Please help: I’ve lost my menstrual cup of many years and I can’t remember its brand

Hi friends

I’ve lost the menstrual cup I’ve been using for the last six or seven years. It’s been so long that I can’t remember where I got it or which brand, but it took me quite a few tries to find the one that worked for me so I’d like to get the exact same one if possible.

All I know is that it was *shiny* and actually clear (not matte clear like the Divacup and many others), was midway between a fat cloche-like shape and a thinner flute shape, and was pretty firm compared to most cups. It had two or three grip rings at the bottom.

I’d cut off most of the stem early on, so I can’t remember what it was originally, but there definitely was a stem because I left about a 2 cm stub. The inside of the stem is hollow.

Any suggestions for what it might have been would be greatly appreciated! If I see it I’ll recognize it. Thanks!

Please help quick! Do I tip the hotel receptionist who did me a huge favor, or would that be rude?

I’m in Aix and really needed to do laundry, but the hotel didn’t have a guest laundromat, and the nearest laundromat is very far away. So the hotel receptionist offered to do my laundry for me in their hotel washing machine. (Honestly so nice of her I almost cried.)

I’m picking up my clothes in an hour. So, I have an hour to figure out, do I bring her like a five euro tip when I go down? Would that be appreciated, or would that be considered rude? I’m American and in American culture I’d definitely bring them a tip, but I don’t want it to seem like I’m making her kindness transactional please help!!

Flight was changed so now I have a 20 hour daytime layover at Hamad + lounge question

EDIT: for those in my position in future: i arrived at 4:30am ish and went to the transit desk to explain the situation. You’re supposed to request the transit hotel in 72 hours in advance, but I just didn’t have the wherewithaIl to even realize I had this layover until en route to the airport.

Anyway, fortunately, I guess since it’s for the daytime and I got there so early, transit desk lady very quickly booked me a fairly nice commercial hotel in west bay. It was in the city though so it was at least a 20 min drive.

After immigration and baggage claim, I went to the arrivals info desk, where the lady contacted the hotel transport (in a nice car 😃)and also gave me some options for sightseeing after sunset. Since I’ve always wanted to see the mosques here and the temp looks more like 38 at that time today, I decided an outing would be worth to it after all.

This is the most looked-after I’ve been when flying business with any airline, which I guess isn’t a surprise for those of you who fly Qatar often, but this is only my second time flying with them.

.

.

If it were some other time of year, I’d be so down to take a trip into the city and explore, but 43 degrees outside? I am not brave enough for that.

So, any ideas for things to do in the airport? I’ve had a layover there before and heard there were all sorts of fun and interesting things like a garden, but I never ended up finding them last time. Do I have to go to a specific terminal?

Also, I’m flying business and saw a YouTuber’s video where he showed himself checking into a sleeping room in a Qatar airways business lounge. But last time I was there, my lounge didn’t have these rooms, only a rest area with pods? There are multiple business lounges right? Which one has the sleeping rooms?

Male audience of the new Spiderman movie reminding me why I stay single

If he’s not Peter Parker then I don’t want him. Apparently only superheroes behave like decent humans these days.

Anyone else seen the new Spider-Man movie and also found the Asian depiction problematic?

I’ve watched this movie three times now and liked it tremendously. This is in no way a hater post. But the very small depiction of Asians in this movie really bothered me, and more and more so with each rewatch. If you’ve also seen it, I’d love to hear your thoughts—or whether you even noticed anything amiss. Maybe I’m just being overly sensitive.

Spoilers below:

>!>!Basically, I found the use of the red-robed ninja squad to be quite problematic. They never say anything comprehensible and none of them have any personality or even visible faces. All they do is a stereotypical bow at the start.!<!<

>!>!But in Peter’s ultimate climactic fight at the end, they are doing the actual fighting, even though the conflict is actually one between Peter and Jean. They are nothing more or less than tools or puppets—faceless, voiceless, nameless automatons, literally and figuratively, used by the two white main characters to work out their issues.!<!<

>!>!And that just sat really poorly with me. If you’re not going to have any Asian representation outside of Ned, fine, whatever, it’s not a huge deal. I’m not watching these movies for a brave take on Asian American identity. But if you’re going to add them in, maybe give them actual personalities? Maybe don’t make the only Asian characters literal puppets? Maybe don’t play into every Asian stereotype that’s dogged us in media for decades?!<!<

Again, maybe I’ve gotten into my head about this, so I’d love to hear everyone else’ thoughts. This movie has gotten overwhelmingly good reviews so far, and based on my own enjoyment, I don’t doubt it’s going to be one of the biggest movies— if not the biggest movie—of 2026. And this is how Asian people are going to be depicted. It’s like nothing has changed.

It’s honestly just disappointing and sad. Anyway lmk your thoughts

Eat white slurry for years or risk coma?

Sorry if this is a stupid would you rather, but basically, if you were in Grace’s position on the return journey and things didn’t go pear shaped with the Taumoeba, would you have endured years of eating aspirin-tasting slurry for your daily meal? Or would you have said fuck the risks I’m going back into a coma?

