Pork/Chicken Katsu?
Been in the mood for some katsu and admittedly disappointed with the place near me (Maki Maki Woburn, and yes I know Woburn isn't proper north shore). Willing to drive for some good Katsu though!
Mantzoukas's summer song recommendation is fantastic and I desperately need him to break his social media stance to at least make a live Spotify Playlist
These recommendations are fantastic from the last Mini Episode, I know he's a very private person but jesus it's banger after banger. If there was a way to reach him to just say "hey man, maybe once a month can you make something off vibes that would be cool".

Over/Under of that the tattoo will be?
My guess he says “surprise me” and it’s Perna with the King Of Jizz face
Had some charcoal left after dinner, it’s a nice night so made some s’mores. Joe s’mores, I highly recommend
A friendly reminder that a wedding is way more than content, photos of the couple, but this is sometimes the last time families will be together in one place before something big happens.
So today is definitely a first in 20 years...... I am working on a gallery from less than 2 weeks ago when I get a call from the groom asking if I could rush some photos. One of his best friends from the wedding passed away unexpectedly, I say I am so sorry and I am rushing 5 photo to get to him by end of day.
Shortly after that I get a call from a bride from the wedding the next day, they had to say goodbye to their dog who passed unexpectedly this morning. Again, I am rushing photos of their very good girl so they can have them.
We go on so much about "what we need to do to stay relevant" or anything super social media related that at the end of the day I feel we loose perspective of what a wedding really is. A place to gather with loved ones and a couple trusts us to document it, I guess what I am saying is always try to grab as many photos of guests laughing, crying, dancing, singing because we may never use that for our portfolio but your couples are going to be so happy they have these memories incase anything happens.

youtube.comSocial Worker wants us to offer friends/neighbors free baby sitting to get more exposure to kids
Hi all! My wife and I just had our final home study meeting yesterday, it went super well but she was a little concerned because while we do have relationships with our families kids, she want's us to have a bit more exposure especially since we are looking at the 4-10 age range. She suggested that we contact our friends and offer some baby sitting, saying "oh the parents will love it" but honestly I don't know how to approach this without coming off like some sort of creep.
Most of our friends know we are in this process but honestly haven't spent too much time with their kids. Did anyone else go through something like this?
Modern updates
I had this 60+ year old Craftsman 100 table saw with a burnt out motor sitting around so I replaced the motor with a beefier one from Grainger and decided to build a new roll cart for it. I’m most proud of the dust chute which seems to work really well. After my initial construction I removed and remade the triangle supports to be even. I added some storage space around the saw and a protected “power box” to keep cords clean. I’m going to add a folding router table to the sides soon and stick a vice on one the legs. Should be some additional features coming as well. Thanks for checking it out! I’ll add additional pictures in the comments since I can’t seem to add both video and photo to the post.
Long time lurker, first time poster. A very good burger accompanied by a mezcal negroni from Alden and Harlow in Cambridge MA
First time poster! Just picked up a bunch of pepper plants (ghost, carolina, habanero, ect). My wife is holding off on planting her tomatoes because its going to be in the 90's the next few days so should I wait to plant mine as well or am I good to go?
reddit.comHad a great engagement session and didn't catch that the soon to be grooms fly was down. Spending the full day helping out the homie, thank god for generative fill.
