I recently went a little crazy at Ajmal and ended up buying way more than I planned to. I’m someone who generally prefers heavier, gourmand, creamy, powdery fragrances over fresh or citrusy ones, so keep that in mind while reading my reviews.
These are just my personal opinions, and obviously everyone’s nose is different.
Oud on the Rocks
The first thing I bought was Oud on the Rocks, and this one completely surprised me.
The closest thing I could compare it to was if Sol de Janeiro was mixed with Bath & Body Works Marshmallow Fireside and Mahogany Teakwood. That’s genuinely the first thing that came to my mind when I smelled it. It has that same warm, cozy sweetness, but this is definitely the spicier version.
The funny part is that I actually bought this as a gift for someone, and halfway through I started thinking… did I basically buy another version of Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa for the same person? 😭
After looking into the notes, though, I don’t actually think they’re that similar. They both sit in that warm gourmand category, but they definitely smell different to me.
I personally loved this one.
Pearl
Pearl was honestly one of the reasons I even went to the store.
Years ago, a family member had gifted me a tiny tester, and I remembered absolutely loving it. I never knew what it was until recently when I found out it was Pearl.
The annoying part is that it isn’t available online (at least where I am), so I had to go to the physical store to get it.
I genuinely don’t know how to explain this fragrance.
It’s gourmand… but fruity.
It’s rich.
It’s indulgent.
It’s sweet without being childish.
I’ve honestly never smelled anything quite like it before.
The projection is amazing, the longevity is amazing, and it just smells so expensive to me. It keeps changing as it dries down, which made me love it even more.
Definitely one of my favourite purchases.
Raindrops
I bought Raindrops because literally everyone online kept calling it a dupe for Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.
I honestly don’t even remember if I’ve smelled Coco Mademoiselle before, so I can’t really compare them.
To my nose though…
This fragrance leaned much more unisex than I expected.
It smelled quite spicy and what I can only describe as “high frequency.” I know that probably sounds weird, but I personally like fragrances that feel deeper and smoother instead of sharp or bright.
That being said…
I don’t actually think it’s a bad perfume.
I’ve seen so much hate for Raindrops online, but I honestly understand why people like it.
If you just want something easy to throw on every day that smells clean, projects well and lasts for hours on clothes, I think this does that really well.
It’s just not my personal style.
I’ll probably end up gifting this one to someone because I know they’ll enjoy it more than I do.
Aurum Attar
This one is actually funny because I went to smell the perfume…
…and walked out buying the attar instead.
The dry down on my skin was honestly beautiful.
I originally wanted to gift this to a friend, but after wearing it I decided I was keeping it. 😭
This might offend some perfume lovers…
But it genuinely reminded me of YSL Libre Intense.
I even searched the notes afterwards because I was convinced there had to be some overlap.
There actually is one major difference—Libre Intense has that beautiful lavender note that Aurum doesn’t have.
They’re definitely not identical.
But somehow Aurum scratched that exact itch I’ve had for Libre Intense.
I can’t afford to spend that much on the YSL bottle right now, so this genuinely made me happy. It gave me that same luxurious feeling without spending designer perfume money.
Misk Baby Attar
This was probably the most expensive thing I bought from Ajmal.
I got the 20 ml attar, and honestly…
I cannot put this fragrance into words.
It’s soft.
It’s floral.
It’s powdery.
It’s slightly gourmand.
It’s feminine.
The dry down on my skin was absolutely beautiful.
I actually ended up gifting this one to one of my best friends because I immediately thought it suited her.
This is honestly the kind of fragrance that I think almost any woman would enjoy.
The only way I can describe it is…
This is what a very pretty, pink fairy would smell like.
I know that probably sounds ridiculous, but that’s literally the image that comes to my mind every time I smell it.
It’s just incredibly soft, feminine and comforting.
Sabah Al Noor Attar
This one isn’t in the picture because I’d already bought three 5 ml bottles separately.
I actually loved it.
It was just a little too mature for my own taste.
So I ended up gifting all three bottles away.
Everyone absolutely loved it.
It’s very feminine, very elegant, lasts forever and smells beautiful.
I just personally prefer sweeter, slightly younger-smelling fragrances.
Overall, I’m really happy with everything I bought. Even the fragrances that weren’t completely my style were still good fragrances—they just weren’t “me.”
If you’ve tried any of these, especially Pearl or Misk Baby, I’d love to know what you think because I genuinely don’t see enough people talking about them.
I came across a discussion on one of the Indian beauty/PCOS subreddits where someone was talking about switching to a 40:1 Myo-Inositol + D-Chiro Inositol supplement, and after going down the rabbit hole in the comments, I decided to give it a shot myself. I ended up switching from Suresitol to Simply Human Inositol, and honestly, I wish I had done it sooner.
My main reason for switching was the price and convenience. I was paying around ₹1,500 every month for 30 Suresitol sachets, and while they did the job, I absolutely hated the lemon taste. Taking it every day felt like a chore. Simply Human, on the other hand, costs only about ₹600, comes with around 100 servings, has the same 40:1 Myo-Inositol:D-Chiro Inositol ratio, and has absolutely no smell or taste. I can literally mix it into anything. I’ve been adding it to my daily protein coffee and can’t even tell it’s there.
I’ve only been taking it for about 5–6 days, so I’m not claiming it’s a miracle cure, but I’ve already noticed positive changes in my cycle and overall feel much more consistent because I’m actually taking it every day instead of dreading it.
Since I add it to my coffee every morning, I thought I’d share my PCOS-friendly protein coffee with all the PCOS girlies here. The whole thing is around 197 calories for a large 500 mL serving, completely sugar-free, and packed with protein. I use skim milk, a protein coffee sachet, sugar-free caramel syrup, instant coffee, and my inositol powder. It’s sweet enough to satisfy my coffee cravings without sending my blood sugar on a rollercoaster.
For some context, I was around 94 kg a couple of years ago and have managed to get down to around 82–84 kg. My weight fluctuates sometimes, but the things that have helped me the most have been staying in a calorie deficit, increasing my protein intake, taking my prescribed 1500 mg metformin, and using a 40:1 Myo-Inositol + D-Chiro Inositol supplement consistently.
PCOS is exhausting and there is so much expensive advice online, so I just wanted to share something that has genuinely been affordable, easy to stick to, and has fit seamlessly into my daily routine. Since a lot of you saw my lash serum post and wanted to buy it, even though I only had six pieces remaining in stock, I wanted to kind of cater to those who couldn’t get a chance to buy my lash serum because I have something even better and I believe it’s going to be a more useful product than a small 10 ML – serum
I wanted to get some honest opinions before I do something 😅
I used to run a small skincare page called D’Leila by Duha, where I made facial oils using cold-pressed, cosmetic-grade ingredients, gemstone jwellery etc. Because I’m wrapping it up now, I’m left with a few really good oils — almond oil, olive oil, rosehip oil, and rosemary essential oil.
I’ve been using a blend of these on my own hair recently, and it genuinely makes my hair feel so much softer, smoother, and shinier.
Instead of letting these oils sit unused, I was thinking of making a very small batch (10–15 bottles max) of a simple hair oil blend (100 ml each), just so everything gets used properly.