Because I would choose the coma in a heartbeat. Maybe I just don’t have the survival instincts that Grace does, but it wouldn’t even be a decision for me since I’d want to off myself pretty quickly if aspirin-tasting slurry was all I could eat for years. I’d send the beetles off in case something happens when I’m under, and I’m putting myself into that coma immediately. If I die I die.

Thoughts?

Second chance, enemies to lovers retelling of Much Ado About Nothing? Does this exist? (Preferably historical)

I imagine it would be some kind of rom com. Historical preferred, though obvs doesn’t haven’t to be set in Renaissance Italy. Doesn’t haven’t to stick too closely to the Shakespeare I just like the personalities :D

Why is my bag wrinkling like this and what can I do to keep it from getting worse?

Does it just need moisturizer? What kind of moisturizer—like an oil or a cream? Any specific suggestions?

Or is it just a sign the leather is not good quality?

I don’t really mind the look of it, but I wouldn’t want it to crack. Thanks!

Regular sheet mask left this indent across my cheeks

I did a regular sheet mask for about 15 min, and when I took it off there was this indent line all the way across my cheekbones. The kind you get when you sleep on your pillow weird and you wake up with impressions of your pillowcase creases on your face, but in straight line form.

I’m not concerned in the slightest—they’ll go away soon enough—but I am incredibly confused. It was just as sheet mask—and a sheet mask I’ve used multiple times before. The edge wasn’t anywhere close to my cheekbones bones. How on earth did this line get there?? Any ideas?

Btw I was picking at my skin before the mask (lol I know I know don’t chastise me), so that’s why it’s red and bumpy, not because of the sheet mask.

Best transcription app/program that allows me to upload audio files and has a custom dictionary?

I’ve been digging through old Reddit posts on transcription apps all evening, but everything I’ve seen so far doesn’t fit one of my requirements, so hopefully I can get suggestions I haven’t tried yet.

I basically need an app or website that lets me to upload voice memos I’ve recorded offline, because I do my dictating outside where the Internet is unreliable. I also need a dictionary feature since I have a whole bunch of names, places, and portmanteau words for my novel, so going in to clean them up after the fact would take too long and defeat the purpose of dictating.

And I need some sort of unlimited tier—like 10 hours a month isn’t really going to work since I speak quite slow and dictate a lot.

Somehow nothing I’ve found fits my requirements and actually works. Superwhisper can supposedly do everything I need, but it crashes any time I try to upload an audio file and then today when I was dictating offline it lost a 20 min recording. So no good.

Apps I’ve tried and could not make work for various reasons:

-wispr flow

-vomo

-otter

-bookscribe

-prisma scribe

-turboscribe

-sonix

-soniox

-and honestly a whole bunch of others that I can’t even remember

Anyway if you’ve been able to find one that works for you and has all these features please please drop the name. Cost is not really an issue, but I’d prefer not to be paying like $80 a month for 40 hours or something minuscule you know?

Thanks!

Jinhao 82 in Berry Guava Fig—or, the prettiest pen I’ve ever seen

If any of you saw my post about my Jinhao 80 yesterday and wondered why I cared so much about whether I could make the nib better, this is why. I want to use this pen forever and ever for everything.

Luckily, I dip tested it earlier and it seems to feather a lot less than the Jinhao 80–definitely feels really nice to write with and the lines pretty. Maybe I’ll do a sample again when my other Jinhao 82 arrives and I’ll see if any of my inks are considered “drier” so I can test them together. I don’t love writing with this but I like it well enough, so that’s a win. Hopefully with a drier ink I will be upgraded from like to love fingers crossed

Anyway, this was ¥33 on Taobao which is less than $5 USD. One of the better $5 I’ve spent in my life I think.

Sorting old notes and found this copy page

Can’t remember what pen or ink or even what passage this is. I may never be able to reproduce it lol so of course this is one of my better looking samplers.

Do some nibs just cause feathering while others don’t? Is it a sign of a bad nib? Is there anything I can do to make the nib feather less?

These are both written with Pilot Shinkiori ink on, evidently, not great quality Five Star lined paper. The top was written with a Jinhao 80 and the bottom with a Platinum 3776. The Jinhao nib is supposedly 0.3mm and the 3776 is their UEF nib (unsure about numbers), but presumably they’re the same-ish size.

But as you see, the Jinhao has spread and feathered significantly while the 3776 has not. The picture honestly doesn’t quite capture the extent of the feathering. Same paper same ink, so what gives? Is the Jinhao just a bad quality nib? Obviously on better paper neither of these bleed or feather, but I’d like to know why the Jinhao is doing this, and whether there’s anything I can do to the nob to fix it.

(Yes I realize the order the pens are laid out doesn’t match the order of the sentence samples oops 😬)

Reading Voyager again for the first time in years and jfc was Mr Willoughby always this offensive?

I’m Chinese. I don’t remember being offended last time I read Voyager, but I’m like halfway through Mr Willoughby’s first appearance and I don’t think I can continue. It’s truly so distracting and terribly offensive on so many levels. Did I just forget last time? Or like is something just different with me now?

Thoughts?

Edit; Holy Jesus on toast, so I decided to keep reading and just skip over the offending scenes, but then this line came out of nowhere: “A large mule-drawn wagon appeared… driven by Fergus and a diminutive objective that could only be Mr Willoughby”.

Diana why are you doing this to me 😭💀😭💀
