I (26M) am very happy with my girlfriend (24F), but her family dynamics concern me. What can I do?

Context:

I met her on hinge 1.5 years ago. Things have been great for the most part since. We have our ups and downs but overall I do see myself wanting to be with her. The only concern I have is her family.

Both of her parents are great people, financially stable, very sweet, very kind people. I'm fairly close with her mom. My gf has a younger brother who is 22, and an older sister who is 27. Both of them are drug addicts, though the little brother is mostly just a weed person. They both have been diagnosed with BPD (I think), though the mom told me she thinks both of her kids are on the spectrum. Currently the little brother lives alone in a studio which the parents pay for, and the older sister lives with her parents at the moment.

The little brother/older sister have a very toxic relationship. We went on a family trip a few months ago to see my girlfriend's family outside the country, and almost every day they would be talking shit to each other, and then smoke weed together. Whatever. Me and my girl couldn't take as many days off, so we got back home earlier, but the parents came home after the siblings. We got asked to pick them up at the airport. I forgot how the argument escalated, but they almost immediately started talking shit. At one point, the older sister started crying and then hitting her head on the passenger seat. I was driving on the highway, left side, and she tried to get out. Thankfully the car is childlocked, but it was traumatic. All of the siblings were chaotic and it was just a lot for me.

My girlfriend told me to not tell her mom what happened. According to her, this happens all the time, and that she just seeks for attention. I told her I'd wait for her parents to come back from vacation, but at some point I will tell her. She told me to tell her mom to tell her she told me not to say anything, which I did. The mom was very calm with me, she was telling me about the struggles, the mental health issues, family dynamic issues, etc. I brought up maybe family therapy, and she said maybe if everyone calms down first, but the way everyone is so hectic and emotional, family therapy would go nowhere. I respected it and that was that.

My girlfriend was pissed at me saying I crossed a line. She said I ruined her night because her mom was mad at her, and her dad was mad at her for "telling" her that. Said I was trying to be like Doctor Phil when all I need to do is just be there for her. I get where she was coming from, but damn the moment the older sis tried getting out of the car while I was driving, I felt involved. It's not like I was telling the mom things that my gf confided in me, this was stuff that was happening to me.

This wasn't the first time I got involved with those siblings. Another time the little brother texted me cursing me out when he was having an episode. My gf and her mom were aware of it, and he did apologize and hasn't messed with me since. My girl said that's just how her little brother is, and that nothing is going to change.

I don't expect things to miraculously change, but I'm not sure what to do, or how I'm expected to handle things, especially when they affect me. My gf is close with her parents, and while my gf tries to put boundaries with her siblings, she cares/loves for them deeply so she'll always be pretty close to them. We celebrate things like Mother's day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. For the most part, those events are ok. I don't want to seem judging on their family, for my parents are split and I have no siblings. Not sure what is normal in these kinds of situations. What can I do?

Most of the Z Fighters in the Android saga get destroyed by Frieza. I'm tired of the agenda that somehow Krillin/Yamcha > Frieza

I've seen this image over and over again completely misinterpreted. Whenever I see someone post it, they're saying that Piccolo is being explicitly clear that if a fighter is not stronger than 100%/FP Frieza, they shouldn't bother coming.

https://preview.redd.it/2s9opupsmdkh1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=246cee9c4656bc8ad7a42a4a5a1380ed2f6e048e

All Piccolo is saying here is if you don't have the confidence to be useful, then don't come. Nothing about someone needing to be a certain power level.

In this same arc, we see Tien referencing Trunks being able to beat Frieza easily

https://preview.redd.it/ik532jc9ndkh1.png?width=1284&format=png&auto=webp&s=fde912a840cb513aafa36ecb9ae88307c62b788e

He did mention "without a sweat" but are you seriously telling me that the Base Saiyans in this saga are weaker than the humans?

More proof:

Vegeta being shook that the Kais were strong enough to one-shot Frieza. Frieza's power level was still a respectable power in the Buu saga.

In the manga, Goku used SSJ to beat Frieza in his mental training. Furthermore, Beerus said he can't imagine Base Goku beating Frieza, and Goku and King Kai don't say anything to refute it.

My iphone 13 pro max is likely a toaster. thug it out until next month or buy iphone 17 pro max?

I cant make calls, cant connect to data. Its fully up to date. Ill go get it checked out by the apple store, but i dont want to pay lots of money to keep an old phone. At the same time, a new iphone is coming out next month...I could potentially last a month basically without a phone, but thats not fun. Should i just get the 17 pro max?

Cellular issue - am I cooked?

I’ve had this phone since release date. I can’t connect to my 5g data for some reason. I can sort of connect to WiFi, but even that’s a drag. I tried downloading iOS 26.6 but it just keeps getting stuck at “Verifying update”. My phone battery is at 75% too, ugh. Can my phone be fixed?

▲ 7 r/HSA

What would you invest in your HSA if you had unlimited options?

