Walls are open now to plan/setup for camera(s) and an outdoor plug on a covered porch.

I will have two walls open and I think they will provide great pots for outdoor poe cameras and outside power receptacles...most likely eufy platform cams since I have a kit with a home base cam(s) etc already and whatever outdoor/external box(es) and receptacle(s)

Seems to me just figure out where on the two outside walls i wanna come out pop holes and run cat 6 cables for the cams and the 12/2 Romex for the outlets

I have aluminum siding so I'll be adding some kind of duct seal/rubber plug to protect the cables.

Is basic cat 6 hooked to a poe switch/injector ok and just go direct to the mounts/cams?

For the outlets can I just run 12/2 Romex directly into the exterior boxes/receptacles? I plan to locate them so I won't need any kind of conduit runs to place them.

Increasing post height

When the fence was installed originally the posts and fence were done at a 4 ft height....I don't know why. The posts are very solid and in very good shape. The panels are typical pre-built panels and are in terrible shape.

I know there's a few methods such as cutting a notch into the old and new post and bolting or screwing them together.

I'm wondering what the best method aside from replacing the posts is.

While were on the subject what's the thoughts on prebuilt panels from says Lowe's? I think they are poorly made and for the cost I can get the materials to make my own rails and pickets and end up with a better more solid panel.

Plastic outdoor playbouse

Several years ago we took apart and sprayed a plastic playhouse for our oldest daughter. We did not seal it. It held up surprisingly well all things considered. She's outgrown it and her little sister wants it.

I have a pressure washer and a knockoff Wagner paint sprayer.

I play to take it apart pressure wash it and hit it with some kind of cleaning agent, vinegar, outdoor cleaner, mold remover, something like that and hit it with a degreaser.

I'll be honest I hate sanding and it's already a textury/somewhat rough and bumpy surface.

I don't wanna use spray cans. At 7 bucks or more per can I feel like I'd get a better result and possibly save some money by getting an oil based primer such as stix or kilz and exterior paint and then sealing it.

I think a quart of the primer would be plenty since it has to be mixed with mineral spirits to spray. I might be wrong on that.

Anyone have any suggestions?

It's alive

Previously posted about my 216 not filling the bag. Finally got u stubborn and flipped it over and yeah blades if you wanna call them blades were shot. Popped em off replaced with OEM blades. Took out almost two full bags of clippings in one mowing and you can tell it brought up a lot of old clippings and cut much more and much cleaner.

Don't be stubborn. It might be the blades. :)

Measurements/Properly lines using gis data

I've downloaded a non-certified copy of the deed to the property and I've gone on my county's gis portal. The boundary lines are pretty clear but I'm looking to see if there is a freeware software or online tool that would measure from say the corner of the house to the lines the gis data shows.

100 amp main breaker blew

Older square d qo load center blew the 100 amp main qo100mvh breaker the other night. Panel/service is from 1989if the sticker on the front is accurate.

I'm a home owner so admittedly my depth of knowledge isn't that deep.

Not my house. Friend's house. They claim they were just doing normal stuff and all the sudden no power. Noticed what looked similar to corrosion like you'd see on a battery terminal on one of the logs for coming in.

Definitely breaker it's been swapped out and everything is working normally. Just trying to figure out what to look at as the cause to avoid it happening again or if it just failed due to age.

Increasing fence height

We have 2 relatively small sections of fence we want to replace. Total 50 linear feet one section is 25 then it turns a corner and the other section is 15 ft with a 5 foot wide gate area. It's only 4 feet high currently. Due to new owners next door and other factors we want to increase it to 6 ft high..

. we'd like or go 8 but aren't allowed to per city ordinance.

The existing posts are in very good shape and don't need to be replaced however they are only only 4 ft high. Practically speaking I have a few ideas in mind how to make them taller and still look good.

Considering they are relatively short runs do I even need to make the posts higher? I plan to build my own panels using 3 2x4 pressure treated cross rails per 8 foot long section with 3/4x6x6 dog ear pickets because frankly I think premade panels with 2x3 cross rails and pickets are terrible.

HRN216 Clipping Direction Mulch/Bag Adjuster

I am so tired of replacing the damn plastic pieces and spring. The thing works fine until it just randomly decides to disappear never to be seen again.

Aside from just setting it to bag or mulch and leaving the knob off has anyone found a way to get the darn thing to stay on? The actual mechanical lever and all that work but every so often I look at it and yep gone again.

I already took away the deck height adjust knobs because they kept disappearing and aren't needed anyways.

I've tried to actuate the lever to change form bag to mulch without the spring and knob but it's a pain and won't stay in place without those stupid pieces.

HRN 216 Not Getting Clippings Into Bag

I think it may be time for new blades. Underside of deck is clean. I usually cut at a 2 or 2.5 front and back wheels. Blades are stock no signs of big nicks. Runs smooth nothing makes me think they are bent. Noticing some spots where even though I overlap pretty aggressive finer grass...more like weeds are still sticking up.

When I pull the bag there is next to nothing in it. Bulk of the clippings really almost all of them are blocking the chute. I make sure the chute is clean before I start.

Grass was dry noticed a good amount of clippings laying on the ground and the amount of clippings under the deck is much less than I'd expect based on yard size etc.

Anyone have any suggestions other than just change em out. They look good to me.

I'm not the guy on the block who goes out with scissors and chemicals and the lawn is more or less a mish mash of crab, weeds and some real grass mixed in.

I haven't examined the cut grass closely for signs of blunt force trauma versus surgical cuts.

Batteries

Can someone explain why DeWalt has so many different battery options power stack flex volt xr?

If I'm just using the hand tools what's wrong with just a straight 2ah or 4ah or whatever?

I know batteries are the lifeblood of the tool eco system but damn. I just wanna throw a battery in do the job and throw it back on a charger.

Is this a good deal?

Moving to DeWalt from Kobalt. My kobalt drill gave a final puff of smoke and is completely dead. I've always hated their jigsaw for a million reasons. Found a buy and get deal. 2 5ah batteries and a charger and I can get a hammer drill and a jigsaw for 300 bucks.

I'm leaning toward that combo since I already have a circular saw that works well along with impacts and a sawzall and a few other blue tools that are decent.

Obviously the plan is to eventually get rid of all of them but for now definitely need the drill, the jig saw I have is useless so I figure make that the second.

Is this good can I do better and if so when and where do I look?
