I am hoping that Mouri at the end of the series, knowing of what Conan/Shinichi did by using Mouri with the tranquilizer watch and voice changing bowtie, he will retire as a detective as he knows to himself that he is not worthy to be a detective and he will come back as a policeman instead and shows his amazing shooting skills like his Golden Prime before...and he will never be a drunkard useless father (he will still drink alcohol but for occasions only for celebrations). It's bitter sweet, yes, but he will be finally go back to his senses somehow and his life will be much better, but he will be in danger during his duties soon...
Maybe for nostalgia... Maybe it's because it's more bloodier and scarier that now... It is more scary because of the sketchiness of the traditional hand drawn animation with ink and color? I don't... I just don't know...