I have HSA bank, but it looks like they’re giving me the option to pick any stock or fund that I want. I’m 26, in my Roth I have 70% VTI/30% VXUS, in my 401k I have 56% in VFIAX, 30% in Fidelity international, 9% in vanguard small cap and 5% in vanguard mid cap.

I was thinking maybe in my HSA I could be a bit more aggressive than what I’m doing rn of just basically doing 100% VT. I am healthy and I don’t plan on pulling out of my HSA until I’m 65, so maybe I should do different funds? What do you think

How is this plan for 2027

Hey everybody, I got in a car accident a few years ago, and finally it paid off when I got about ~55k take home. Thankfully my injuries were not too bad, but yeah.

I don't think I'll be able to retire at 45 or 50 :/ Id love to though, however, I still take my retirement pretty seriously. I am 25 almost 26.

Right now in my 401k I have about 6.7k, some of it coming from my employer as they match 50% up until 6k. I've been here for 1 year, I need to stay for 2 more years for it to fully vest or I lose everything.

I have about 15.8k in my Roth IRA as I maxed out both 2025 and 2026. I currently have about 70/30 in VTI and VXUS. I have a little under $900 in my HSA and I put $50 a paycheck. After I have $1000 balance I can start investing.

I have about 48.4k leftover after I maxed out 2026.

I have a condo which I pay about $1800 a month after mortgage/hoa/utilities etc. I have about 28k in student loans but the interest rate is crazy low so I'll continue making minimum payments on it. No car note. My yearly salary with bonus is about 72-73k~ and I can expect at least a 3% raise at my job from what I've heard.

I would like to keep 15,000 in my HYSA at the bare minimum at all times, but the rest of the money I'd like to do something with it. I was thinking, maybe at the start of 2027, I max out my Roth IRA, HSA, and front load my 401k? I'd be maxed out by June, then I have full paychecks again and my retirement would be pretty stacked. I'd save a lot on taxes for the year after, and me getting full paychecks later that year would allow me to replenish my savings.

Is this a smart idea?

Gogeta NEEDED to go SSB in order to beat FP Broly, I'm tired of people pretending otherwise

I'm not even a fan of Broly, or a hater of Gogeta persay, but the wanking is crazy. And the Goku/Vegeta downplay is crazy too.

In the movie, we see Broly and SSJ Gogeta have a scuffle, it looks like Gogeta gets a few good hits, but then we see Broly at the end get the better of the exchange. Gogeta immediately goes Blue.

The gap from SSJ to Blue is insane, at least a 320,000x multiplier. So it's crazy to me people think that Gogeta could've beaten Broly in SSJ2 or SSJ3.

In order to tank/no diff an opponent in DBZ, you need to be at least 2x stronger than them. The fact that SSB Gogeta still had to actively dodge Broly's attacks shows that they were around the same ballpark. Furthermore, Goku knows deep down that Broly is not a bad person, he does not want to kill him, just incapitate/get him to calm down. He only uses a FP Kamehameha when he realizes he has no other option. Even Gogeta going SSG would've gotten him killed.

One decent feat that supports my argument too, is that when Broly finally goes FP LSSJ against SSB Gogeta, he actually manages to block one kick from Gogeta. It seems like such a nothing feat considering he gets his ass kicked the rest of the fight, but it's pretty impressive since that's Gogeta's final form. Any other form would've lost.

UPDATE - Moms new IBR payment is extremely high

For reference, this was the previous thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/StudentLoans/comments/1tf69bo/moms_new_ibr_payment_is_extremely_high/

So my mom had called and they said the reason why they are giving her Old IBR is because she (I did) consolidated back in 2024. I did that to try and get her to SAVE, but in the middle of the consolidation, SAVE was shot down. I'm not sure what happened but her loans did not ever fully consolidate, as I had to consolidate them this year.

Aidvantage is her provider. It's difficult because English is not her first language, but I think she should have a valid appeal to be under New IBR. I reached out to FreeStudentLoanAdvice, but I was wondering if anyone had any ways to try to appeal this?

Anyone use Sapphire Reserve OpenTable credit + Mobile Checkout credit together successfully?

Gonna go to Momotaro soon and that place is an OpenTable restaurant to trigger the $150 credit, and also surprisingly Bilt has it as one of the restaurants for the monthly $25 dining credit.

Obviously, I'd rather get a $150 credit than a $25 credit, so I'm cool with just using my Reserve if that's what it comes down to, but if I can split the check so that I cover $25 with Bilt Cash, that would be fire. I haven't seen any threads on Reddit about this, so I'm wondering if anyone has tried this and if it's worked.

Moms new IBR payment is extremely high

I had her consolidate her parent plus loans to ICR which I made a one time monthly payment of 842. Her new IBR monthly is 811, I thought it would drop more because ICR is 20% and new IBR is 10%

I don’t get how her payment is so high when she is retired. My new IBR payment on my loans are 280 and I make almost as much as she did before she retired. She makes money off a rental, but she’s still paying a mortgage and her profits aren’t much

I bought whey protein from whey factory since it was on sale. $23 for 54 servings. Unfortunately, the manufactured date was 09/24. It smells ok…no mold or wetness around it. Would you guys consume it?
