Hard time cleaning

Having a hard time here... Gets done with 1 then 2 and then wants to "return". There is no dock on this floor it's my 2nd floor never was one. How do I get it to keep going? I emptied the dust bit manually to see if it would continue

Bring temps down in detached garage?

We have a 3 car detached garage that bakes in the sun all day long. Temps easily clear 120+. Was built circa 2016, has ridge and soffit vents along with a window. We have 2 electric cars that sit in the garage and can kick on their cooling fans from time to time.

Any ideas on bringing the temps down a little bit without putting a full blown AC and insulation? Garage door is insulated with a kit, right now Im adding a window fan controlled by a thermostat to keep airflow moving.

shield is still the best

Bought a Google TV streamer 4k because it was only $50, figured why not. Was to replace my original shield from 2015 that was doing fine.

Man, the OG shield is still better. The Google TV has bugs galore with audio and various apps. Locks up from time to time

From what I can tell you can't double tap home to bring up the app menu to close the app

Shield still ran smoother than the Google TV

The only thing the Google TV truly does better than my OG is the remote. You can ask Google to find the remote and it rings, which honestly is amazing.

Beta app update

New beta app is a good improvement. The only thing it honestly needs to add is auto start of streaming of cameras. Also the button to make a camera to a preview needs to change colors it's hard to find. The app needs a first launch walkthrough.

It will catch a lot off guard if they don't use favorites. They'll be hot with an unorganized mess of rooms

Why no live on load for all cameras?

I don't get it. Why can't all the cameras just start live view as soon as the app starts? Instead you have to click one camera then click immersive...

Lack of reviews of rp-pn8/16?

I realize they are newer but why so hard to find a review of the newer rp-pn8/16 NVRs? You would think given the "AI" abilities they would be relatively popular, especially with the YouTube bloggers

Did Falcon Complete ever have a contractual SLA for response or was it always "Best effort"

The falcon Complete operating model shows nothing in regard to response time to incidents and investigations. Did they ever have a contractual SLA listed in their falcon complete model? Was there anything ever published for this?

In a model from 2022 they published this and this language has since disappeared. This doesn't reference an SLA but it at least references human interaction.

>Critical Escalations, as outlined in the “Critical Escalations” section above, are based upon the Security Analysts review and analysis of the Falcon Detection or CrowdScore Incident and are typically associated with a call from a Falcon Complete Analyst. These may also be accompanied by an email tagged as “Critical Escalation” and will come from falcon-complete@crowdstrike.com , which is the 24x7 monitored account for the Falcon Complete service.

Capcha/clickfix guidance?

Does CrowdStrike have any published guidance on this recent wave of activity? What are others doing as these attacks have been growing rapidly?

We got hit with one but CS only marked initial execution as a 40/100 and allowed the malicious copy and paste. By the time falcon complete responded to us reaching out it was over 30 minutes later

Escalation: High Detection on XXXX; Execution via Malicious Copy and Paste

This detection highlights a potential malicious copy and paste execution involving the Windows process "explorer.exe." The process tree indicates normal Windows activity, but the command line suggests possible malicious intent, particularly in the context of social engineering tactics used by adversaries.

If the frame is a$$ what is next best?

Would like a frame style TV but doesn't seem there's much greatness out there. Hisense has a 2026 model not sure there are any differences though.

Local best buy outlet has a 75" LS03W frame pro open box for $715.

Just casual viewing, room is very bright. Have a basement for home theater.

kids smartwatch shopping is frustrating

Man... it's like they each intentionally leave out 1 feature that would make them great. So far i've bought and tested the top 3 listed. Literally just need to be able for the kid to easily call me, live tracking toggle if they wander away, geofence alerts. Silent answer would be nice if the kid is lost or something bad is happening.

Garmin Bounce - No calling. The 2 has it but that is $$, geofencing works great, interface sucks

TickTalk 5 - HUGE, no geofencing, app is great. This is by far the closest to a great experience but it is so big on my kid it isn't useable. They really need to release an integrated SIM one that is smaller with geofencing. It would dominate the market.

Fitbit Ace LTE - can't disable gamify crap, no geofencing, SOS is difficult to trigger, limited settings. Just a lazy result from google when they should be dominating as they own fitbit.

Verizon Gizmo - Every feature but a $50 restocking fee (it's $100) and has terrible reddit feedback for reliability.

JrTrack 5** - just arrived and it is really bulky with a very tiny screen. Thing feels like it's 5 years old PLUS requires an activation free. Just to try it for 1 month it's $35

Bark Watch - More expensive monthly plan, more expensive watch, based on old android 11?

I plan to return the top 3, skip the gizmo, and try out the JrTrack and BarkWatch next.

pii-tools.com reputable?

We've seen some demos of pii-tools.com and it was impressive for what it did and the cost. We also appreciate the on-premise deployment. Anyone have extensive experience with them? Trying to deep dive into the actual company and not getting a whole lot of information.

