I have decided to go to Cashmere instead of Manali on my upcoming holiday in Asia so long as it isn't too late to book everything required for three days of skiing in Gulmarg on those days (other than clothing and boot rental). Are wide rental skis for skiing powder and guiding services already sold out at that time? Also, is it worth looking into ski touring equipment at all considering I don't have the right boots for dynafit bindings and will only have the fitness for short uphill sections? If everything's sold out I can still change my plans back to Manali as I had to book a flexible flight ticket out for baggage allowance reasons anyway.

I am planning to arrive in Chandigarh on a sleeper train the morning of January 2nd and continue by bus to Manali, and return to Chandigarh before 6PM on January 6th, but looking at online booking sites all of the buses run super early in the morning. Are there really no buses in the afternoon or do the companies that run them just not take bookings this far in advance? If it's the latter, when does booking open, and are they likely enough to sell out within minutes of going on sale that I should modify my itinerary to be safe?

I would like to visit either Manali (preferrably) or Shimla (second choice) for about three days around late December/early January and am wondering what the weather is usually like in the Himalayas at that time. If there is a high chance that Manali will be overcast the entire time, I will likely do a shorter trip to Shimla as I won't have to spend ages on a bus just to not see anything.

Is this itinerary too ambitious? If so I can add more days in any destination before Thailand; if not I can add another different destination before Koh Phangan, maybe Krabi as I went there last year on my first solo trip but was unable to do all I wanted due to getting the coronavirus. Also, skipping Kuala Lumpur so that the trip starts and ends elsewhere isn't an option as my father's employer is paying for flights.

I know from experience that the Cinnamon Sparrow can be bought in pet shops in Hong Kong, but has anybody here heard of any being kept as pets among Asian immigrant communities in the USA, especially in New York City? The reason I am asking is that I have found a mysterious bird sighting from 2022 near New York City in an online database that is a visual perfect match for the Cinnamon Sparrow, but it is virtually impossible that one would have come all the way from Asia on its own, and knowing whether it is known in the pet trade could assist in final identification.

"Cat" is a word borrowed from Nubish, as that is whence came the housecat, even though alike deer have lived in Europe (inholding Britain) for a long time. What could we chell "cats" in Anglish? The websteads I wonly go to to find words yive me nothing.

Following on from my earlier writ about Nordmannish words, what are some oft-noted words in English that come from other Germankinly tungs like Dutch or German, and therefore might misleadingly soam like inborn words even to someone who is good at spotting French words?

I just noticed this on my last trip to the supermarket (in the US); the four cheese stuffed crust pizza and pepperoni stuffed crust pizza both say that they're made in Canada in the fine print but the latter displays it prominently on the front of the box too. Since I assume pizzas made in Canada don't carry any extra prestige over domestic ones, are they required to put clear labeling on the box of meat pizzas under some sort of agricultural law?

Whilst many words from Norman French either fully edstew the lutter English word, like "use" instead of "note", or bestand in a sundry stale alongside the ordly word like "freedom" and "liberty", there soothly must have been others that trucked to edstow the inborn word and are no longer noted. Does anybody know of any?