Took a dream cruise last month, here are some thoughts. Background, i've cruised carnival, virgin, celebrity, and now Disney, each once. Paid roughly $4k for 2 adults and a child, 4 nights.

Embarkation 1/10

Holy heck, it was awful. By far the absolute worst experience of any ship/port. Getting to the port was easy, Ft. Lauderdale is great, hotel super easy. We showed up 15 minutes prior to our boarding time. If embarkation hits any delays (ours did), you get queued up on a concrete lot under an overpass. Thankfully it wasn't hot and weather was fine but this is a recipe for disaster. Our boarding group was delayed 1.5 hours and we stood in a line for a total of nearly 3 hours. Got on the ship as they were doing the security briefing. This unfortunately set the tone for the cruise which really hurt

Room 8/10

Nice, really nice. 10th floor near the rear. My wife said she barely ever heard any noise. This was probably the quietest room. We also appreciated 2 separate vanities. The TV was old as heck and clearly nowhere near what Disney should be presenting, especially as an entertainment company but ultimately you aren't on a ship for tv.

Ship 6/10

Layout was super easy. It's an older classic Disney designed ship so it is a little dated but we didn't care. Unfortunately though, there are lines EVERYWHERE. Lines for EVERYTHING. It is essentially like a Disney park in the middle of the day at times. The ship wasn't as clean as say the celebrity ship we went on, but honestly, for thousands of kids at any given time, it was more than clean enough. On-ship shopping SUCKED. I expected more options like what a Disney park offers and there was none of that. It sucked as much as other lines which is a little disappointing. They honestly need an old school Disney store like the malls in the 90's did.

Food 5/10

The food was meh. Nothing memorable at all. We didn't do any specialty dining. 2 big notes here.

  1. We were assigned an 8:15 dining time. At first we thought that was awful as we have a 4 year old who has a typical bedtime of 8. First night of dinner was very rough with him because he missed his nap thanks to the embarkation disaster. An overtired child at an 8:15 dinner isn't fun. The next 3 nights we were able to get him his nap and he did well for dinner. We actually liked the later dinner time because it meant he was well rested for the 6pm shows.

  2. Lack of dinner buffet. We really didn't like this. Things happen, schedules change, a set dinner time can be inconvenient for other things going on. There should absolutely be a dinner buffet. Instead your only real choices outside of room service are chicken fingers, pizza, tacos, burgers with deck seating.

Service 6/10

Room service was good and clean, our guy was great. Dinner service, the same. Service everywhere else like the food by the pool and bars? Honestly, they made us feel like they were annoyed anytime we asked for something. It felt like trying to get service from someone at Walmart. This is a strong contrast to other cruise lines we've sailed as we had amazing customer services tart to finish on other cruise lines.

Shows 8/10

Really good shows, we had beauty and the beast, dream, and whatever they call the Disney award show one. Beauty was the best, the others were pretty good. Unexpectedly, our son stayed awake and was attentive for all 3 (6pm shows).

Ports 9/10

You don't need excursions for the 2 owned Disney ports. No need. They were nice, clean islands and no heckling locals trying to sell you stuff. Basically the exact opposite of awful Nassau. Biggest gripe was the long long long food lines. Both days, if you didn't get food within the first 15 minutes the line was 30 minutes plus.

Characters 6/10

Good and bad. Our son absolutely LOVES spiderman... there was literally 1 brief appearance by spiderman (I get it, marvel is more prominent on some other ships). You could tell spiderman was in big demand because 15 minutes prior to the appearance, the line was a good 100 people deep at least. They really don't seem to track demand of character appearances and make changes to suite what kids want. There were several repeat characters that only had a few minutes line or no line while other characters with limited appearance that had HUGE lines.

Activities 6/10

Eh. Our 4 year old didn't want to be left alone at the kids clubs, not surprising as most kids solo with their parents and no friends won't want to be left alone. It was a little disappointing to see that when he started to shy away and not want to go in that one of the cast members didn't try to appeal to him and make him feel comfortable. The cast member just simply said ok, next up please. There were several things broken or not in use in the kids rooms when we attended open house. The spider man area was essentially entirely broken or very old. The Nintendo switch games they only had 1 game which is fine. I just felt that they should have more but then again, i'm not of the target age so hard to say. Give them the benefit of doubt because the lines were long to get in. One thing I do recommend is having separate check in/ check out lines. I saw a few kids sobbing for their parents to get out but the parents were stuck in the check-in line area. The water activities were good, slides, fountains, etc.

Final Thoughts

Honestly, we expected more out of a Disney cruise, especially given the higher price than others. That could be on us because we picked the Dream but we really wanted to leave out of Ft. Lauderdale and only do the 2 Disney islands. Nassau was a no go for us. We will return to Disney again one day, probably on a newer ship, but we're going to try a few other lines before we do. Most of this sounds negative but the shows and islands truly were excellent and those are probably the most important aspects for us when cruising. Overall when people ask, we say meh with a smile, So I guess that is about a 7/10.
